The best restaurants in Angus Central Scotland

Lovely way to end an afternoon at House of Dun. Nice tea and great cheese scones.The menu looks good and the staff were attentive.

Ordered a burger and fried onions and a cappuccino. The beefburger was cooked to death and like sawdust, definitely reheated in the microwave for way too long. Please ladies cook them to order or take them off the menu.

The staff is most friendly and the food is okay. They also made a little mistake with the beef, but the replacement dish was quickly presented. Loved the pepper sauce. The meat was actually swimming in it, so could be a little bit less. Only thing is I found the price a bit high for the quality of the food. Don’t know if we would revisit With so manny good restaurants in the neighborhood but fur sure it was not a bad experience.

M & Gs is a mobile restaurant which comes to the playing field by the scout hut in Hillside, Montrose every Monday evening between 4:30 and 8:00. Orders can be placed by phone from 3:30pm. This is a cash only operation that travels to Arbroath, Carnoustie, Friockheim, Invergowrie and St Cyrus amongst others. Can't get any fresher than this - lovely large succulent fillet of haddock and a good serving of chips. Well worth a visit if you are close by. I now look forward to Monday nights !! I have taken pictures of this mobile chippie but as this is being reviewed for the first time I cannot post photos as it is not giving me the option. I will post them separately.

Wife ordered mailbu vodka and fresh orange was not fresh orange was like a kids watered down orange shocking for the price 1 star

What can I write that hasn't already been written? Well the ice cream parlour next door is also fantastic and I've never been in a chippy that has wonderful ice cream delights as part of the experience! I hasten to add I did not eat both on the same day! The fish and chips experience is 100% and hailing from Cleveleys near Fleetwood where the fish and chips have never failed to deliver this was a very welcome experience. Then again, Scottish fish and chips is also a tradition that local artisans take pride in and this was scrumptious. Wholly recommend this place. Go on, spoil yourself - and the view, on a sunny day, is a wonderful place to experience the meal but watch out for those seagulls!!!

Absolutely lovely cafe, we stayed at the linked hotel which was also very nice and clean with very friendly and helpful staff who kindly organised our early breakfast before we set off for an early morning Rally, the service in the cafe was exceptional, nothing was too much bother for the lady who went out her way and opened up early for us which was greatly appreciated. The breakfast rolls and coffee were just what we needed, she was very welcoming and we couldn’t have asked for better service. Highly recommend popping in and you can also see their beautiful black cat Rogue who’s super friendly and loves a pet.

Very comfortable and cosy especially as we approach winter months. Good selection from the menu. Very pleasant staff.

Two very young girls (staff) stood near our table laughing and carrying on for most of our time there which was just unsettling. When I asked them if they could close the curtain/blind at the back of the restaurant they realised there wasnt any window covering at the back window so they just never done anything, they never even communicated that there was nothing they could do. I was left in the blinding sun. One glass of juice had some sort of food in it, I asked them to change it, and the second glass tasted like dishsoap. The pork dim sum was absolutely disgusting, unlike anywhere else I've had it. The only good things I have to say about our visit there is that the main meal was ok and the toilets are lovely and clean.

Not impressed with the food at all! The loo fajitas I ordered were burnt black. The chicken that came with the Maryland was dry. Definitely not going back … A waste of money. The waiting staff were nice.

Fab filled rolls and homemade cakes. Sausages, bacon, etc. all sourced from local butcher, which is a huge plus in my book.

Never had a bad meal from here. Is slightly pricey but definitely worth it for the food. Staff are very kind and always trying to accommodate with deliveries. Had a variety of different dishes from here and always enjoy the food. Food always arrives hot and fresh. Delivery driver is lovely also. Highly recommend
