This cafe went above and beyond. Not only did I get chips and cheese with a coffee (after a 30mile bike ride) but I also managed to charge my phone and when I asked when the ferry was due got an up to the minute status
Been to the restaurant a few times and the food is always great. Staff are attentive and is reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend and will be back.
Stopped by for a milkshake and ice cream recently and was seen to by a young man who asked if I knew what I was having then waited around until I did.
I ordered two milkshakes (one for my sister too) and a three scoop ice cream tub and found the pricing to be fair.
There was a lengthy wait, considering there was no one else around, which was made worse by the fact that the lad spent a good 5-6 minutes in the kitchen, before he came through with two coffee cups, THEN started making my order in front of me. No interaction at all the entire time.
He packed up my order and we thoroughly enjoyed it, the milkshakes and ice cream both generous sizing!
Would definitely go back but the service/atmosphere could be worked on a little!
We love the place go once a week. Staff are brilliant and always cater to our needs and giving me what I want since I don't like currys recommend them to everyone.
We were delighted with all aspect of our visit! Cullen Skink (and we eat it all around Scotland often) was delicious and served very promptly. Lovely carrot cake.
We will most certainly be back :)

Saw an article about a poor review of Sol. Just wanted to set the record straight. Four of us ate at the restaurant on the 23rd of March and the experience was superb. Food was excellent and the service from the two ladies who served us was absolutely faultless.
Very nice little place with excellent food, and drinks !
Our last restaurant after a 3 weeks road trip Scotland and a hit !
We loved the food, the staff and the nice owner.

Great fast service, had ayran a dairy drink, lamb kebab, and halloumi with mushrooms, was pleasantly suprised that the ayran is homemade very tasty, was given a basked of fresh and warm turkish bread along with sauces, was given a turkish delight upon exit
Popped along for drinks in the beer garden on a (rare) sunny day as it’s one of the few places that stock my favourite cider - everywhere else crammed with students! Couldn’t have been made more welcome by the GM Richard - so attentive and chatty.
New menu was launched today and although we only sampled small plates and sides, everything was delicious.
Definitely worth a visit and we will, of course, be back to try out more of the menu - especially the new lunch sandwiches!!
