We were doing the Chrome Hill walk and called in for a drink before setting off. The ladies in the cafe were so welcoming, giving advice on the walk and even lending me a walking pole. This is a quaint, traditional tearoom with homemade cakes, quiches etc. Everything coming out of the kitchen was fresh and delicious. As a community hub there was also local produce to buy, including items to raise money for mountain rescue. Charming little place, well worth a visit, and even better when we bought cakes to bring home too - lip smackingly good!

Having visited before we knew that we would not be disappointed - afternoon tea is perfect here. The ladies are welcoming and their attention to detail is exemplary - the home made food is fresh and delicious with a great variety of savoury and sweet items. Arranged on a 3-tier plate this is positioned so that each guest has the whole offering immediately in front of them, no worrying about "are there enough sausage rolls for each of us ?" Of course there are. This is an afternoon delight to be enjoyed. Boxes are provided for 'take-homes' - you have to be really hungry to eat everything in one sitting. We will return again soon, thank you.

Had a lovely experience at Chapel Tearooms on Sunday. A group of 10 of us piled in for a mid-hike coffee. We ended up ordering cakes and scones as well. The staff were very accommodating, setting up tables and chairs outside for us. The cakes were all reasonably priced, beautifully presented and tasted marvellous. The variety of scones is impressive. We sat in the sunshine and had a merry time. The sheep dog from the nearby farm even paid a visit which was a bonus. Thank you to all at Chapel Tearooms for being such a friendly bunch and providing a great pit stop for walkers like ourselves. We will be sure to pay you another visit when we are next in the area.

A lovely little cafe in quite a busy village (access point to walk Chrome Hill). The ladies were really friendly and helpul and there was a great choice of home made cakes. We had tea and cake, and took a couple of cakes home with us too! The Bakewell slice was amazing!

This was our first visit to this lovely tearoom and definitely won’t be my last . I do love my cake and this is the best . The ladies are generous with their slices too . We had the cream tea and honestly one of the best scones I’ve tasted . We also chose Bakewell tart and ginger cake with a pot of tea . There are lots to choose from - lemon cake , fruit cake , coffee cake along with toasties , quiche , soup , sandwiches, sausage roll . Pay this tearoom a visit on your next walk you won’t regret it , I did leave my walking pole too . Friendly welcoming ladies.

We were staying over in Leek on a Sunday evening, wanting to sample some Staffordshire oatcakes the following morning, but the oatcake shop we wanted was closed on Monday! Poor planning. But luckily this place was open at 7.30 am and we found what we wanted here: oatcakes with various fillings such as bacon or tomato; all with cheese. If you've not tried them, Staffordshire oatcakes are very different to the Scottish biscuit that most people associate with 'oatcakes'. Here, they are a soft, flexible wrapper like a pancake, or perhaps a chapatti, made from a thin layer of a yeasted oatmeal/wheat batter griddled until it sets, then wrapped around your chosen filling. We took a pair of oatcakes with cheese and bacon, and a full English of 2 eggs, 2-3 bacon, 2 sausages, 2 toast, beans and tomatoes, plus extra hash browns. This was all in a takeaway tray - there is no table service here. It took about 10 minutes, which is fair enough as everything is cooked to order; but we were the only customers at that time. I imagine at busy times there could be quite a wait. The food was excellent, piping hot as you'd expect with it being cooked to order; and good value too, under £10 for the 2 breakfasts described above, though coffees added a bit more. Highly recommended.

Both the steak and chicken dishes were delicious and cooked to perfection. Though they didn’t look like large portions, they were surprisingly satisfying. The candied carrot cheesecake was absolutely lovely, while the banoffee pie didn’t quite meet my wife’s expectations—perfect excuse for a swap! In the end, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

A substandard meal and service, we had a 45 minute wait for our main course, the plates and food were barely warm. The food was badly cooked and presented, vegitables floating in water, weird roast potato's. no seasoning etc. Desserts were good but within minutes of clearing the table we were asked to vacate the table, including an unnecsessary personal comment. We still hadn't finished our drinks and could have been invited to move to the bar.
