Absolutely shocking experience walked into the cafe and was given a menu I asked if I could sit down and was told yes. Then the girl took my order. Walked away. Returned about 1 min later and told me that sit in was closed and that I wasn’t going to be served after her taking my order. She told me I could sit outside, in the wind and cold. The Google closing time is 15.00 I was in the premises 14.15 Shocking disgraceful ignorant and no better way to throw someone out of your CAFE, turning away money!!! Then crying poverty when your closed down wondering why you’ve no business

Located on Great Victoria St. In Belfast. This small unassuming shop aims to please. I went in looking for breakfast items. The menu is somewhat limited, but I was told that the menu is only for suggestions, just tell me what for want! They proceeded to make a sandwich which was not on the menu for me. I highly recommend this place.

Not the easiest place to find (it's tucked away) so we were a little late for our booking. It was the total antipathy to the usual snooty, starchy M* restaurants. A very laid back, casual atmosphere. They were happy to provide the tasting, and veggie tasting menus which is not always the case. The food was fabulous. No chef egos on display - no Heston-esque experimentation, no "oyster ice cream" type nonsense (actually seen on a menu in Galway), simply good ingredients, perfectly cooked and combinations that worked 100%. We had the wine flight, which was also superb. Halibut was my personal star, but then halibut always is, whenever on a menu. Unless it's overcooked, which it was not here. Only two less than glowing comments. Nothing personal here, but a strong Belfast accent is very tricky to soft southern English ears, and with the hubbub and music we simply could not understand our servers, especially the sommelier as she described the wine. We had to pretend with a knowing smile, as asking for endless repetition is embarrassing. Speaking more loudly would help. I was also surprised at paper napkins. Surely somewhere of this calibre could run to linen. All in all, we enjoyed the experience enormously and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

We were walking around central Belfast on tour and spotted the Parisien Cafe right across the street from the Belfast City Hall. Cute place and we were delighted with their food and expresso. My wife and I shared a brioche French toast which came with some ham/bacon. The French toast was magnifico, some of the best we have ever had. The ham/bacon was good and not as salty as what we have become use to while in England. I finished off with a caramel macchiato that was good as or maybe better than what I've had in Paris.
