Ate here because we were staying nearby for a couple of nights. The food was really very good, and it's a lovely old 17th century pub with a lot of character. Definitely recommended.

A change is as good as a rest - for about 10 years we have stopped half way between the New Forest and Edinburgh staying over at the Windmill in nearby Linton - and time for a change - and our stay at the Scotts Arms was excellent. A friendly welcome, immaculately clean and refurbished bedrooms - our evening meal served in a cosy and buzzing restaurant - the food was well presented - portion size was spot on. A good night's sleep in comfy beds ( good pillows) and a great breakfast. A really good first experience - a super establishment, in a great location - very professional. We would recommend and will return - thank you.

Thought the staff could be friendlier and the yorkshire puddings had flour falling out which had not been mixed properly and was not even cooked. When we complained no one could be bothered coming back on it. They will not keep their customers at this level.

Lovely pub and restaurant in quiet village. Good menu, good service and friendly staff. Outside beer garden when weather permits. Had a lovely meal there to celebrate our son’s university graduation. Nice walks around the local area and pub has printed walking routes available.

Terribly disappointing customer care. Table was too close to fireplace and nearly knocked myself out on it! Did they care? Not a lot. I also challenged a small item on the bill and nearly got my head bitten off 😡

Somewhat bland, chicken special was dry, mashed potatoes were reconstructed. One starter, a mousse, was small, without bread and when asked we received a slice of dry bread( no butter ). Standards appear to have slipped - unfortunately.

Called for lunch while out house hunting. Lovely food, definitely more restaurant quality than pub food. Gastropub would definitely describe. Look up country pub and there should be a picture of this! It has a decent car park, plastic holders outside containing printouts of various walking routes. The loos are clean and well equipped (you know what I mean, girls!). There's a lovely fireplace and various signs for music nights etc. I'd probaly move here based on the pub alone! Service was excellent and the food delicious, slightly expensive but not overpriced. Menu had lots of options and specials on the board.

Me and my mum stayed at the Scotts Arms Inn for 4 nights in June 2024. We absolutely loved it there and will definitely be coming back. Our whole experience of the inn was fantastic. The rooms were beautiful, clean and comfortable, the service from all staff was outstanding and the food (breakfast, evening meals and Sunday roasts) was incredible. I didn't want to leave! I highly recommend visiting the Inn!

A lovely location and attentive staff but a huge disappointment with the Sunday lunch the poor quality did not reflect the price because it's not cheap.! The desert came with cream that had gone off and was rancid! My partner did receive a glass of wine on the house to be fair but it failed to detract from a disheartening experience. I'm sorry but we wouldn't visit again.

Our walking group goes every Christmas for Lunch, our organiser told us all the prices for the food, it had gone up again the Fish Pie is now £18, she had looked at the Wrong menu it had said Pie £16 they wouldn’t let us have the meals for the price she looked at, so she’s cancelled we won’t be going there again, they are getting very greedy I know things have gone up but is taking it too far, usually around 25 of us so they will probably get some other mugs to pay it.

Stayed overnight for family party in the next village. A lovely village pub, close to perfection in every way. Staff were welcoming, friendly and provided excellent service. Guest rooms have been recently refurbished and provide high quality en-suite accommodation: definitely exceeded expectations for rooms in a pub. For our evening meal the menu offered a range of typical pub grub plus some specials. Food was well presented, tasty and good sixed protions without being excessively large, as can be the case in many pubs, at reasonable prices. The breakfast menu offered a reasonable range of cooked options but no starters (cereals, fruit, granola, yoghurt etc.). I enjoyed my Royale (smoked salmon, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce). Would definitely recommend.

Food was very tasty, but small portions and way over priced. I had the steak and it was very tender and I know they are weighted before they're cooked, but it was very small. I had to have 2 desserts to feel full and I'm not a very big eater. I ordered a side salad without peppers due to a intolerance and when it came, the first thing I saw was green/red peppers. So she had to take it back. But the replacement came very quickly.

Old school curry house, which I personally like. Food was abit shy of the mark considering this is a highly rated curry house in Harrogate. Onion bhaji was a re-fry, not good, salad was basic, chicken balti overspiced and drowned in oil. Prices the same as anywhere else not great value overall.
