I go here regularly for a carvery as it is one of the best I have been to. I am a very fussy eater and to find a carvery that serves chicken as an option is surprising difficult. The three meats to choose from are usually chicken, beef and gammon/ham. The veg/side options usually include cauliflower cheese, broccoli, carrots, Yorkshire pudding, cocktail sausages and stuffing, but the roast tatties are my favourite part of the meal! You are limited to going up to fill your plate only once but I usually leave feeling very full. Sometimes I have soup as a starter as well depending on what kind it is. I highly recommend giving the carvery a go for anyone who is a fan of a good roast!

A really good authentic family Italian restaurant - we absolutely loved it! This restaurant had wonderful food, we had the clam spaghetti and calamari which was excellent and then all had a pizza, amazing! We also enjoyed a delicious bottle of chianti. Good atmosphere with local people and tourists to the area and the staff were very professional and friendly, excellent service! If we were ever back in Dumfries we’d definitely go back.

My wife and I enjoyed fresh seafood and pasta at this authentic Italian Restaurant. Terrific service and comfortable atmosphere, the quality of the food was of a high standard and a great menu, we enjoyed a 3 course meal and were very satisfied. Thank You!

I had a delicious festive afternoon tea today with my mum using a voucher I had been given for my birthday. The staff were extremely attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. The restaurant was lovely and cosy with gorgeous Christmas decorations. The food was fantastic - different from your usual afternoon tea with a lovely cup of soup to start followed by some festive savoury bites and delicious sweet treats. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed at the premier inn. Went for breakfast. We were informed it would be cooked fresh and not on a buffet. All 3 of us had an English breakfast. Everything was cold. Bacon was paper thin and had no flavor. Sausages cold and dry. Hash browns cold and overcooked. Poached eggs rock hard. Beans Luke warm. All the food had obviously been cooked hours before, or even the day before and just reheated slightly. Not good. Kids were then informed there was no pancakes, no Nutella, no plates left and one croissant that we split between 3 of us ha ha.

Visited here on Xmas Eve. Felt that the staff couldn’t be bothered having you there. My husband ordered the full breakfast and the haggis and black pudding on his plate were about the thickness of a piece of card. Ordered fresh juices, and they were more water than juice. No taste at all. Our hot drinks were on the counter for over ten minutes, but the staff kept walking past them. I ended up going over and taking them myself. Won’t go there again.

Went for afternoon tea. Food had been made previous and stored in a fridge. Sandwiches had barely any filling and a tiny bit of ham and a bit of a cheese slice! Cake was hard. Cheese cake without the biscuit. Scones had been microwaved. Clotted cream was not clotted cream. Coffee was instant and was awful. I would not recommend. Only good part was the prosecco.

This great wee pub used to be my local and had many a fun night there.I revisited recently again after a good few years away and have to say the same fun-filled atmosphere is still there. Nice to see familiar faces too. Ali, as always, your bar banter was tip-top…I’ve missed the belly laughs on a girls’ night!! Thanks for adding to a fab night!
