At the end of the evening, all three of us agreed. Excellent service. Excellent atmosphere. Most of all, excellent food. Seek it out if you are in the locality.

Excellent meal. We booked a little late and were surprised to be the last booking of the evening. Surprises included the bin-end (?) 1/2 bottle of Krug, which went so well with our starters (my risotto of smoked haddock was superb) Mains of chickem and Bambi were equally as good. And a nice little chat with the owners at the end of the meal. It as our last night of a too short break in Comrie and Diels' ensured it ended on a very high note

Wow! Wasn’t expecting the food to be as fantastic as it was from this small local restaurant, which I’d passed lots of times on holiday, walking up the actual Devils Cauldron and finally got to try. Quite small, and the fire made it feel warm and cosy. Went fishy for the night, with scallops starter and sea trout main, both delicious. Not massive portions so enough room for a delicious lemon pudding. Attentive and friendly staff. Definitely one to return to.

I arrived at the deils couldron for Sunday lunch which was excellent everything was very nicely cooked and presented so much so I returned for dinner later that week and I had a very nice smoked fish tartlet which had an excellent sauce for starter. And for main course had the outstanding fillet of pork with a nice potato bubble and squeak and finished with sumptuous pot au chocolate. Can't recommend enough.

Finally made it along to this lovely little restaurant for a bite to eat, having received a gift voucher recently, and we’re so glad we did! The building is old and comfortable - on our visit warmed by the real fire which was very welcoming as were the staff, Katy and Brian. The food was well prepared in good time and was really quite delicious! Portions were generous and the whole meal, including drinks, was very good value for money. The lunch menu is not the most varied selection but, importantly, we felt there was something there for everyone. It was a genuinely relaxing lunch, in very amenable surroundings and we would highly recommend it. Not the biggest premises and, whilst it wasn’t particularly busy at the time of our visit, we’d recommend a booking just to be sure to avoid disappointment. We’ll certainly be back!

A friend gave us a gift voucher for this restaurant. Booked dinner for 13 March 2024. As it turned out we were the only customers, so felt a wee bit embarrassed, but Kate and Brian made us feel at ease and were very welcoming. The meal itself was quite simply superb. Taste, presentation, quality. All first class. Quite simply one of the best meals we've had in a long time. Booking advised as we suspect it will get very busy as Spring and Summer progress.

Belated wedding anniversary dinner. Lovely food from a short but well chosen menu. Friendly service. Truly excellent wine list with the bin ends and rare page a standout. A real surprise to find a wine from our wedding year (1982) in great condition and at a very fair price. But don't let the wine list overshadow the excellent cooking.

Spotted this restaurant and booked a table for the evening as we arrived to start our holiday. A very warm welcome was received. We ordered food in small bar area then taken to a lovely dinning room. Starters were very tasty - especially rabbit and black pudding terrine, followed by main course - steak with whisky and mustard sauce and a chicken with a cognac sauce . awe was both too full to manage a desert but have booked again to revisit. We stayed in Comrie in August 2020 during one of the quieter phases of the pandemic. Seven of us in a cottage on the edge of the village. Saturday was our last day and we tried to book somewhere to go for a meal before returning to England. Called round and everywhere was booked up – we'd left it too late. We’d tried the Deil’s Cauldron and Brian had told us to call back if we didn’t find anywhere. He could possibly do a take-out for seven and didn’t mind turning up a little earlier for work if we ordered in advance. We took him upon his offer. It was only a short walk away, the menu looked promising and the Deil’s Cauldron had some glowing recommendations in the Visitor’s Book.Seven of us, including one vegetarian, so we selected the Tapas Menu. Much easier to share around the large table in the kitchen. It also allowed us to order at least one of most of the things we fancied on the menu. Everything - from the wonderful Paella via the Honey Glazed Chicken and Lamb Koftas through to the bean ratatouille was simply excellent. We loved the Prawn Tempura and the red meat easters squabbled over the succulent meatballs. It was just a really great meal with the added bonus of some sweet Tablet/Fudge gifted to us by the Deils Cauldron. As requested, we returned our take-out boxes and we wanted to thank Katy and Brian. In conversation, they told us that we’d inadvertently ordered from the weekday menu rather than the weekend one; Brian had come in extra early and cooked it all anyway for us as he knew we were stuck. Not only was the food great. but the restaurant fulfilled our accidental order rather than call us back which was probably the easier thing for them to do. We were really grateful. It is a level of service that goes far beyond anything we’ve encountered before. The Deil’s Cauldron fully deserves its glowing recommendations – for food and service. Highly, highly recommended. Can you give six stars?

We had intended visiting the restaurant but in these extraordinary covid 19 times we were lucky enough to be able to have a takeaway. The weekday meal provided was marvellous, for starters we shared a couple of dishes of crispy tiger prawns, for mains we had the seafood ragout, burger and coq au vin. Chocolate mousse and cheeses were also very good. Our only regret was that we hadn’t ordered more of the tiger prawns, they were delicious, must remember to double the order next time. The one suggestion we have is that they include a note to confirm what the lovely cheeses are, though we had a guess. The meal really lifted the current gloom for the evening. In these uncertain times it’s very important that we support such good places to eat.

Group of four adults, visited on a Sunday lunchtime as a birthday treat. We all very much liked the easy, friendly atmosphere - very homely, but with efficient, professional service at the same time. Most importantly, the food was great - I had the breaded king prawn tails to start, with sea bream fillet for main, then couldn't resist the fruit pavlova. All of it was tasty and well-presented, without being over-fussy - fitting in nicely with the overall feel of the place. Two of the party had the roast sirloin, as noted that it was perfectly cooked, with enough pink in the centre to allow the best taste to come through. As we've moved into the area, we're pleased to have this on our doorstep, and will be back before long.

Nice meal and good service. It's a bit old fashioned with a traditional menu but the food is well cooked - although a bit underseasoned and the veggie cottage pie lacked flavour - maybe too much potato and not enough mushroom. It was fine meal but wouldn't rush back.

A lovely wee restaurant to visit for lunch or dinner. Beautifully cooked food full of flavour and well presented. A lovely varied menu to suit every ones taste. They have light lunch menu which is very reasonably priced or another which is £16.95 for two courses or £19.95 for 3 courses. I had the three course lunch and every mouthful was delicious, the sea food ragoue was full of lovely fresh fish and sea food. The staff were very good ,the chef came out to say hello which was very nice. My friend had the smoked haddock Rissoto for starters and said it was delicious , the chocolate mousse for pudding was rich and decadent a lovely finish to a lovely meal . They have a kids menu and a large garden so if it is a nice day lovely to sit outside. A very nice good quality and good value restaurant.

This restaurant is named after a local waterfall which is a short walk up the road from it. In spite of its name, the atmosphere is warm and quiet. The food was excellently cooked and beautifully presented. I chose to have a main course and dessert rather than a starter. The servings were just the right size to satisfy without making over full. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

Managed to get a rare night out without the kids while on holiday up in Comrie. It's great that such a small village can sustain such a place, but it's a very close attempt at haute cuisine (and certainly priced as such) but the standard of the food doesn't quite hit.

Had a really good evening meal here a few weeks ago - it does get busy so you'll need to book! Staff very attentive and the food was absolutely delicious. Wish we had the time to revisit!

After hearing and reading the rave reviews we booked a meal here but weren’t overly enthused by the time we left.

Meal for 7 booked as we were staying in local airbnb. Staff so friendly and accommodating. Food was delightful ranging from sea bass beef, lamb and vegetarian option. Restaurant is clean, comfortable with a well stocked bar and toilets offering everything you may need. Would definitely go again.

Comrie is a pleasant village near Crieff and the Trossachs. This restaurant is a marvellous asset. We were having a small family celebration, and after a warm welcome we were presented with a fairly short menu based on local, seasonal ingredients. I had beef medallions which were excellent. Good selection of wines, plenty of which you can order by the glass.

Absolutely perfect evening for a ‘quiet’ hen doo party of 10 girls. The owner and chef accommodated all our needs and special requests, even a cheeky pic! The bride to be had a lovely evening and we all felt at home. The whole experience was first class and all of us felt the same! Thankyou very much from the whole party x

We have stayed in the village for a few nights and Tuesday was the only night we could book. Very impressive and will definitely seek it out if we ever return. Lovely warm welcome from the husband and I’ve team that run it. The menu was quite short which to me is always a blessing. I had Shetland scallops and roast lamb - both excellent.

Ate here on a recent trip to Crieff, having heard lots about this restaurant, all very good & it exceeded my expectations. I chose a scallop & prawn starter and then a barley mushroom risotto Both were delicious, the risotto essentially. Dessert was a lime panacotta with a berry compote, which again was delicious. We had a bottle of organic Tempranillo, which was perfectly described on the wine list. The device was quick, professional & friendly without being too much. We will definitely return & highly recommended this to anyone who finds themselves in Crieff but want a taste of Europe
