The best restaurants in Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh and Lothian

My partner is a coeliac and she's also currently feeding our 2 month old who seems to have a cows milk protein allergy at the moment. We're not the easiest to cater for at the moment, but we were really really well looked after. They checked everything carefully and the chef was made aware. The food was absolutely flipping amazing. I had a Jai and saag aloo myself and it was phenomenal. I'll definitely be going back! Thank you for looking after us.

Part of me is loathe to review this place as so much of its charm is how local and authentic it feels. But it really is a perfect Edinburgh pub. Incredible selection of whiskeys and very friendly staff on hand to help you pick one (of the 850!), especially Moira. Thanks so much, looking forward to returning here.

Really good noodles! Hoghly recommend the Spicy Chongqing noodles with minced pork and chickpeas!

The best brewdog in Edinburgh. Lovely setup and layout, with a nice atmosphere. Winter time is stout time, and I recommend Rocky Road. Lovely.

Stopped for breakfast, will not need lunch - panini was excellent. Owner is very pleasant. Will be back tomorrow morning to finish what we couldn't today.

Very happy with the food and it was served very quickly too. Everything tasted fresh and was definitely well executed. The cafe has a very nice atmosphere Lost one star for the cleanliness and the air.

Nice cultural resource for the city. Events put on regularly. Has a haggis b restaurant inside that's great.

Ordered some tapas, it was below average, my partner is convinced it was partially microwaved. The lady who served us didn't seem very interested, I would ask her a question whether they had a particular drink and she would just say 'no' and walk away not even interested whether i maybe had an alternative i wanted to ask about or order 😂 It felt like hard work. Not going back 🤣
