We had a great experience at Darcy's and we will certainly go back before we leave Belfast. Staff were super fun, kind and attentive! The portions were massive for the price (we ordered a sandwich and it contained at least 150gr of good quality meat, completely unexpected for 10£). The place was beautiful and very clean. Fabulous and cozy restaurant that serves amazing delicious food. Dishes - mussels and seafood chowder were excellent. The lamb shank was cooked in Guinness stout giving it a special taste. The best was the Darcy special - braised beef and Guinness casserole.

Excellent place to dine. I had seafood chowder to start and if I could I'd have taken a container of it home, superbly delicious. I had Irish stew as a main course, which again ticked all the boxes but as usual unable to finish - maybe should have had the seafood chowder as a main instead of 2 courses.

An Irish restaurant near my hotel in Belfast. It was a popular restaurant and was full, so I made a reservation and visited again. First up was the Irish whiskey, which was very easy to drink and delicious. The seafood chowder has a lot of ingredients, and the soup with the flavor of the shellfish is very delicious. Boxty is a potato dumpling with a hint of garlic that is very delicious and goes well with alcohol. Speaking of Ireland, there is also Guinness beer. The authentic Guinness you drink is really delicious. Last but not least is Irish chicken. Not only is the chicken moist and tender, but the potatoes and asparagus that come with it are also delicious. The sauce was also extremely delicious.

First meal in NI turns out to be a completely disappointing experience. The chowder was alright but mostly a potato stew. The Darcy's chicken was so dry that I could hear Gordon screaming from miles away. The stew was really salty. The beer was warm, ugh. And to make it worse, it took almost an hour between the starter and mains. The server didn't apologize when asked about the delay and instead, he rudely said "it's coming next" and walked away. Darcy's, you've definitely won a slot in my ban list.

Let's start with the food. I had the fish and chips which included a sizable piece of meaty cod that was well prepared. The chips were also crispy, which was nice and the mushy peas were also tasty. For dessert I had their lemon meringue tart which was on special. This was also very good. Service was okay, but it took some time for the food to arrive - especially the dessert. I waited probably 15 minutes after ordering dessert for it to come. Not a deal breaker, but I did expect it more quickly and I was about ready to simply cancel the dessert order.. What was less pleasant was that when I paid the bill it was clear that the management expected a tip. He inserted my credit card into the machine instead of tapping it, which has become typical for other restaurants in Ireland/Northern Ireland in my experience. I would have tipped, but he's so blatantly put the machine in front of my nose with the tip listed that I didn't do it. I did not feel the service was really superior and I disliked having someone push it so much. When I did not give a tip his demeanor definitely changed. It was a less than pleasant ending to what was good food and passable service. Just something to keep in mind if you have this restaurant on your list.

My friend and I were looking for a place to have seafood chowder and found this place on Google map which is luckily located right in front of the hotel we stayed. All the staff there were friendly and nice. Top for their customer service (if you come from Germany even just a single smile from a staff feels like a heaven lol )! The seafood chowder was really tasty! I would’ve liked it more if the soup was more creamy but that’s just my preference. The taste was amazing! It had a really generous amount of seafood so that was a huge plus. What I was amazed the most was their tempura! I’m from Japan and know what the coating of tempura should taste/feel like. This place was the first place outside of Japan where I genuinely thought they did an amazing job at making the tempura coating so light and crispy! Hats off to the chefs!! We’d booked this restaurant based on reviews and while the welcome was warm the excitement was short lived. This restaurant is reasonably compact and at times can be fairly noisy. We’d spent days looking forward to the great looking menu only to be told for a 7pm reservation on a Saturday night that some of the dishes were unavailable when we ordered them. I’d recommend to anyone going and wanting to have a decent conversation to request a table upstairs which is smaller again but much more tranquil. The food itself was fine and service acceptable also. The card machine was out of order so we found ourselves having to find an ATM to withdraw cash. The restaurant say that they prefer cash so something to be aware of if visiting in future.

The negative reviews are absolutely accurate. l experienced this in an instant on stepping through the door.  I couldn't wait to read the reviews when we got home,  you know, a bit like when you see something so awful on social media that you can't wait to get to the comments 😄😄. Anyway we arrived about 2.30pm to a restaurant with occupied tables.  Curt l gather from the reviews l read, he had a beard, darted over, l said a table for 2 please he curtly asked, without making eye contact, if l had made a booking. I said oh, l didn't realise you had to, he hesitatwd brieflt?? then said come over, and lead us to a table. During our time there one couple had left and then another arrived.  So no obvious reason to be rude, or stressed.  As soon as l sat down (my mum had gone upstairs to the toilet) he came over and asked if l had decided yet, uhhhh no, we had just arrived, so l asked for 2 glasses of wine and l would look at the menu with my mum later. When l asked for the condiments he was telling me what l should have, l listened & took his advice, but found a little salt was actually needed and made a difference to my taste buds. I was particularly unhappy in how he treated a young couple sitting opposite us. The negative reviews cover a period and the attitude and are similiar reviews continue is gobsmackingly unbelievable!? I do not say this lightly, but shouldn't Curt, at least, (l didn't have much interaction with the other staff, but still picked up an unhealthy vibe around them) see someone to address his seething anger issues and God knows what other issues? Been a family run business maybe the family don't get on with each other, so maybe some family therapy?  The restaurant has received great reviews but the negative ones have been consistent in theme, particularly on one waiter Curt, with the beard, the waiter we had, describing his awful attitude and behaviour, even racist in one review. He clearly does not see any need for reflection as his attitude continues.  He didn't spoil our time there me & mum enjoyed it and ended up laughing at the audacity of the man! 😃 Yet  a waiter like that would be sacked elsewhere after only a few similiar reviews. But because his family? and maybe the main stakeholder 🤷🏻‍♀️.  The chef is the restaurants redeemer. Sad to say that l would still not return - on principle, to let him loose on paying customers wanting to enjoy themselves. Nothing will change, that's clear. Curt is clearly not gaining any job satisfaction in his career is he, despite the majority of great reviews? Something's amiss.

Went to Darcy’s off the back of the reviews and was not disappointed. Probably the best food that we had during our visit and the staff worked really hard to make sure that everyone was looked after. Restaurant was busy for a Wed night and would recommend if you are visiting Belfast.

poor quality food: hamburger meat cold, lettuce was flaccid, tortillas cold, sauces seemed diluted. prices in line with other restaurants

Food is amazing everytime we go, the Squid is just insane 🤩 The creme brulee also is fantastically made very much enjoyed it. This place never lets me and my family down, however it is always noisy af 😂 but by no means that bad, can also forget about you (not that long but still) its happened only a few times versus every other time we’ve been.

Absolutely amazing place. Food was fantastic and the service was top class. The prawns were exceptional! Such lovely staff and the live music was unreal!!!!! Most certainly worth a visit. Loved everything about this place

I phoned the number on the website to confirm that it's closed and I was told that it's closed entirely, only writing a review so others see it.
