Darcy's Belfast Bistro in Belfast

The service and food was excellent. I recommend getting a reservation especially on the weekend. We wanted to have good traditional Irish food and Darcy"s didn't disappoint. We started with muscles which, we shared, the garlic creme sauce was so good. As our entrees we had the traditional Irish stew, pork belly and the daily special salmon with shrimp. The Irish stew was very favorable, you could taste the lamb in the sauce. If we come back to Belfast we would surely be back to Darcys.

Went for mother's day. Had the chicken and ham pie and loved it! Service was fantastic too

A real taste of Irish food. We really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is good. Good choice of background music. And the service is very friendly & helpful.

This was our first stop to eat in Northern Ireland, and it was the best choice we made. Staff were very friendly, great looking decor with indie rock and pop music playing, and the food was so delicious. I had the seafood chowder for a starter, fresh from the catch and had a tasty sauce mixed with haddock, prawns, and mussels. For the main I had the Salmon fillet with champs and prawns and it was the best salmon I ever had, it had so much flavour mixed with white sauce and cheese. We're definitely coming here again.

Really friendly staff, great little place, nice options and good choices for those who are vegan/veggie too. Drinks and food brilliant, generous portions and good quality. Brilliant time had.

This Irish restaurant has a nice and authentic atmosphere, and I like one of their signatures: the Traditional Irish Stew, which has a nice texture and flavour. Meanwhile, service standards are great and attentive, which makes you feel kind and friendly.

Stopped in before heading to the train station on our day trip to Belfast . WOW did we make a good choice . The food was delicious. Hubby has the half chicken with ham and stuffing . I had the Irish soda bread and Broccoli soup . Everything was so flavorful ! Definitely will make another trip to Belfast to dine here again !

The food is exceptional, the service is great. Salmon was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The portions are quite big and great for sharing 2 people. Booking in advance might be necessary on weekends and holidays.

My wife and I are from the US and we visited Ireland back in September 2024, and we had a delicious meal with friendly service in this cozy restaurant. I ordered the Irish stew, and my wife ordered the seafood chowder. We both had buttered beer bread on the side, too. The wines we ordered paired well with the food and were reasonably priced. I would strongly recommend this lovely place!

One of our favourite restaurants in Belfast, we have been coming here for 8 years off and on and have enjoyed every experience. The staff go over and beyond, I would say more friends than staff, food is always on power and never had a bad experience. Can highly recommend and a special shout out to our Curtis and Lynsey who keep the atmosphere alive

Was in on New Years Eve, last minute, just called in and they had a table free, ( reason table was free, they had 8 tables not even turn up for them, don't do this people, its not fair on the restaurant, do the decent thing and call up a cancel !), have been going here a long time, even remember Gigi, who was a laugh when serving you ! but it has been a while since we have eaten in it, but it never fails. The food , the service are always excellent, only 3 guys running the floor on the night and they were brilliant, chatting away to all the tables, giving tourists information on where to go for the night . You wont get exquisite small portions here, if that's what you want go to a more up market restaurant and probably be disappointed . If you want excellent food, excellent service , Darcy's is for you

This is the best restaurant in all of Ireland. Who wants to enjoy really delicious food and beautiful staff, come here! The last time I had such a delicious dinner was at my mother’s house. ❤️

Food in here is really very good. All homemade. I had the chicken in sauce it was delicious. My daughter had the burger, she said it was so tasty. Portion sizes are big none of us could finish them. Staff are pleasant and helpful especially Kurt. We had two cocktails and enjoyed them. Can’t recommend this place enough. It’s priced mid range, but worth every penny.

Got a lovely Christmas meal at Darcys as usual this year again. We go throughout the year and the food is always very good. Good selection. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will be back again soon

Fantastic food and great service, right in the heart of Belfast

As a table of eight, we were treated to a fabulous offering here tonight. We had booked the three course set Christmas menu, starters included veg broth, deep fried brie and spring rolls, mains included turkey and ham, steak and salmon, desserts included pavlova, Christmas pudding and cheesecake. Sumptuous, mouth-watering, hot and fresh, all served simultaneously. But while the food and wine were excellent, I really need to mention the exceptional service we were afforded. Our main server, Terry as well as Curtis and Jonny were the ultimate hosts, friendly and chatty, casual but professional, knowledgeable and attentive, nothing was too much trouble, they did everything with a smile. The hospitality industry is obviously pushed to breaking point at this time of the year, but these three dudes exemplified everything that is positive, they clearly treat their roles not as a job but as a career

Went with a group of nine , I had shrimp which was great , had spring rolls as started and was spot on ,most of the party had chicken. , which all said was fine , waiting on food was no bother , downside was one server who's attitude wasn't the best , shouting IT DOESNT MATTER to the table when he screwed up what dishes he had his hands didn't help , then he avoided us like the plague lol the other staff where all very friendly, cosy wee spot ..

What a surprise find… Absolutely great quality Irish food… and at very reasonable prices. Try the crab on toast and the Bacon, Cabbage, mash and white sauce washed down with a cold pint of G. Very friendly staff, can’t do enough for you, and to top it all they pull a lovely pint or three of Guinness.

Super good! We didn't have reservations but they still found a place for us! The waiter tried to speak French to us, it was a really nice evening and a good meal! If you go through Belfast, I recommend it!

Undoubtedly the best vegan meal I have had in Ireland so far, probably the best in a non-vegan place ever. It was delicious! Other dishes smelled and looked appetising. Everyone was friendly but discreet, the music was also good and the service was quite fast.

Fabulous restaurant. Delicious food, lovely staff. We were in Belfast for a few days to visit the Titanic museum. The museum was great, Darcy's a very close second. Would highly recommend it.

The food is excellent but there is one guy with a black beard and he is a grumpy, non personel guy. The staff is friendly except this guy. Please tell Him because i will not go back for another meal.

We had a great experience at Darcy's and we will certainly go back before we leave Belfast. Staff were super fun, kind and attentive! The portions were massive for the price (we ordered a sandwich and it contained at least 150gr of good quality meat, completely unexpected for 10£). The place was beautiful and very clean. I personally loved this restaurant. The service was fantastic from the welcome to the goodbye, nothing was too much trouble. The food was outstanding and the cocktails were great too. Coming back in May with my husband and we'll be coming here again.

We came here with a short notice booking, and I’m so glad we did. The food was incredible - everything was delicious and made with love. The salmon was incredible. The service was wonderful too - everyone was so friendly. My mum has raved about it several times since; she’s said it was the highlight of her Belfast trip!

A roast dinner without roast potatoes, non-existent though promised vegetables - all served up with intolerance and a dash of passive aggression on the side. And a long wait to order, despite prompting that we had a plane to catch.

Fabulous and cozy restaurant that serves amazing delicious food. Dishes - mussels and seafood chowder were excellent. The lamb shank was cooked in Guinness stout giving it a special taste. The best was the Darcy special - braised beef and Guinness casserole.

Excellent place to dine. I had seafood chowder to start and if I could I'd have taken a container of it home, superbly delicious. I had Irish stew as a main course, which again ticked all the boxes but as usual unable to finish - maybe should have had the seafood chowder as a main instead of 2 courses.

An Irish restaurant near my hotel in Belfast. It was a popular restaurant and was full, so I made a reservation and visited again. First up was the Irish whiskey, which was very easy to drink and delicious. The seafood chowder has a lot of ingredients, and the soup with the flavor of the shellfish is very delicious. Boxty is a potato dumpling with a hint of garlic that is very delicious and goes well with alcohol. Speaking of Ireland, there is also Guinness beer. The authentic Guinness you drink is really delicious. Last but not least is Irish chicken. Not only is the chicken moist and tender, but the potatoes and asparagus that come with it are also delicious. The sauce was also extremely delicious.

I am in town from Chicago and this is the first restaurant I've eaten at in Northern Ireland. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. The food is outstanding! I highly recommend grabbing dinner here if you're in Belfast.

First meal in NI turns out to be a completely disappointing experience. The chowder was alright but mostly a potato stew. The Darcy's chicken was so dry that I could hear Gordon screaming from miles away. The stew was really salty. The beer was warm, ugh. And to make it worse, it took almost an hour between the starter and mains. The server didn't apologize when asked about the delay and instead, he rudely said "it's coming next" and walked away. Darcy's, you've definitely won a slot in my ban list.

Hi..We had dinner on Sunday evening..and it was beautiful...the chicken was moist .....just the right amount.of herbs..not overpowering...even the chips were perfect....whoever the chef is..keep him.....!.i also have to say..the deserts were gorgeous..and home made..which is rare....the brownie was to die for...I will certainly be back..

Excellent food! Had the chowder and vegan wellington which we can recommend highly. Deserts were OK but not exceptional. Lots of vegan options. Very efficient service. Prices are reasonable for the quality. Reservations are probably a good idea as when we were leaving there was a queue outside.

Nice traditional restaurant, somewhat more upscale cuisine, food very tasty, only the fish cake disappointed us a bit. Portion size was good, unfortunately of the 5 main courses the boxty dumplings were by far the smallest portion and not a full meal

Whao!!! Just been tonight with my wife and daughter. We live in England but go to Belfast twice a year to see family. We always go to Darcys and are never disappointed. Tonight I had grilled salmon on a bed of champ with mussels and prawns with a creamy tomato sauce - OUT OF THIS WORLD. The best meal I’ve had this year. Of note too - staff are always super friendly. Definitely worth a visit. 10/10

Let's start with the food. I had the fish and chips which included a sizable piece of meaty cod that was well prepared. The chips were also crispy, which was nice and the mushy peas were also tasty. For dessert I had their lemon meringue tart which was on special. This was also very good. Service was okay, but it took some time for the food to arrive - especially the dessert. I waited probably 15 minutes after ordering dessert for it to come. Not a deal breaker, but I did expect it more quickly and I was about ready to simply cancel the dessert order.. What was less pleasant was that when I paid the bill it was clear that the management expected a tip. He inserted my credit card into the machine instead of tapping it, which has become typical for other restaurants in Ireland/Northern Ireland in my experience. I would have tipped, but he's so blatantly put the machine in front of my nose with the tip listed that I didn't do it. I did not feel the service was really superior and I disliked having someone push it so much. When I did not give a tip his demeanor definitely changed. It was a less than pleasant ending to what was good food and passable service. Just something to keep in mind if you have this restaurant on your list.

One of the coolest restaurants I have been to in a while. The atmosphere and all the staff were awesome and respectful. The food was well prepared and tasted delicious. I just got the Irish stew and Irish soda bread (simple), but it was worth every bit. Highly recommend eating at Darcy's Belfast.

Given the good reviews we wanted to try the experience last night. We arrive at 8:15 p.m. and a man "manager, waiter, boss" looks at us angry and points at us and talks to the bartender who comes to us to tell us they are closed. There are other ways to welcome people even if the service is over... change jobs, idiot!!

Dinner July 2024. Very good value for money. Hearty dishes. On the other hand, we waited almost 1 hour between ordering and the arrival of the dishes.

Very friendly staff. The soup as a starter is very spicy and very tasty. The fish pot could do with a bit more seasoning but is still very good. This is definitely a good address.

Of the places I've tried in Dublin and Belfast, by far the best! We tried: the soda bread, the boxty dumplings, the seafood chowder and the Irish stew and everything was delicious! Especially the Irish stew. Very friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended.

The food is great, great music, toilets are lovely and staff are friendly. My partner had the Irish stew, which was delicious, I had the honey roast ham which was even more delicious. We are only here for a couple of days, otherwise we'd be back.

Absolutely fab little restaurant. Great food for both my omni husband and my vegan self, delicous and hot. My husband practically inhaled his chowder and i had to stop myself licking the soup bowl. . Comfy ambience , very homey with plates on the wall and grandma's light shades hanging. Service was pleasant friendly and quick. Felt very looked after. Would definitely recommend.
