The best restaurants in Yorkshire and The Humber

Best Chippie since I was a kid. Been looking for the best for 55 years. Also makes their own cucumber and onion vinegar and supplies pepper which I don’t often see. YUMMY

Without question the food here is good. The tastiest sandwiches and cakes. However, the reception can vary depending on who is working. On our last visit the dark haired lady serving couldn’t even be bothered to say Hello and was actually a little rude. Felt rather unwelcome and uncomfortable whilst spending £20 on 3 sandwiches. We think we’ll spend our money elsewhere going forwards.

Took my daughter and granddaughter to York , as a Thankyou my daughter took me to the Mad Hatters Cafe, all themed on Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatter's Tea Party. Great fun lots of oddities in the place. We had lots of fun

We stumbled across this place whilst wandering around the old town. It’s near the swing bridge on Grape Street Small menu so we tried most of it - everything we had was great. Loved the kimchi dumplings and the sushi. The bowl of delight which I forget the name of was delicious as was the sweet chilli chicken. All freshly cooked and tasty! We will return to try what we missed!! It was very reasonably priced, friendly service and can’t recommend enough.

Brilliant food and service. Parking outside. Fully recommend. Cafe is clean and bright. Good value for money. Will come again.

Han pasado muchos años desde la última vez que visitamos este restaurante y comida para llevar. Aunque el número de lugares rivales para visitar y comer sigue aumentando. Pedí el número 7 de comida de pollo, y los amigos pidieron similar. Todo muy sabroso y goteando en jugos en abundancia. Lo que mejoraría la experiencia general sería que el tamaño de las porciones del kebab fuera mucho mayor para tres personas muy hambrientas. Aunque esto no nos detendría cuando volvamos a la zona.

Our first visit yesterday,we were in dewsbury and did a quick Google search for a locatioion for breakfast. We both chose The Turkish Breakfast and it was delicious,really tasty,and the portion size was just right. My partner brought home some of the sweet teats and they were lovely too. The husband and wife couple who were running it were polite smiley friendly folks who gave us great service. We will be going back again

He visto una banda fabulosa recientemente y espero más noches aquí. El personal es muy amable y servicial. Nada es demasiado para ninguno de ellos. Siempre limpio y ordenado y el jardín trasero es tan bueno para la familia

Called in here for some food on a mini pub crawl. Really friendly staff who were really accommodating, even with our idiot friend who seemed who complained that his pepperoni topped pizza had pepperoni on it. Nice range of drinks and the pizzas were fantastic.

On my birthday, we always go to Akbars in York as it's my favourite Indian restaurant outside of Bradford. I was disappointed to find it is closed and I really couldn't decide where else I wanted to go. Living in Sherburn In Elmet I've been to most of the Indian restaurants in this area, and while they are all OK, I have never been blown away by any of them. I stumbled upon Jahan Lounge just through doing a Google search on local Indian restaurants and thought I'd chance it, and thank God I did. The restaurant is tucked away in Scarthingwell Golf Club. There is ample parking too, which is handy. you need to go upstairs in the club building to get to the restaurant. The restaurant is tastefully presented with a nice ambience, and there is a good selection of drinks for all at the bar. The food is literally to die for. It is up there with the best curries I have ever had. I had lamb chops for starters, which were perfectly cooked and so tasty. For my main, I had a keema karahi, which wasn't on the menu, but when I asked, the waiter said, " No problem, sir, we can make that for you" The curry is what blew me away. It is probably in the top three meals I've ever had in my life. The chef here is at the top of their game. If you like a good curry, this is the place to go. I am so glad I have found Jahan lounge because I no longer need to drive all the way to Bradford anymore, I have found a hidden gem right on our doorstep.

Me alegro de poder encajar en otra visita a esta joya - he estado deseando otro viaje desde que lo probamos hace unas semanas. Las envolturas de falafel son increíbles, rellenas con el falafel más sabroso y un montón de ensaladas y encurtidos muy frescos. Tan grande que casi podríamos haber compartido uno, y a tan buen precio también. Nuestras bebidas - una granada y zumo de naranja y un plátano, dátil y leche de almendras - estaban recién hechos y excelente también. Volveremos pronto!
