The best restaurants in Thornton Dale Ryedale Yorkshire and The Humber

My wife and I had a really pleasant evening. The atmosphere was nice. We dined the food was absolutely fantastic reasonable rate. I would highly recommend a visit.

We had a lovely meal here in the village. We had a bread and olive starter, with a pizza and some prawn linguine. The food was good, and the place has a lovely atmosphere. We tried it as the only bad reviews are people not getting a table when it suits them. Book via social media and you get a table no problem. We will be back, that is for sure!

Lovely place really, but at the end of the day it's just ice cream.

Just spent three nights at this beautiful Inn, staying in one of the garden rooms. The accommodation was spacious, comfortable and fully equipped. There was a good choice of breakfast options, with locally-sourced food being cooked to order. The atmosphere in the bar in the evening was lovely, with a log fire and fabulous food. Levisham is a quiet village (one road in) that is located in beautiful countryside - the perfect location to 'get away from it all'. We will certainly be re-booking at the Horseshoe Inn.

Second visit this year another quality meal. Two lovely dinners one of beef and the other Lamb and the Fish and Chips all three meals where delicious. Service was excellent and the staff moved us to allow the dogs to lie down. The chef certainly knows his stuff. Only one of us could manage a dessert which not only looked delicious I'm assured it tasted delicious as well.

We visited the village with friends and family, went to stop at the Lavender tea rooms- wish we hadn’t! The owner was so rude and obnoxious- we were told to visit the cafe across the road because we were in a group (despite tables being free and available outside). This place obviously makes money due to their location, because it definitely is not due their manners and hospitality! Shocking.

5/5 for Pizza Land. We were staying in Pickering for the night and found loads of places to eat closed before 8.30pm, we found pizza land 5mins away from our hotel and it was amazing. I would truly go back again.

Almost closing time when we arrived , they made us bacon butties even though the kitchen had closed ,the staff made us really welcome and the bacon butties were amazing lots of bacon inside in a nice large brown bread bun simply awesome will definitely call again only earlier next time great atmosphere lovely helpful staff nothing was too much trouble highly recommended a visit , also a lovely gift shop to browse through all in all worthy of 5 stars.

This establishment obviously does not like tourists, i expereinced a different level of treatment and dialouge than was given to a local. The server was not helpful, responding in very little responses. The fish and chips were poor, not cooked enough - i hate sloppy batter even though i requested well done to be cooked. A poor experience and WILL not use again or recomend. People that work in jobs that serve customers really damage the business if they are not happy. This guy was not happy and resentful.

It's like finding an oasis in a desert. This place is lovely. It's clean, quick and the food was great and reasonable. Located in the village part of Dalby Forest. Approx 3.5 mi into the woods from Thornton-le-dale. The trail is marked but recommend taking a map as well. For cars it's pretty obvious with a car park nearby. The village area is accessable for everyone. After the walk in from Thornton, this was a lovely half way stop. Very much enjoyed my wrap. Friend had sandwich, also very good. Service was spot on. Ordered veggie and American hot pizza for delivery to Premier Inn, Pickering. Food was delicious. Will order again when next in Pickering.
