It was my wife’s 60th. It was a pleasure dining there, Rocky the manager explained the specials board to us in detail, the food was delicious.

It’s absolutely delicious, the service is great, large selection of food and beverages. Thank you for the great advice and recommendations.

Great night they fitted us in even though we did not book. The food was great we will see you again next time

Phoned up on Thursday to try to get a table for Friday forgetting that it was payday weekend. The staff were very accommodating and put me in for a table for 7pm as I requested. Greeted warmly on arrival by Rocky the Manager and all the other staff. Starters consisted of Poppadoms with spiced onions and mango chutney with Chicken Chatt and Chicken Tikka pieces to follow, 3 pieces of succulent chicken served on each plate cooked to perfection. Mains, Chicken Pardesi (cooked in spinach) my wife Sharon's favourite dish while I opted for the Chicken Tikka Masala, as the menu states cooked the same way as from when it originated in Glasgow, a mild curry that I love to bits, which I had with fried rice and we shared a Garlic Kulcha (a thinner type of bread in comparison to the usual Nan bread). Don't just take my word for this fabulous dinning establishment in Helensburgh, get a table booked and see and taste the varied delights on offer including a Specials Board with an array of dishes available to cater for every persons specific taste in high end award winning Indian food. I promise you won't regret it.

Visited several times before 2020, then finally back in Scotland this year and had to come back. Food is exceptional, manager and staff wonderful! Cannot recommend it highly enough!! No wonder these guys have won so many awards!!

Lovely place, brilliant staff and fantastic food

This was my first time eating here and it won't be the last.The food was amazing,the service was first class.The staff were professional and extremely efficient.We had a large group and everyone got exactly what they ordered.Each course served with no fuss and no delays.Would definitely recommend!

On the way to another restaurant our taxi driver insisted that Annayas was the best place to eat in Helensburgh, and he was right! The food was outstanding, and the love and effort put into their menu was clear to anyone sat at their tables. The staff were lovely and it was overall such a lovely experience. Can’t wait to go back!

Welcomed into the restaurant by the friendly waiter . Ordered drinks . The mixed starter for two was amazing! The nan was fluffy and fresh ! The mains were a lamb curry and a South Indian garlic. I'll give this restaurant a 8/10 the reason it isn't a 10/10 is because the curry sauce has far too much oil ! This put me off eating all the curry. I understand Oil is used in India sauces but the oil was floating at the top of curry and was too much

The specials board menu was explained in detail, which all four of us chose from. The food was absolutely outstanding, some of the tastiest curries I've ever experienced. The customer service was fantastic. Overall, the restaurant is an absolute gem and rightly deserves the highest praise. I hope the team keep up the good work for years to come!

Takeaway took nearly 2 hrs to arrive. Driver then proceeds to take the piss about the wait. Phoned up given no reasons or apology. Food was cold . Huge shame. Usually excellent. Others options in town now.

Was in the restaurant in Balloch last night. Food was incredible! The service was perfect too. Next time I am in Balloch I will definitely go back, highly recommend it.

Almost perfect! We had butter chicken tikka, chicken jalfrezi, chicken biryani, rice and a cheese naan - by delivery. The bread was a little bit of a let-down (I've had much better elsewhere) but the main dishes were outstanding - we all agreed it was one of the best curries we've had. Generous portions and well-balanced flavours. Wish we lived closer, and not 300 miles away ☺️

A first-rate restaurant! We enjoyed our meal so much that we returned on the following night. The vegetable biryani was superb while the vegetarian side dishes were delicious. The staff are extremely friendly and the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend.

We were recommended this place while stopping in the area. Not the hype the reviews give credit for, I'm afraid in my experience. Service first was pretty good, although one server completely blanked us when we asked for a bill, then continued to walk around like a lost sheep. The young girl out front was polite and courteous. The food. I asked for a chicken tikka dish and what arrived looked like, and tasted like normal chicken. I was assured it was chicken tilkka, alas I beg to differ. I asked for fried rice and served pilau rice and told it was fried. I dislike pilau and it certainly was not fried. The curry itself had some layers of oil visible, but I've had worse. Flavour wise, it was tasty, and the naan was delightful! Only other niggle was the table we were at was a little bit of a rat run, it felt like being on the aisle of an airplane, at times when someone walked past, my elbow or even shoulder would get knocked. Worth the price, afraid not. Visit again, afraid not.

Recommended by the hosts of where we are staying, as visiting from England. The reviews and recommendations hyped this place up so much, unfortunately I can't agree as my experience was bloody awful. My parter and I ordered jalfrezi on king prawn one chicken tikka. My prawns were over cooked like rubber, and the chicken was just plain chicken. When we exapressed concerns we where told its correct. We ordered a fried rice but were given pilau rice, but again told its fried rice. The table we were given was stupidly located where people walk past frequently, nudging us as we tried to eat. The dishes where bland, and as a chef well I know good food and how it should be cooked, this place got it so wrong. When it came to paying, I looked directly at a waiter and asked for the bill, he ignored me and walked off looking totally confused and lost. Will not be visiting again under any circumstances, and the manager kept boasting about awards he's won, goodness knows how!!

Had takeaway pizza and was amazing. Also got to sample a new burger going on menu. 100% be back and hopefully on menu soon.

A lovely lovely unexpected find in the most unexpected location. I really wasn’t expecting to find authentic halal Pakistani food in a sleepy little town in Scotland but I’m glad we did The welcome was very friendly and welcoming, the food was amazing. The staff couldn’t do enough and I’d award 10 stars if I could!!

The restaurant was already very busy shortly after 6 p.m. We were lucky and got a table without a reservation. The service is excellent. Very friendly and very attentive, a level like in a 5-star restaurant. The food is also very good. We didn't really know what we were eating, but we really enjoyed it. The ambience is not that nice, more like a fast food restaurant. This could be improved. We can highly recommend the restaurant!

Beautiful Indian restaurant with lovely Staff. They looked after us to get a table as it was very busy. I can understand why it's busy as the food and service is Beautiful.

Visited again exactly after one year, Rocky is very welcoming as usual and his explanation of the special menu is very exciting in a way that you wish you can order every dish listed on it. He gave us the perfect recommendation for the appetizers and we ordered the lamb biryani and the 67 chicken karahi along with a nan bread … amazing!! Plenty to take away and enjoy the next day.

Lovely place and delicious food. I specially liked the Kashmiri chicken curry, the naan bread is the best I’ve had, and the vegetable biryani is very good.

Horrendous. The food had a layer of fat about 1 cm thick floating on the top. The samosa was oozing grease. The rice was nicely cooked but after a few mouthfuls of the meal we decided against eating it.

If you’re looking for a fresher than fresh takeaway, this is THE place to go. Their portions are fantastic and the customer definitely gets value for money. I wondered around Helensburgh for about an hour looking for food and then I stumbled upon this place. The server gave brilliant service from start to finish, updating me on how my order was progressing. When I got back to the hotel to eat, the food tasted amazing. Thanks for the excellent service and brilliant food.

This is a very excellent restaurant on West Princes St. Helensburgh a few minutes walk from the waterfront. Everything is just right.The menu is extensive but any changes you wish to make will be accommodated.I love their Patia Sauce to accompany the best Tandoori Lamb Tikka i have tasted. Tonight i abandoned my usual sweet nan in favour of cheese Paratha which was also excellent. Service and a friendly greeting are second to none here. A fabulous cornucopia of spicy delights.Huge portions,what you don't eat will be packed up for you to take home on request.I Thoroughly recommend this establishment to anyone in town looking for first class indian cuisine. Mon 22nd Jan return visit, early evening in appalling weather. Lovely to receive such a warm welcome from Rocky, Nav and staff. Food was superb as always. I had my usual tandoori lamb tikka and my friend had a delicious Desi Lamb. All finished off with hot rose water chai.😊🤪2/3/24 Every bit as good as last time.17/6/24. No changes which means everything is still First Class.😇

Very busy and friendly. We enjoyed almost everything, the food was good and the staff were attentive. Our only niggle was that it was a noisy restaurant and it was hard to hear each other so don't expect a quiet candle lit romantic setting because it's very frenetic and busy.

Fantastic find when passing through on route home from the Hebrides for the night. First class service, catered to our dietary needs, and really friendly atmosphere. Dishes were delicious, particularly the Goan fish curry. Would definitely recommend.

The food was perfect. The standard was as high as in Tooting, London we're there is competion amongst Indian, Sri Lankan and Bangaladesh communities. We would definitely return if passing through. We gave the atmosphere a 3 due to us arriving early and being the only patrons, however, the staff couldn't have been nicee offering recommendations due to our taste. The portions are large, as is the naan.

This restaurant has amazing service .The uncle who was at counter was very humble and nice . We came from England to explore Scotland and went to this restaurant yesterday 5 mins before aftaar and we were all fasting .We didn’t book a table before hand and we didn’t find a place to eat in .But the uncle was so nice that he gave us some extra food and pakoras as soon as he realized that we are fasting for take away .we loved the food recommended by him .Tadka daal was amazing .We are also from Pakistan .It was so nice to meet such a nice man from our country

Best food great staff who know what they are cooking

Annaya's Indian recently catered for my birthday party and the whole process from start to finish was exceptional. I spoke with the chef several times to discuss numbers, menu options and budget. The food was delivered to us on time and went down a storm with all of the guests. The food was hot and really tasty with lots of side dishes to pick from. From a visit to the restaurant to pay the initial deposit, it looked really nice to sit in so I look forward to returning for a meal in the restaurant. My thanks again for all of the support with the external catering for my large group.

Popped in for a meal on Friday night the atmosphere was good but mostly men on Christmas nights out. I agree with ShaunaP I could not get the authentic Indian taste from our meals and the chicken tikka was very pale no Tandoori coating which I though strange. Couldn’t default the service very attentive. Thought it was a bit expensive compared to out local Indian restaurant.

We love this restaurant, food is excellent, to be completely honest I will say that we have tried the take-away and this doesn't measure up to the food you get when sitting in, but service is always amazing. The staff go out of their way to accommodate you and it is the only place we would go for Indian food in Helensburgh.

Simply one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been to (and that's been a lot - trust me!). Great food, great service, and quite reasonably priced too as the portions are huge!

If I could have given it 10 stars I would, went there for the first time on a Saturday evening and it was incredible, the staff were amazing and welcoming, the gentleman who chatted to us and explained the items on the menu and told us all about the many awards they had won was great, the food and wine was fantastic, the kids loved it and at the end of the evening the chap who told us all about the awards they had won went out of his way to make my 7yr old daughter a very mild curry and paratha to take home at no charge and try as she had chicken nuggets and rice, an incredible gesture and because of that and the quality of the food they now have new customers even though we are a 40 min drive away we will be going as often as possible, you will love it, highly recommend.

Would like to clarify we didn't order from here. There were 15 of us wishing to order a takeaway last Wednesday and were struggling to find an online menu. Walked passed the restaurant about 4.10pm and knocked the door for a takeaway menu. The person chopping in the kitchen area at the front ignored us. Therefore, we went elsewhere. You missed out on c£300 of business. Please can people either answer the door or make a takeaway menu available from outside? Thank you.

We arrived very late and hungry, not expecting anything great. Rocky could not have been more welcoming. The dishes were delicious, spices and prawns obviously fresh and distinct.

Amazing food even better service! We got the mixed grill which was lovely and fresh with great portions i wish we had some pictures but we were pretty hungry and ended up scranning it!! then for mains we had a few curries. The chicken curry was sweet and tasty couldn't get enough of the sauce with the rice! we also got the lamb saag which was definitely the one that stole the show the lamb was falling apart it was so tender and the flavours of the curry really came through! Having that with the garlic naan was outstanding. Also need to mention the fact they gave us some condiments that included mango pickle was unique as don't normally get that elsewhere however love it at home.

Annaya's was very busy, but the service was excellent. The folk who served us were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The food was incredibly good and lots of it - too much for us really, so we took the leftovers home to enjoy later

We are frequent visitors to Helensburgh but had never been to this restaurant until Wednesday, 23rd of August, 2023. We were looking at the premises and menu at the outside when a very kind and lovely lady told us that she recommended Annaya's and she came to Helensburgh once a year and always made sure she went to Annaya's for a meal. Indeed, she had just been in to book a table for 6:00pm. We decided to go in and take a chance that there was a table available (this was at 5:00pm-ish). We were given a table right away and the gentleman in the restaurant was superb at explaining the daily specials, of which there was a large selection. My parents and I ended up ordering a dish from the daily specials board and we were thoroughly impressed with the quality of the food. The chicken melted in the mouth, so tender, just like the gentleman said it would be. My Dad's sea bass was two large fillets of sea bass and looked lovely and he enjoyed it very much! The restaurant was lovely, very clean toilets and impeccable service. For a Wednesday it was very busy which took us a bit by surprise and as soon as people left, other people arrived to take their place! I'd highly recommend Annaya's to anyone who enjoys Indian food. They have a large À La Carte Menu as well for people who want to try non daily specials.
