The Teal Monkey in Belfast

Wonderful restaurant. The atmosphere was very cool. The food was delicious. The Buffalo cauliflower and pork belly as appetizers were grand. We had the steak and seabass for our main course, tender and wonderful flavor. The salted carmel brownie for dessert was a sweet way to end our meals. Nicola's service was helpful and attentive.

Excellent find. Good menu. Friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere. A table of twenty were in at the same time but we were looked after and our food delivered in a good time .

We had been given a voucher to spend here and this restuarant prepares lovely food, (albeit some of the dishes are on the pricey side especially if side items are not included in the price) However we had the Sunday roast which was very nice..... until I asked for some mustard! Nothing wrong until I checked the bill to see that £1.50 had been added for what was a small thimblefull of mustard. I mean.. really guys.. I know you gave to make ends meet but I'd regard mustard in the same way as salt, pepper, vinegar and sauce! You might argue your point about paying for what you get, but set that against losing a repeat customer which is what has happened here. So enjoy yourself at the Teal Monkey.... just don't ask for mustard!!!

We arrived at 4.30pm for our family Sunday dinner. For the first time booked table through First table. Had soup and chicken wings for starter which were just ok. Waited around 30 min between empty plates were lifted and main arrived. Ordered beef Sunday roast , chilli chicken and I got myself beef burger with crispy pork belly. And omg when my burger arrived pork belly looked absolutely disgusting (I have picture attached) ate half of burger and pointed it to waiter/barmen who I think helped with table services as 2 waiters were completely lost and there was no organisation in table service what so ever. Never heard anything back from chef as why he would serve burger like this. Anyways we ordered desserts and again waited about 30 min for plates to be lifted and deserts to come. Barmen offered drink on house for waiting so long that was nice of him. Inside of restaurant is absolutely lovely but food and waiting staff has to be sorted

An amazing restaurant and would highly recommend. My husband and I were welcomed warmly, the food was delicious, service professional and delivered with a personal touch. Would definitely return when we visit Belfast again.

What a little gem of a place! The food was outstanding, the staff really made it though. So attentive and friendly, the blonde (manager possibly) couldn't have done more. Beautiful and clean, can't wait to come back.

Hidden gem, best kids meals I've ever seen, made fresh and kids eat free including brownies and ice cream, well priced for adults and really don't know why place is not busier.. Sunday dinner delicious

Lovely food and service. It's a very nicely decorated space. The management need to change their payment system so the staff can receive tips via credit/debit card. We went to a nearby ATM to get cash for the tip. But I imagine others would just not leave one as they had no cash on them

Fantastic experience. Steaks very good quality and cooked to perfection. Kids also ate free which was a wonderful surprise. Staff helpful and friendly, will definitely be back.

Went there while visiting family in Belfast for Christmas and what a lovely place it is to go for a cracking meal, food was 5 star and the staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us, even did the baby a free little bowl of dinner for us, definitely will be going again on our next visit to see our son 👍

A hidden, small gem of a place in south central Belfast. The interior is designed to be warm and inviting, whether you eat upstairs or on the main floor. The staff are friendly, professional and attentive. My whiskey sour was among the best I’ve ever had. My dinner of butternut and sage risotto with Tuscan fries was excellent, both in terms of taste and proportions. Definitely a must visit if you’re looking for an excellent dinner while in Belfast!

The food and drinks here are amazing. It's a great venue and every time I've been service has been amazing. They cater for non alcoholic cocktails too which are absolutely delicious!

An extremely warm welcome was given to a very nice restaurant. Menu provided plenty of options. Pork belly to start was tasty, as was the slow cooked short rib on Mac and cheese. Overall an excellent dining experience, would highly recommend, great food and excellent attentive service

Booking of 2, on a Wednesday night. I understand that not many people eat out during the weeknights , however me and my friend were disappointed with this place. After seeing great reviews on tiktok we were super excited to try it out. We both got salt and chilli chicken as a main. It costed £16, not including side and this price was really quite outrageous for what we got. 7 pieces of mini crispy fried chicken strip things, on a piece of flatbread. The only sauce was a mayo with what I presume was some paprika flavouring in it to make the sauce orange. Taste wise, the chicken dish just wasn’t hitting the spot, and the food didn’t come out that piping hot freshness that we all like when we treat ourselves to a meal. It really should have been fresh because there was only a few other people in the restaurant. My side was sweet potato fries and although I was given a generous enough portion some of the chips were quite hard :/. Our waitress was a lovely girl, could not fault her whatsoever. Just a mediocre meal and disappointing experience to sum it up !

The Teal Monkey was recommended to us by the taxi driver who picked us up from the airport. We are so glad he did. Fabulous little place, friendly with a chilled out vibe and fantastic food. The short rib mac and cheese was delicious.

Really good night. Walking in the place looked really well. When seated we where served by to very professional women. Food was exceptional. Creme brulee could of had a bit more filling but that's me just be greedy lol. But everything tasted unreal. The prices where very reasonable. Will definitely be back

We came to this amazing restaurant for my daughters 30th birthday. 11 adults and 1 child. What an experience food and drink amazing, staff were outstanding nothing was too much trouble. They went above and beyond to make sure our night was so special a big thank you to Nicola and all her team. They were so professional we will definitely come here again. Also had the added bonus of live music, If you want a five star experience just visit teal monkey.

What can I say? Thank you the teal monkey for the most spectacular birthday meal. From the vibes, the menu, the live singer, the staff & cocktails it was perfect from start to finish. The staff were happy, attentive & kept checking we were ok… asked us if the singers speaker was too loud as we was sat next to it (we loved it but thought it was great they asked). Paid special attention to our 3 year old who can get bored easily 😂 the staff actually popped out & came back with a magazine for her?! Where do you get service like that?? We have been many times & we will 100% be back. Thank you all again special thanks to Nicola & Rachel 👏🏽

Came here as a group of 10 for the first time today - food was amazing everyone of us loved it and the bramble was one of the nicest I have had. Food - reasonably priced, fresh ingredients, cooked to order, beautifully presented with amazing flavours. Good variety to choose from albeit with a quirky yet clever pairings. Atmosphere- relaxed, ambient, pleasant background music, very clean and decor to high standard. We had as starter - sour dough bread with bone marrow butter. Mains - chicken supreme with side of truffle & parmesan fries, Slow cooked short rib with Mac & cheese Would we return - absolutely we have already booked for next month 💕

Crispy duck salad and scallops for starters and mains of duck with gnocchi and salt and chilli chicken were all delicious. wine menu very reasonably priced. Good service and excellent value.

Had a great night at this restaurant - the staff are amazing, location spot on - interior decor is great and the food excellent. Prices, I thought were reasonable - considering what is going on at the moment. All in all - an excellent night out - recommending to loads of people to visit and no doubt will be back again. Service friendly warm professional As a chef people think ill order the fancy things but big bowl of unreal wings and hands down the best steak in the city does me . So glad we went to the Teal Monkey for my mum's birthday. Everything was perfect from service, setting, food and drink. The meat was so full of flavour just fell apart, the sauce with the mussels was outstanding. Desserts are well made and so tasty. Very reasonable were cost is concerned and Nicola and Brian looked after us very well. Brian even went out of his way to make us a French Martini that was not on the menu (so so good). Honestly the best meal I’ve ever had in Belfast. This restaurant is setting some serious standards. Staff are very friendly & up for a bit of craic. By far the best restaurant we've visited in a long time, staff were lovely! Very attentive! Very friendly and the service was prompt. I wanted to add a review before the two girls beside us did and to say I actually thought service was very quick!
