Was so good the first time we went, I booked again 2 weeks later. Lovely cosy restaurant oozing with charm. Brilliant service. And the food...beyond any superlative that I could muster. An a la carte and Set Menu offering a Soupe du jour, Starter du jour and Plat du jour. It's a good job we don't live locally as I'd be eating here every night:) Can't wait to go back.

We had a wonderful lunch in this gem of a restaurant. The food and service were excellent. The fish dish of the day, pan fried trout with saffron potatoes roasted vegetables was sublime and the dessert of the day, plum frangipan was delicious. Really good service and good value. I will return next time Im in Perth.

Dark environment, too dark! Table choices were all too large for a couple, so one felt lost amongst the 6-8 seating table which empty. Expensive!! Food was very mediocre, nothing amazing. Bread served before main tastes like a 30p oven baguette. Portion sizes are too small for the cost.

I'll recommend this restaurant to everyone. The best schateubrian I ever had. I asked Agnieszka one of the staff to cook my steak blue and I was pleasantly surprised when my meal arrived on a hot stone which allowed members of my family to finish cooking their steak as they like medium or well-done.

Fantastic, happy staff and a high quality of product. I’ve now been 3 times and it gets better and better. Sadly I don’t have pictures, but you won’t regret a visit

Food was amazing What a great place to eat. Every dish we tried was absolutely tasty and well prepared. Place was busy on Saturday but service was still top level. We were celebrating birthday got the drink on the house also . Cant wait to go back and try the other dishes. Highly recommend.

Place was amazing, Service Amazing! And FOOD.. what can I say! Door was pricier than I was used to, but it was well worth it! Every bite was just oozing with Goodness! I think this will be our Get together meal out Date place with Hubby! I would recommend it 💯. We had steak slices and hubby had half a lobster 🦞.

Great food with attentive service!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a restaurant that exceeded my expectations in every way. The service was absolutely perfect - the waitstaff were polite, helpful, and incredibly professional, making me feel truly special. The food was simply delicious. Every dish, from appetizers to dessert, was carefully prepared and full of flavors that wonderfully complemented each other. This place definitely deserves the highest rating, and I will certainly return in the future.

This restaurant is by far the most authentic French restaurant outside of France in my opinion. The food is just so honourable in terms of flavour and quality. The staff maybe not so. They were lovely but maybe ‘doing their best’ does not quite cut it. The place is full of regular customers who seem to appreciate good food, not a hamburger or pizza in sight.

Fish dishes here are excellent (we had teo entrees, trout and salmon, both moist, neither overcooked. The 2 and 3 set menus are great value for money.

Had dinner here the other night. Everything was wonderful from start to finish. Food was delicious and cooked perfectly and service was exemplary. Highly recommend.

Fabulous meal and lovely warm ambiance. Run by great people who are friendly, professional and excellent. The goats cheese starter and the scallops were stand out dishes for us.

Popped in on a lovely Friday evening. It was busy inside but grabbed a table outside. What a lovely place with great staff and lovely food. Scallops starter was fab, as were the prawns. Both really tasty. The he sauce with the scallops was great. We went for the meat and fish dishes of the day, beef stroganoff and the seafood choucroute. Both lovely. Topped off with a croissant bread and butter pudding. Perth maybe quiet these days but if this restaurant is anything to go by - dining out there is still a treat. 👍

Booked this place via google on a recommendation from our Airbnb host. It didn't disappoint. It was quite full and buzzing. Service from beginning to end was wonderful. Attentive, quick, efficient and delightful. The food was define too, as was the wine. Yum.

Popped in without booking at lunchtime. Had fish & seafood Bisque as a light lunch. Was given some slices of baguette & butter to start with. Bisque was delicious with pieces of fish and 3 mussels on top. Service was lovely & professional. Menu had a great selection of seafood.

I don’t know how in the 5 years we have lived in this area we have not eaten here before. The food was excellent, perfect on all levels, the service friendly and very efficient. Food was so good. Bread and olives were lush. Soup and 3 different mains were just delicious. Not always easy to get a table but worth the effort. My favourite restaurant in Perth.

I went to this restaurant 5 months after coming to Perth. Little did I know that even the simplest of the dishes would be awesome here. The staff and food both are awesome. Don't give it a miss. Being a vegetarian, options were limited but didn't disappoint. Aubergine lasagne and falafel (vegetarian) are lip-smackingly good.

Really enjoyed a last min lunch today. We took our time and enjoyed a delicious 3 course lunch. I'm not sure if you could have a "quick" lunch, but I'm sure they could help you out if you let them know you were in a rush. Every time i've been in, the food is top notch. Def worth a visit for something a little different

We arrived to Perth late today after the long drive from Skye. Found this place and it was perfect. Great food. Reasonably priced. They’d just changed up their menu. I had the coq au vin and the trou normande for dessert. All really good.

Lovely meal, staff were attentive given the place was packed the whole evening. Can’t wait to go back

We visited the restaurant today with two young kids for a late lunch. This is our second visit and I can safely say you can enjoy consistently delicious, good quality food. The kids food was also very good. My husband opted for a T bone steak and it was good as the first time round. The desserts were lovely too and the restaurant made a couple of milkshakes for my two boys despite them not being in the menu. Nice polite service, very helpful. The portions are generous and you will not feel hungry leaving the Place. Atmosphere also is cosy and welcoming. Nice to be able to visit the place with kids too. We will most definitely be back again. Thank you!

Over the years we have been coming to Tabou we have seen changes but somethings remain consistent and that is service, food and value remain as high as ever.

Had lunch on a wet day. Absolutely lovely. Would highly recommend, on all counts!

My favourite place in Perth to eat, the food is outstanding and the service to match. It doesn't matter what you pick to eat from the menu it's all so delicious you can't go wrong. If you are on holiday you must eat here.

What a lovely little French bistro. The food and the atmosphere were very authentic. Salad du Chef was beautiful. Well balanced in flavour and texture. Roasted plums and duck match perfectly.

About as close as you'll get to a perfect dining experience. I went two days in a row and I look forward to my next visit to Perth so I can eat at café Tabou again. Can't recommend highly enough.

Service was good. Ordered the cote de boeuf, blue it arrived an a sizzling hot plate and therefore continued to cook for the next 20 - 30 minutes. Some restaurants just now what to do with blue steaks! Luckily it wasn’t too busy as it always feels there are too many tables too close together. Perhaps this is why I had to keep moving to allow other customer to read the specials board.

Inconspicuous but amazing place with absolutely astonishing food

We went for our anniversary lunch here, and we are so glad we did. The people that work there are friendly and helpful. We had scallops which were nice, just the right amount of cooked too! And then the rare coté de beouf which is a sharing steak, it was delicious although a tad chewy. It looked amazing when it arrived and the sides were very very good. The best part of the meal was actually the vegetable side, they were the most delicious and beautifully cooked veggies we have ever had at a restaurant! overall the experience was good and we highly recommend a visit. Inside it feels like Paris and outside the church adds atmosphere. We are going to go for a breakfast soon. Didn't think it was too expensive either. You should go, it's well worth a visit😁

Excellent Scottish ribeye steak cooked as requested with garlic/butter/parsley sauce served with gratin dauphinois and washed with a very good French Merlot. A dessert equally good : white chocolate cheesecake with fresh berries. Attention given by the staff all the time. Good quality and value

The waiters very friendly and attentive. I ordered the menu, with the chef's salad, which although it had chorizo, the flavors were very balanced and I really liked it. For the main course I had the venison, which is brought in a small casserole and the broth was spectacular, delicious. For dessert, a cheese board was good. All accompanied by a beer, £38 in total. A little expensive, but everything was very good.

Visited here on the recommendation of a colleague. This is a traditional restaurant located in the centre of Perth. We had the three course set menu, finding the food to be excellent, washed down with a decent bottle of Pinot Noir. Looking forward to visiting again.

This place has such a wonderful atmosphere. Very French in style and the food is amazing.

Booked online which was very easy to do. When we arrived it was such a nice evening and we decided to sit outside in the shade. Tables are big enough for 4 people comfortably. When sitting outside you may be right on the street but it’s not too bad. Lots of different menu options. Men chose to change the chateau beef I ordered lamb and friend ordered fish. We also saw frogs legs and thought why not The food was amazing they cut the meat at the table. The frogs legs were really nice, Didn’t think they needed the bread crum but that’s just my preference. I always thought tabou was too posh for me but I’ve been well and truly corrected. Will be back

Incredible food, had the set menu, three fantastic courses of perfectly cooked food. Every element of every dish was spot on. Best meal we've had in a long time. Excellent seafood and a Sunday roast beef dinner elevated to beyond amazing. The service was first class too.

Not many others in the restaurant so it was quiet and cold but great food and the new member of staff did at good job at cocktails., definitely call in again.

Had lunch here today, set menu £24.50,2 course. Started with meant to be haddock with cauliflower in cheese sauce, no haddock or anything resembling fish in dish. Mentioned to waitress, said she would pass it on to chef. He told her it's mixed in, well unless my taste buds are knackered it was well disguised. Only reason we went in here was we couldn't find a Chinese restaurant for lunch, will certainly be looking for one next time in Perth, this was certainly not worth the money.

We have been going to cafe Tabou for many years and always find it tasty. I chose rack of lamb but got two small cutlets, some baby veg and 3 baby potatoes, my partner chose the monk fish tail and got 4 very small pieces. Baring in mind these dishes were £27 each I felt I was being ripped off. Full bill came to £118 and went home for a snack.

Decided to give this place a try after hearing good reviews. First of all the table we got was like it had been put together just then and there right in the corner next to toilet , I kept bashing my head off the wall. The scallop starter is a joke! 10.90 for two tiny scallops and the rest is raw leek and salad. Tempura broccoli was lovely. The mains I ordered was beef medallions , I asked for potato gratin and got fries but it took so long to come I couldn't be bothered waiting any longer for the issue to be fixed. Ordered drinks and they took 20mins each time to come. Had to ask twice for them , clearly forgot about us until I asked for a second time. Won't be back and for £109 it's definitely not worth it , been to much better places for a better price.

Top quality Perth Restaurant. Always full to the brim, and always very professional service. Chateaubriand is a must! (£60 for two people, with a stunning bottle of red, mid week special). Better pre-book though or you wont get a table. I also highly recommend the seafood soup starter, it's incredibly good.

Consistently excellent traditional French food, with superb service every time. From start to finish, Cafe Tabou is a fantastic place for lunch or dinner in Perth, whatever your tastes. Steaks are first class, and the fish is amazing. Wonderful wine list. Also serves the best bread in Perth 🤩

22 of us booked for late lunch on New Year's Eve. We had a flawless afternoon, brilliantly looked after by the team. The food was great and the service prompt and with a smile. Keep up the great work folks.
