The location, the restaurant, the staff and the food are all excellent. My partner and I had a truly wonderful Sunday lunch and each dish (cheese souffle, John Dory and blueberry pana cotta) worthy of 10 out of 10. scores. My only concern is that the 25% increase in the price may deter future customers.

Cute little takeaway cafe! Had a hot chocolate and a salted caramel brownie that was so good. I donāt recall there being anywhere nearby to sit, but it was a nice walk with my treats!
This is one seriously classy cafe! Excellent gluten free options available and my goodness the soup is fantastic; it was such a pleasure to enjoy āproperā food. The service is excellent and worth a visit to Duns just to have lunch here.

This was really the best experience Iāve had in a long time, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was well kept, and extremely well decorated, but most of all the staff here are so attentive and nice with a cheerful, chatty spirit, this place will leave you wanting more and nothing less, just incredible.

A1 is/was my favourite pizza takeaway place but the last few times, the quality hasnāt been the same. The chips were cold and the pizza was soggy. They also forgot my juice. Iām disappointed.
We were told about this place by a local shopkeeper, and it didn't disappoint. It was busy with local folk (always a good sign), and the food was well priced and very tasty. My wife's tomato soup and my macaroni cheese were both excellent. And the cakes are to die for!
Comforting yummy food always from a family run Chinese Food Takeaway. Been a customer (and now consider us friends) for over 30 years now.
Love the food, love Universal.
Popped in here for lunch with my wife and her mother. On entering, we were greeted by a smiling Amy, who welcomed us in. I proceeded to order the soup and egg mayonnaise toastie, with a Mocha and white chocolate caramel slice. All were fantastically tasty, especially the soup, which was very thick pea and ham, and piping hot, 11 out of 10šMy mother in law opted for a Latte, which she thoroughly enjoyed. My wife had tea, which was made with leaves, and a chocolate slice, which she enjoyed immensely. She also had a latte, which she also enjoyed. I had another mocha. The premises were welcoming, spotlessly clean, prices were unbelievably cheap. I can also honestly say that the service and banter from Amy, and Megan, Niece and Auntie, was tremendous. I would thoroughly recommend this place, and will be back in the near future.
Very friendly local post office and shop with recent addition of a cafe. Good coffee.
Had breakfast which was very good and filling.
Dog friendly which is great after a walk.

Absolutely beautiful Chinese food. Tonight we ordered a big selection of stuff to try this place out. Salt and Chilli Chicken, chicken chow mein, small portion chicken balls, curry sauce, chips, fried rice. Very generous portions and everything was cooked perfectly. Cant fault a single thing. This will be our new GO TO chinese in Ballieston now.
Super cafe, easy to find on the main drive through Alva. Great food from an extensive menu and unmatched Lucaffe coffee with other beverages available. Ambience just right. Fast service and very friendly staff all contribute to this very popular cafe. We will be back.
