James helped to accommodate us without a reservation, gave us local advice and provided us with the best service possible. The steak was amazing and the cocktails were carefully crafted.

Delicious! The pre theatre menu of 2 courses and a drink was excellent value. The chilli chicken was very tasty and the beef was so tender! Very cute restaurant- loved the atmosphere. Staff were very attentive and friendly.

We stumbled into The Teal Monkey on a Sunday afternoon and discovered their Sunday roast dinners. They have 2 courses for 20 pounds and 3 courses for 24. Not only was the food delicious, they had great vegan options! It was the best meal we had in Belfast during the week we were here.

Called tonight and the hostess was very accommodating for a table for two. We were welcomed promptly upon entering the premises. The music was very fitting and the atmosphere was lovely along with the art and decor of the place. We were served quickly as it was a Monday night so probably busier than the weekends although more people kept arriving and it was nice and lively without being too loud. Prawn pil pil for starters was exquisite with good portion sizes. I went for the red Seafood curry and rice which was very tasty - just the peas were okay. My mother went for the Dahl which was fragrant and they were able to swap green beans for tempura broccoli which she was pleased about. The portion sizes were great and very filling. I would definitely go back and I would recommend to others. The hostess was superb. Thanks for a lovely evening!

What a little gem of a place! The food was outstanding, the staff really made it though. So attentive and friendly, the blonde (manager possibly) couldn't have done more. Beautiful and clean, can't wait to come back. Edit: back for a birthday dinner and the food was outstanding. Best steak we've ever had in our lives. 100% better than top blade steaks. Lovely new staff member who made the night with great service. Absolute favourite place, cannot recommend enough. Nicola is the bread and butter to the place, excellent customer service.

Absolutely lovely little place. Found this place on Google took a chance and was greatly impressed. Nearly gave a 5 star review but two minor issues. It felt like the mixed up the cooking on the two steaks ordered. I ordered a sirloin medium rare and my son ordered the rib eye as medium. When delivered mine looked medium and his medium rare. However the tasted great👍 Secondly ordered the creme brule and the 'crusty was slightly more chewy than crunchy happy to admit that I am being very picky😁

My wife and I just had our meal here and we didn't know what to expect as we've never heard of it. We were so pleasantly surprised. Food was delicious, every staff member was pleasant and the price was excellent. Will definitely be back.

Had a great night here with a few friends. The food was great and the manager and bartender were both super friendly. They also gave us a great deal on some margaritas. Would highly recommend.

I went with my partner and some friends for dinner and drinks and we were very impressed. We each had a delicious main and dessert, nothing to complain about, the food was fantastic! As for the cocktails, we had one with the meal and stayed for a margarita each after. Kieran and the server/manager (I didn't get her name) were both exceptional. Very welcoming and couldn't have done more for us. We will all be back for sure!

I need to tell you about this amazing find. After finding places to eat on TikTok my 9 girl friends and myself decided on here and we we’re so glad we chose this restaurant. Decor amazing, staff amazing and every dish wee tried was out of this world, these guys should hold an award for their service. If you are going to Belfast this restaurant is a must visit. Thank you again for your service we will definitely be back one day. Sorry my pictures do not do this food justice my photography is not a strong point :-)

Work Christmas Dinner, excellent food all round

My partner and I recently visited The Teal Monkey in Belfast with high expectations, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. We felt uncomfortable and ended up leaving after just 30 minutes. Upon sitting down, the waiter handed us a menu and walked away. Within five minutes, she returned with a bad attitude, asking "what do you want?" without any pleasantries or even offering us a drink. I understand that everyone can have off days, as I work with the public myself, but the atmosphere among the staff was dreadful. It’s a pity, as this was our first visit and we had really looked forward to it based on the numerous good reviews. While the food was good, the unwelcoming vibe ultimately made us want to leave.

I visited The Teal Monkey for a Christmas dinner, and while there were some positives, the experience left much to be desired. The Chicken Supreme main course was exceptional—delicious, with generous portions, and perfectly cooked. However, the rest of the meal fell short. Despite repeatedly confirming with staff that the spring rolls starter was vegetarian, I found pieces of meat inside. Whether it was regular meat or a vegan alternative, this misinformation was unacceptable and would have influenced my choice. The Christmas pudding dessert was decent but disappointingly small in portion size. Adding to the frustration, our bottled drinks took far too long to arrive, despite requiring no preparation. While the main course shone, the lack of accuracy in dietary information and slow service dampened the overall experience.

Our Christmas party of 8 was sat by the entrance that only had a curtain to keep out the draft from people coming in. We were not comfortable but carried on as the place was fully booked. A double door foyer would solve this issue and improve customer satisfaction.

The food was really nice, the service was disappointing. When I ordered, the server abruptly told me, “We don’t have that,” which was a bit blunt and cold. I felt like it would have been better if we had been told at the start that certain mains weren’t available but they did do this with desserts which was appreciated. Once we finished eating, we really needed to get the bill, pay and leave, no one came over to check if we needed anything else. There were no staff in sight for a while and the ones who did pass us ignored us. We tried to get the attention of several servers who were standing by the till for about 15 minutes, making direct eye contact with several of them, but they still didn’t come over. This was particularly frustrating because the restaurant wasn’t very busy at all, there were only a few tables occupied, and most had already finished eating. In the end, we decided to get up, go over to the till, and wait so we could pay asap as we really needed to leave. Even then, several staff walked past us without acknowledging us. Finally, a waiter came over and brought us the bill. Thankfully, there was no service charge applied. The food was great, but the poor service, let it down. The staff could really benefit from better training to improve the overall experience. I would still consider going back though as I enjoyed the food and restaurant itself.

First time - will definitely be back. Very nice place with great menu - difficult to choose. Had lovely chili/chicken starter followed by a really great burger Party of four - all very happy.

Staying over the bridge by botanic we came in for dinner on a Saturday night unsure what cuisine we wanted. Teal Monkey offered a brilliant selection of food and drink making a great start to a Saturday night. When we first went in, we had live music which sadly ended really quickly but the playlist after was fab. The portions are highly generous helping the wife devour her cider and bacon mussels starter whilst my salt and chilli chicken was very tasty.The mains of a special surf and turf just missed the medium rare mark for me but made up with the tasty fresh prawns. The wife’s pulled beef tacos were large and very tasty. Whilst the servers were really charming sadly, it took a while to get their attention at times which missed a 5 for me. Perhaps a dedicated server for that area would be better as we had service from 4 different members of the team.

The staff was very friendly, and the food was amazing. The atmosphere was great in it. We were able to keep our table all night, which was great they had a dj on later that evening.

Great venue for food & great service

Was in for lunch today first time in Restaurant. Everything was amazing from we walked in until we left. Will definitely be back . Food amazing.

Arrived there at 5.25 p.m. for a 5.30 p.m. reservation. Our Table wasn't ready as staff were clearing up after a Christmas Party booking. We were seated up at the bar area until a table was ready. No-one asked if we wanted to see the menu or have something to drink while waiting. After 15 minutes we were seated. It was a struggle to get someone to take our order. The staff were apologetic but that's not good enough. Eventually, our order was taken 20 minutes after being seated. Our wine glasses were brought to the table, no wine! That came after we asked the barman for bring it down to the table. 45 minutes after ordering, we were still waiting for our starters to arrive. Another couple who were seated beside us 30 minutes after us received their starter before us. We left the restaurant very very unimpressed. The staff and the manager were not on their game. Avoid when busy!! Would not recommend.

My 1st time here my friend and I decided to have our 1st Christmas Dinner catch up.Greeted by a very helpful young girl gave us menu we opted for the 3courses £30 the food was beautiful roasting hot tasty and plentyful..The creme burley was the ticket.The big down side was it was absolutely BALTIC in the resturant and I'm never a cold person.So they would need to look at this as it's very off putting..

Expensive and you have to wait A LOT to be attended. Music too loud and waiters really bad organised.

Regular customer of this place. Foods always excellent and the breakfasts are amazing. Staff couldn't do enough for you and great value for money aswell with the 2-3 course meals they offer. I got the pork chops and it was a very generous portion and cooked to perfection. Defo recommend to try!

Booked a work outing for 9 adults. Played Pool in Laverys and then headed to Teal Monkey for food. It was a great day out. We pre-ordered the food to help the chef via email and staff had all the info at hand on arrival. One person was a no show and it was no problem and no cost. Staff were excellent and deserved the 20% tip I made everyone give. Live music playing in corner of the entrance hall - sounded great. Atmosphere in restaurant was great - not too noisy. We set upstairs and when I'm booking again - which I will - I'll be asking for table upstairs - seems warmer and cosier. Last, but not least - Food was very good. I had the Beef and it was delicious. Think we've food are go to restaurant in Belfast.

We were here on Saturday night. Nicola the restaurant manager delivered an excellent service with a smile. The staff we dealt with were friendly and accommodating. The wine and cocktails were lovely. We got some starters to share. I recommend the Prawns Pil Pil and scallops. We had the mussels but I personally prefer them de-shelled in a sauce but they were still nice. The chargrilled Foccacia was lovely side to the mussels and Prawns Pil Pil. Our friends loved the Cod dish and the Pork Chop dish. Unfortunately, no photos as we were hungry and everything looked so good. The atmosphere was lovely, slightly dark setting with loads of dim lighting. They have different size of tables to suit couples up to groups celebrating occasions. They had live music on which was brilliant. I'm love good food, service and good atmosphere and this restaurant delivered. We will definitely be back. Which I don't say for most restaurants. It's a must try.

Liked the restaurant overall, my party and I found the service from the lady to be quite blunt and to the point. She would deliver things to the table such as menus and drinks with a heavy handed approach, dropping the items on the table and would say very little to us. We found there to be massive gaps between finishing a course and when our plates would get taken. I wonder if this person just had an off night as I don't think the rest of the restaurant was insanely busy, but again I might be a bit ignorant to what her other responsibilities were.

I had the surf and turf with seasonal greens and the tomato, feta and onion salad, followed by the coconut tart and custard. It was the best meal I have had for a long time. The interior was beautiful and the service was great. It was too loud for conversation, but we were next to a large party and it was Saturday night. Clearly a popular place. Live music was a nice touch.

Fabulous start to finish. A well balanced choice of dishes and drinks on the menu. The food tasted fantastic, the service was spot on, the atmosphere was just right and it was excellent value for money. If we were staying longer we would be dining again, but as it is this will have to wait for our next trip back. Thank you for a great evening!

Came in for dinner on a Wednesday night. Bit of an odd mix of food on the menu but seems to have something for everyone. I had the Thai red seafood curry and my partner a lentil dahl. Service was great and quick. I can't understand why the place was so quiet!

We booked a weekend break in Belfast and after some google searching, decided to book an evening meal at the Teal Monkey Restaurant which was only a 10 minute walk from the Hotel. The menu was very wide ranging from pork, steak, seafood and tacos so something for everyone. We had the sweet chillie chicken starter, grilled pork chops and tacos which were excellent. Top marks for service. All the waiting staff were warm, welcoming and very friendly. Could not fault a thing. Would fully recommend. Well done!!

Food here was delicious. We came for the set menu Sunday roast and at 2 courses for £20 this was the best value and tasting roast we’ve had in Belfast and we’ve had more than a few! Highly recommend a visit.

We went twice in two days for breakfast. On the Saturday it was quiet and the service was good. I had Eggs Benedict and my partner had an omelette. Both were very good. On the Sunday it was busier and the music was louder. There was one waitress who was very friendly and was working extremely hard, however she had a lot of tables to cover so the service was slow. There was an item on the menu that they couldn't do, however the chef did not tell the waitress this until 10 minutes after the order went in. I had the avocado on toast with poached eggs and my partner had smoked salmon and scrambled egg on toast. Again both were very good. Would definitely recommend!!

We ate here for breakfast. Good portions, looked great on the plate and tasted beautiful. Very well priced- you’d struggle to find similar quality in Belfast for the same price. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend

The place was packed , but that did not stop the fabulous attention from staff 👏👏. The best service we have had in a long time, food was amazing & flavoursome, drinks were flowing at a great speed. Will defo be back, best bottomless brunch we had in belfast. Price did not effect the quality r quantity. Give it a try.

Been here 3 times now for bottomless brunch and can't fault it. Really good value. Menu has been the same but I've had something different each time. Had Hake on Friday and it was delicious. Victoria our waitress was lovely and our wine was topped up when asked. I've recommended to so many people and will definitely be back.

Went for brunch before a friend's hen party. Two course's and unlimited wine, beer or prosecco for two hours for £30 or for an additional £10 you could upgrade to cocktail's, which of course I did. The staff were running a bit behind when we arrived so we had to wait for our table however, the staff made up for it by being very friendly and attentive and never letting our glasses empty. The time we missed was added on at the end. The food was very tasty with large portions and the only fault I had was that the music was far too loud. We couldn't hear each other talk and despite asking for it to be turned down several times it kept being turned back up again. I will do definitely try the place again though.

Enjoyed the Teal Monkey as a great venue for a 21st birthday party- very welcoming and great decor (minus one flickery lightbulb). Definitely would be back!! 💙🐒

Sat in Friday evening for a meal, so disappointed in the meal, just wasn't up to standard for example cream brulee wasn't cooked properly, should have had a hard crust but it was soggy, I could go on but I will generalise, I won't be back

We had a fantastic time at The Teal Monkey on Saturday past. The cocktails and food are both phenomenal. Two of us got mains and one of us got 2 starters that were to come out as a main. When the waitress realised the starters came out without the mains, she offered complimentary drinks which we were really appreciative of - service was great and staff were very friendly. Guy singing was great too, thanks guys we will be back :)

Good restaurant made a good date :) recommend steamed mussels, the Thai soup inside of it was nice and fresh. The spring roll is also good. All the portions are great.

What a gem to find! We came for dinner on a Friday night, and was so good that we returned Sunday evening. Really unique interior, friendly staff, and amazing food!

Some of the staff should be sacked. Literally one of the worst meals/staff experience I have ever had. The bottomless drinks take 40 minutes to come and every time you order another the staff argue with you. One staff member in particular a young woman with jet black hair in a pony tail physically argued with our party numerous times and was heard making rude remarks about our table while at the pass. Not worth the money, the food and staff are absolutely shocking do not go.
