very nice staff, good food and chilling vibe with a view on the bay - just what sailors need after a day on the water ☺️

We took our bikes over to Kerrera for the day. We cycled towards the marina end of the island & the Waypoint was a well earned rest stop for a bite to eat! The seafood was very fresh & amazing. The spot is beautiful looking back towards Oban! We will be back!

We had a lovely family meal at the Waypoint whilst staying on the island of Kerrera. The fish and chips were beautiful, and whilst there wasn't a specific children's menu, they offered to do smaller portions for any meal. The deserts and cocktails were also delicious and the place had a really friendly atmosphere with a mix of locals and visitors!

Booked over the phone 3 days ago to make a restaurant reservation for 5pm today, Friday the 28th of August, for 2 people for dinner. On the phone we enquired with regards to the menu, to be informed the menu changes daily, but that there would be a vegetarian option, a fish option and a meat option of mains to choose from. We were informed that it was based on what fish were caught and what meat could be sourced from the local farm; which made our choice of restaurant more appealing! In anticipation, we took the 16.15pm ferry over. We arrived and were presented with the handwritten menu as seen in photos. There were no starters, only 4 choices of mains that were a burger, moules, pizza, or cockles and prawns. There was no fish only shellfish, which my friend really wanted but as she is allergic to shellfish, this was no option for her to choose. Dessert was ice cream only. I assumed that this must have been the specials menu. Unfortunately, it turned out that this was the whole menu. When we asked why it was so limited and why there were no starters etc, we were informed it was because they had a wedding there tomorrow that the restaurant was catering for. We were disappointed, to say the least as we both had only eaten a small amount in prep for our dinner at the restaurant. We were debating to get the next ferry back to oban and go and eat somewhere else. However, when we enquired, we were told it wasn't until 6pm. We ordered Aperol spritz cocktails. We were hungry, so we ordered; my friend ordered pizza prosciutto and mushroom for £12. I ordered Moules and Fries, as there was no option of a starter. I asked if I could have some bread and butter. We also ordered a bottle of Prosecco. Our mains arrived, to my friends surprise it was a child's size less than 9 inch size pizza with 1 mushroom cut into pieces as seen in photos. My friend is only 5 feet, so has very small hands, so the scale to hand to pizza size really shows how small it was for £12. My moules and fries were average starter size, approx 15 mussels and they were warm not hot. We were both so disappointed. We only didn't send back as we were really hungry as we had waited for this. The server took away our our plates and asked how it was. I mentioned all of the above to her and she apologised. We told the waitress we were not made aware prior, that there would be a limited menu due to the wedding tomorrow when we booked, she replied maybe there not aware of it at the time of the booking..... Surely they knew they had a wedding booked there when we booked 3 days before. We received the bill, no discount, even charged for the bread and butter, we paid it as we we needed to run to catch the 6pm Ferry. We generally always tip, but we didn't this time at this restaurant. We won't be returning. It would have been better for customers had they just closed the restaurant today as they had very little food to serve the dinners, or at the very least informed us, and we would have made other arrangements. We got back to Oben and headed straight to the fish and chip shop. The male barman was lovely and polite. The ferry was a fabulous service that served us very well with a smile. Views at the restaurant were lovely also. Aperol spritz and prosecco were lovely.

Great place to hang out and see Oban from a different perspective. Pizza & Burgers and a good selection of beers & wines. Unless you've a yacht you'll need to buy water taxi tickets £2.50 pp each way and meet the boat on the old market pier next to Piazza Restaurant. Tonight we enjoyed live music but book well ahead and follow Kerrera Marina Facebook or web 🕸️

Food was excellent. I mean, really good. Really good food ethos with local produce taking front and center. What tremendous local produce as well. Sublime. But more than that, the staff were absolutely astounding. Couldn't do more for us. We have a nervous dog and she was accommodated to the enth degree. Stupendous hospitality and we will be back.

Visited Kerrera island for a short walk while staying in Oban. The ferry from north pier to the marina (£2.50 per person each way) was really easy, without having to get the bus out of town to the main ferry. We walked up to Hutchinson Monument (quite boggy), and then in the opposite direction past the farmshop and back to the marina. The Waypoint restaurant has a little honesty box based "coffee-and-cake" corner which is available even when the restaurant is not yet open. This is a lovely place to sit and relax while waiting for the return ferry - out of the elements, with great views. All staff (the ferry boat drivers, restaurant staff etc) are all very friendly and welcoming. You can book your ferry ride on the website, or just turn up.

Had a perfectly fine evening and food from a very small menu with 3 choices - burger, pizza or a great seafood boil. It was Saturday so I suppose keeping it simple as busy BUT overheard the next door table offered scallops, lobster and steak 😲 which we had hoped for. So - ask for the secret specials 😁

I really wish I’d taken a picture of the food. Sadly I was captivated with the dog and hungry -demolished the food as soon as the plate touched the table. Great quality food and friendly service from all staff. We had the beef brisket a bottle of red, and shared a desert. Good serving size/price/quality. Delilah the dog is one lucky thing to live on this beautiful island wish a friendly, and efficient bunch of people.

We enjoyed our lovely little boat ride over to the island of Kerrera for some lunch at the Waypoint Restaurant & Bar and a great hike around the island. Our small lunch was GREAT and perfect for what we were planning for the day. Our service was perfect and helpful - they gave us a hiking map with a key - that actually helped us quite a bit. The fish and chips were great and our views of the marina as well. Nice having bathrooms available as well and there were showers too ~ Definitely a keeper and a hidden gem.

Unless you’re already moored in the marina (we weren’t), a short ferry ride (booked separately from Oban harbour) to this marina-side restaurant is the start of this lovely evening out. The establishment is a simple wooden building, and the kitchen a separate ‘shed’ next door. This adds to, rather from detracts from the setting. The restaurant itself has a lovely atmosphere, friendly welcome and spectacular views back to the mainland. The menu is short, but the food is excellent and well presented. (There’s one veggie option, and several seafood choices). We were able to sit in the restaurant, and because it was excellent weather, the doors were wide open allowing us a spectacular view across Oban harbour and all its activity. There was even a friendly reminder from the staff, about half an hour before the last ferry back to the mainland, the journey on which, with a beautiful sunset, topped off the evening. I’d fully recommend this as a venue to visit for a simple but lovely evening out.

On a solo sailing trip to Tarbert I was fortunate to get a call back confirming that a table had now become available. I don't normally do fine dining without the wife. My starter of Scallops in garlic butter with Samphire was excellent, no, they were better than excellent, followed by delicious Cod Fillet in sauce. The team were welcoming and the whole dining experience was first class. Meeting a friendly and knowledgeable couple from New Zealand made the "Dinner for One" a more relaxed and enjoyable evening. Go there, eat good food, get great service, and meet nice people.

The food served is of good quality, but it's the same old menu time after time. The restaurant also lacks atmosphere, which is a shame because it used to be the best restaurant in Helensburgh under previous owners.
