My daughter has a holiday home on maustin park. I came down for my first look at the holiday home and decided to have a meal in the stables. The bar and restuarant was lovely, the staff were so friendly towards me and the food its self was amazing. I would recommend the stables to everyone. Thankyou for the great night.

We thought we’d try this place, based on the excellent reviews. We were glad we did! This restaurant/pub is excellent! It’s a slightly unusual location, tucked away at the end of a caravan park in one of the quietest spots within easy reach of the Leeds. You’re really in the countryside here, but only 20 minutes from the city. There’s a great, friendly atmosphere, the food is delicious and plentiful, and it’s very good value. Definitely as good as they say!

A really delicious Sunday roast! They have a family friendly room which is great when you have young kids.

Just stayed the night at Boars Head hotel with my wife. We both had a wonderful stay. The room was spacious and very comfortable , clean and well appointed. We ate at the restaurant and the service and food were excellent. The bar had a great atmosphere and we enjoyed the period surroundings in the lounge with an open fire. The beer and wind were great. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this hotel, restaurant and hotel bar to anyone wanting to visit this part of Yorkshire. Breakfast was also amazing! Thanks to all the hardworking staff. Keep it up your all doing a great job!

We eat out most Sundays and this used to be one of the more special ones to visit. Always a bit pricey but worth it. However today was very disappointing, service was shockingly bad and food wasn't much better. Waitress was borderline rude and inattentive. Food was only just warm, hardly any meat, and carrots and parsnips that looked and tasted like christmas leftovers. Desserts had shrunk and at £10 looked woefully small. Don't pay extra for crackling...its as tough as old boots... brought it home for the dog and even she wasn't impressed! At over £72 for two, we feel pretty ripped off and will be taking this off our lists of regulars.

Unfortunately the Railway Inn is still closed with apparently no date for reopening. The Railway Inn is owned by Samuel Smith's brewery and no further information is available.

It's a fine place but a strange xenophobia exists. Not manly, in my view, just strange. (I was once challenged to a fight for no reason, which I ignored.) Guess I have a high voice. Can't think of another reason. Basically, the pub is a throw back to the 1970s. No problem, I was born in 1955, & refuse to be intimidated. However, as I walk in, order, & sit by the great fire, I don't expect strange looks & comments just out of sight. Pubs must be inclusive. Hence this review. Otherwise, no problem Great setting & good value for money.
