First time eating here after a long hike, and it was the best possible choice. The food was delicious, portions big, and the staff members were so lovely, and they created such a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Proper traditional pub. Stone building with flagstone floors and beams. Friendly staff. Great choice of beers and drinks. Sunny courtyard/beer garden at the rear. Prawn cocktail is awesome. Main courses very tasty - emphasis on locally sourced meat - and portion sizes very generous. Great value for money.

We used the Tea Rooms car park (field next to it) as we were completing the Roaches and Ludds Church route. After a long hike, this is a very welcomed spot for respite! There were tables inside and benches outside, due to the nice weather, we decided to sit outside. We had three coffees and one cake ordered. There are hot and cold food options, cold and hot drinks and some icecream for the really warmer days. Service was quick enough as it was busy. To have a rest and grab a drink and snack after a walk, this place serves its purpose. Not too expensive, friendly staff and ample parking.

Fantastic location but a shame about the food. We were 5 hungry cyclists. We were told they were running down stocks of food because there was a function the next day. There was one vegetable pastie, one vegan roll and both disgusting as microwaved. I had the last scone which was stale. This left others with a piece of cake and a bag of crisps. Such a shame as I for one will not be eating there again!

On a tour in our van and called in here after visiting another local venue ( newly refurbed) where we didn’t feel very comfortable. As soon as we walked in we felt at home. Proper lovely local pub where the local farmers were having a Sunday afternoon meal and drinks with plenty of room for our van and their tractors. Like someone else has said not fine dining but plenty of good hot food with excellent staff who went above and beyond for us. Beer was great according to hubby. Will definitely come back !!!! Thank you
