Upmarket but nicely old style silver ware quaint cafe with fine china crockery. Great food, friendly staff and outstanding carrot cake. Exceptional service and the cafe has an interesting history. Recommendable for visitors to the Perth area.

Came for tea time with my family, and had felt so well taken care of. We were seated immediately and served quickly as well. They went above and beyond to make sure my toddler and baby were comfortable, our server Carli offered her strawberries and cold water for my toddlers tea to help cool it down. She was so sweet and attentive. Would highly recommend paying a visit, not to mention the decor is adorable!!

Took my mum today for afternoon tea. Food and atmosphere is fantastic I cannot rate this wee place high enough. If you are ever in Perth, Scotland and fancy a cuppa and cake, this is the place for you. I love it.

I've been a few visits to Effies, but this was the first with my Grandson River. All staff were amazing front and back of house. Always great to the fabulous hard working Amy in the kitchen ♥️ I will always be back

This was our first visit to Effies and it wont be our last. Staff were amazing and coped really well as the cafe was extremely busy. The food was delicious. My friend had the soup ( Lentil & Bacon) which she said was superb. I had a cheese and colslaw sandwich which was delicious.

What a lovely place! We visited for breakfast and both the full Scottish breakfast and salmon with scrambled eggs were exceptional. Decor and atmosphere are first class, would highly recommend a visit!

Easily the highlight of our week in Perth. George, Edna and the whole team were so wonderful. Cullen skink was delicious and the carrot cake more than lives up the hype - Best we’d ever had! Came back a third time for a wonderful breakfast too. Thanks so much!

We visited to experience an old fashioned tea room and have afternoon tea. Positives: Food was nice, all homemade. We had coffees and hot chocolates which were good. The staff were lovely and very pleasant. The tea room decor itself is very original and dedicated to the history of Perth. The crockery and cutlery is fancy and traditional. Negatives: Menu is slightly different than it is online, with a price increase of £1 per person and is cash only. We were located opposite the counter with people walking past every time someone came in with no space. On left hand table was a regular watching us constantly and on the right there was staff eating. This would not of been an issue if it was busy but there was lots of other tables with privacy. One last thing the jam seemed cheap and cream was not clotted for the price of an afternoon tea.

Such a unique place. Excellent Scottish touches to the Cafe. Well work a visit and food is great...and you can have a lovely glass of wine to complement your meal.

Very tasty afternoon tea and lovely friendly staff. No rush to leave the table which was great as we were old friends having a catchup. Highly recommended.

Had afternoon tea here today 20/1/2024 absolutely amazing, staff were lovely and friendly, food was superb. Although we had booked for afternoon tea we discovered they served Cullen Skink so we ordered a bowl each amd it was THE best Cullen Skink i have ever had. The afternoon tea itself was brilliant, lovely sandwiches, lovely scone jam and clotted cream and a beautifully moist slice of Victoria Sponge to finish off. Would highly recommend to anyone

Booked for lunch to treat a friend and we felt proper spoilt! Lovely attentive staff .Great value tasty food in a lovely retro setting . Effie’s is a an absolute gem of a place which never fails to impress. The staff are welcoming and knowledgeable, and a great range of super-tasty wholesome food awaits, including the best Cullen skink I have had anywhere - every time! The decor is magnificent, displaying scenes of Perth down the years and the opulent silverware service is an added delight. I cannot recommend Effie’s highly enough.

Effie’s tearoom is quirky and really lovely! The service was friendly and welcoming and they managed to fit us in despite being well booked up. The food was delicious…we recommend the Cullen skink and the mince and tatties. Thank you all.

This is a lovely traditional tearoom with fine china, silverware and beautiful paintings and an old rocking horse in the window. It is like stepping back in time and makes for a very pleasant dining experience. The staff are pleasant and the service is very good. The cullen skink soup was delicious. It is well worth a visit.

A charming place, it feels a little bit like you have stepped back in time when you walk through the door. With old paintings on the wall doilies on the silver sugar pots and old ceramics around. I can honestly say one of the best breakfast experiences I have had. Excellent friendly attentive service. A perfectly cooked Scottish breakfast (really good black pudding) all with the relaxing background of gentle classical music. If you are looking for breakfast in Perth you would be foolish not to give this place a try.
