Went there to meet friends for a catch up. Ask to eat upstairs if you can, there’s more tables up there so the atmosphere’s better. I had the spicy meatballs to start that were really tasty, Wifey had salt and pepper calamari tempura to start followed by a calzone pizza which was huge, she couldn’t finish it. I had sea bass and king prawns for mains. Lots of prawns, shells were split butterflied so were easy to eat. Excellent food and worth the price. Menabria Italian lager on draught was nice too. All in all we feel like we’ve found a regular spot to go to. Pity we’re not that local to it but we’ll def go again.

What a great place. We had two toasted tea cakes. And two drinks, best tea cakes we've had for a long time. Very friendly place, service excellent and people very friendly. Will definitely go back when in the area. If you're passing it is worth a stop.

I have ordered my son a meal from here a few times over the last 7 weeks. Everything has always been very nice, however today it was very poor. The chips smelled of cheap burnt fat and he said they were horrible and the burger was thrown together and slopped with sauce. He left most of it. It wasnt cheap either, alot to pay for cheap poor food.

The food was really good but so expensive. A fillet (which was brilliant) plus veg and potatoes at nearly £50 is a ridiculous price to pay. Won’t be eating there again at these silly prices. They really do need a price review if they wish to keep the restaurant open in the near future!

Had an amazing Christmas dinner in Christmas Day with friends. Three course meal, all hot and very well cooked with fresh ingredients. The staff were warm and friendly, and everything was timely served. It was easily great value for money, and we left good tips for the staff as we felt it was well deserved. Made for a lovely day out.

We attended a party event in the marquee. They had crammed so many people in it was almost impossible to move around. Fair play to the waiting staff who had to squeeze between the tables to deliver the food. The disco lights and loud music were on as we were eating, so couldn't have a conversation and could hardly see our meals. The food was not great, the veggie wellington was just rice inside pastry, served with cremated potatoes. There was a smoking area in an adjacent room and cigarette smoke was blowing into the main space. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience and we will not return

Went here with a friend and his wife on the 14th Dec for an evening meal, as we have done for the last couple of years. It's always been good before - but this time.... something has changed. My friend and my wife ordered the garlic mushroom starter. When they came, they were nothing like they were last year: just bits of mushrooms, fried, without garlic sauce. My wife ordered steak, done medium well. Blood was running out of it when it arrived. My friend's wife ordered the steak and ale pie. I couldn't see any pastry at all - it looked like a plate full of dog food, and she left half of it. I had the small turkey Christmas meal, which wasn't too bad. That is until I awoke early in the morning, with agonising stomach cramps, eventually throwing up an hour or so later. I've been on small helpings of bland foods and plenty of water now, for three days, and I still don't feel fully recovered. As I said at the outset - something has changed, and not for the better.
