Lovely country pub with excellent food and service.

Staying in Warslow, we tried the village pub, it was OK. The next day we passed Reform on the way to Leek, rained all day and traffic jams seemed to clog the town. Our homeward journey passed Reform again, so we dropped in. So glad we did, they're dog friendly and nice to us too. Good selection of beer and cocktails. The main meal, (pork loin escalopes, excellent chips and veg for me, steak and ale pie with veg and chips for Sue) was better than any pub food we can recall, the sweets were generous and delicious (try the huge, home made cheese cake). The price (£47 including drinks) was less than the previous nights' meal. Go to Reform, and you'll see what I mean. Oh, and ask about the name.

Our 1st time back in so many yrs we can't remember, but pleasantly surprised. Food was delicious, starters garlic bread, soup & blk pudding all lovely, I had lamb shank which melted in ya mouth with delish gravy & veg, hubby had chicken with Stilton & said it was gorgeous, grandson had Chicken Au Poirve & he thoroughly enjoyed, chips were lovely only 2 desserts because I was full choc brownie devoured & meringue sundae again clean dish. Really enjoyed it & will definitely be back when in the area

Today we had a lovely meal at the reform Inn. On arrival we received a warm welcome, the service was amazing, the meals came quickly and were all delicious. We had the turkey Sunday lunch and the gammon. Compliments to the chef and to the staff for making our meal out so enjoyable. We will definitely be back

Absolutely fabulous, completely different menu to most dining restaurants,and like eating at home.

My wife ,dog and i booked a table at 6:30pm on a Friday The menu online looked promising and different from the normal pub grub ,we turned up early and had a couple of drinks and then were escorted to the dog friendly area ,which was close ish to the bar. There was a great atmosphere in the pub with people having after work drinks . when we were given the menus . We were pleasantly surprised by the addition of a specials menu which i ordered from . Both my wife and i agreed that this was one of the nicest meals out that we have had in a long time , The staff were really friendly and it really made our evening. The walk back to the campsite was a bit dicey though 😬

This is a lovely pub with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. We had a great experience coming here with our toddler - friendly service and brilliant food.

Have had a lovely time here on my holiday with husband and his mum, friendly staff, good quality food, and a lovely place to visit. So I would recommend to everyone to check this out. Xx

We booked for eight adults and three children and the person taking the bookings couldn't have been nicer. She asked that if possible we should let them know what our menu choices were the day before arriving, so we did this. When we arrived we had a big circular table in a separate section of the restaurant, they made us very welcome, and after drinks were ordered and delivered our starters arrived (the black pudding bon-bons went down a bomb!) The staff (all young but in no way inexperienced: asking what beers were available didn't phase them, no "I'll just go and ask" but a recital of the draughts on offer) easily coped with our odd demands (extra plates, more tomato sauce, and even a little bowl of strawberries for the three-year old) happily. The main course arrived promptly after we'd finished the starters (everything was correct) and the quality of all the food was fantastic (my partner, a bit of a cheese and onion pie connoisseur, said hers was the best she'd had and the chips were excellent). I had the vegetarian curry (sweet potato, spinach and chickpeas) which was creamy and tasty. All in all a brilliant meal out, with staff who couldn't have been nicer or more capable. Well, our return visit, after a year, was equally as good as our last visit. Excellent food and lovely service. Our granddaughter had gammon off the children's menu and we don't think an adult would have complained about the size of the portion. 3 starters, two adult mains and the children's gammon, one dessert shared between two, and a large glass of wine for under £75.

Went to the Reform Inn last night for a meal, and just wow ! We've eaten there in the past way before the current owners took over . We've always found the food good, but the place always felt cold and clinical. Well what a transformation ! The pub is now decorated lovely, warm and cosy. The food was absolutely delicious, and there is so much choice, had difficulty trying to decide what to eat . The service was excellent. The staff were lovely. I really can't recommend this place enough , and we really can't wait to go back .

Steak and ale pie is to die for. Stilton chicken was amazing! It was great to see the owners walking around and interacting with their customers. We went on a very busy Saturday evening without booking and they’re still made sure they could squeeze us in and we was looked after!

Honestly some of the best food I've ever put in my mouth. Had 3 courses and all were amazing. Service was great too. Will return here for sure.

We went on 'steak night'. The food was cooked to perfection and was excellent value for money. Make sure that you leave room for desert, you won't be disappointed. The only minor niggle I had was my chair was incredibly uncomfortable, I need a little padding for my delicate posterior.

Wonderful Countryside Pub Superb quality food from a menu that provides great variety, with many options available. The staff were incredibly friendly without being over the top, allowing you to enjoy your food and company, but still remaining on hand to cater to your needs. Atmosphere was lovely as well, plenty of people enjoying what truly is one of the best places to eat in the moorlands!

Meal for two on Saturday night. Good value, big portions, gorgeous food and brilliant service. Lamb special was definitely special. We will be back soon for sure :)

The quality of food is great, one of the best pub food I had in recent time. Bit pricy though. Recommended place for visitors of Elkstone and surroundings.

I went with family and friends and as a large group you would expect a little delay at times but no it was absolutely spot on. Food was top draw and service was so friendly and welcoming. We will all be back very very soon.

We came for Sunday lunch and it was one of the best we have had. The food was outstanding, the best turkey we have ever had! The pork loin was very tasty too. The kids loves theirs too - I am only sad I had no room left for a desert! The staff were all very friendly and helpful and we chatted with the owner for a few minutes - a really lovely guy. Only in the area for 2 weeks but hoping to get back here again before we head home!!

Arrived at the reform inn and my first thought the place looked a little tired and thought I had made a mistake...However when inside a total different story the food is excellent and staff likewise thanks for a very enjoyable afternoon.

Camping close by we were delighted to visit The Reform. Warm welcome from lovely, friendly staff and the food was delicious. No wonder it was busy. Really appreciate all the gluten free options too.

Everything about this venue is amazing the views, surroundings, food, drink, atmosphere and the personal connection you feel with the staff especially Simon and Beth and compliments to the chef it’s a must try

The air b & b host recommended this place and said they do lovely home cooked food… the thought of a domino’s was enough to kill me off after last night’s monstrosity…. Anyway the reform inn. Service was unbelievable… it was attentive and friendly and helped create the atmosphere… The bar and restaurant is a vibrant place and well kept… all areas are clean. The food itself was absolutely spot on. My self and my son couldn’t fault one dish! So glad we came!

They say you should never judge a book by its cover, we stumbled across this little pub after a wet day in the zoo, only to find that the friendliest staff found us a table for 9 and nothing was too much bother, the service and hospitality was very welcoming, we all ordered different food, and what can I say it was amazing,we didn’t stop talking about how good the food was all the way home to the midlands, thank you so so much this experience was outstanding, and the value was really good.

Never left a pub feeling so full in all my life from just a single meal. Pub had a decent sized car park with a beer garden to the rear that has plenty of seating and booths that are well spaced - you won't feel like you're sitting on top of anyone. We sat outside but seemed like plenty of space inside as well. Dog friendly inside and outside. Pub staff were all lovely and really helpful, quick to take your order etc. The food itself was the best I've had from a pub. All of it was fresh and piping hot and generous portion size. We had the cheese and leek pie and the lasagne. The cheese and leek pie filling was excellent and the pastry was phenomenal. The lasagne itself was massive and the best I've had. Just highly recommend overall!

Seriously, everyone that works at the Reform, offer an amazing service. Everywhere is so clean and tidy. (It sparkles even the glass) Everyone is so clued to allergies, that nothing is too much trouble. There are not many places around, where I can sit and eat and relax. I can at the Reform and that is worth its weight in gold. Thank you. Jean and Roger.

This is a fantastic restaurant, the food was exceptional, definitely a step up from good quality pub food. The service was top notch until we got the desert menu at which point we seemed to be forgotten, it took a while to get a waitress' attention, something that also happened to other diners. Like many establishments understandably there is hard flooring and few soft furnishings which sometimes makes noise an issue if you are unfortunate enough to have someone with a loud voice and braying laugh nearby. I seem to have said more about negatives than positives, the negatives were really minor, the quality of the menu and superbly cooked food far outweighed these, I would definitely go back and highly recommend.

Visited on a drive out to the Peak District and called in for lunch. Lovely pub, welcoming team and fantastic food.

Fantastic food - all 3 courses we had were faultless. We will definitely be going back.

We went late to eat (at 3:00 p.m.) and the kitchen was open. The food was very delicious, we ordered a chicken dish with Stilton cheese which was delicious. The garlic bread was also very delicious. They had children's menus, for example battered fish fingers. The staff was very friendly although the service was a little slow.

It's a bit of a characterless place but on a thoroughly miserable wet lunchtime it was warm and welcoming. Good service and a really nice small rump steak and chips - perfect for a lunch. Dog-friendly too.

Late booking for 7 accepted at short notice on Easter Saturday. Staff very friendly and very good. Food was excellent and served quickly. Would certainly visit again if in the area.

They have a great menu which accommodates various needs (gluten free vegetarian). They were able to deal with our large party of fifteen (just needed us to order ahead which was entirely fair!). The staff were friendly and helpful. Almost everyone enjoyed their food (the chicken tarragon was a little bland but still totally edible). Will definitely go back if I'm ever in the area again.

Had a drive out & came across this lovely place.The smell of the food was delicious as soon as we walked in.The atmosphere was warm & friendly.Lots of drinks to choose from,from alcohol to alcohol free, wines, spirits, cocktails & coffees.The service was excellent & the young man was so polite & genuine with his lovely attitude.Will definitely return for food as it looked delicious.The toilets are very important as I like a clean toilet & walking in these toilets certainly didn't disappoint.Beautifully decorated & very clean.Looking forward to our return for food.

First time visiting The Reform Inn and we definitely weren't disappointed. The pub is beautiful and staff were really helpful and friendly we even got a little tour of the place by the owners ( I'm just nosey ). Onto the food, my partner had the rump steak which she told me was perfect and just melted in her mouth and the peppercorn sauce was delicious. I went for the pork loin escalope which was amazing, the flavour combination was also delicious and a very generous portion all at a very reasonable price. We travelled about 50 mins to get there but it was well worth it and we will definitely be calling in again. Highly recommended, thanks guys.

It was the first time visiting this very nice pub /restaurant and it won't be the last.the food and staff were awesome. Very reasonable prices too.a good selection of beers and wines.

Me and my partner came here after it being recommended by our Airbnb host. It did NOT disappoint, this was the best pub meal I've had yet!! Firstly, the pub is nice and open, plenty of seating and decorated wonderfully. It was lovely and warm inside and we were greeted with a smile! Even the bathroom was decorated nicely. Me and my partner both went for 3 courses. All portions were generous, hot and satisfying. I don't have a bad thing to say about any of it. We had prawn and brie starters, (huge) steak and chicken Stilton mains and ice cream for dessert. The homemade Stilton sauce, I must say, was fantastic in particular! Bonus points for the ice cream being locally sourced. We will definitely be finding an excuse to come here again when we can, big thanks to the staff for their wonderful and friendly service! 😋❤️

1st visit & having read the reviews were looking forward to Sunday lunch. We were a group of 8 & felt very comfortable on a large round table set in an alcove. Staff greeted us & most helpful, gave us time to order & served drinks at the table. The food was excellent, piping hot & delicious choices. Seem we hit a change over of staff so did loose their way a little with sweets, additional drinks & finally obtaining the bill, but overall a great experience, could recommend & would definitely use again. Thanks guys loved it.

We've been here a few times in the past, and the food is always so tasty. I'm on a mission to try more and more stuff every time we go. The chicken Stilton and the cheese and leek bake are definitely my favourite foods here. Both are so amazing and just melt in your mouth.

Food is to die for, absolutely gorgeous. However service is poor. Waiting for long periods of time with empty drinks glasses even though staff were plentiful and stood around a lot. Then we ordered desert, it never came..... the table opposite ordered theres and it came out straight away. We waited for what seemed an eternity then gave it up as a bad job. I had one very disappointed 11 year old and a bad tempered OH to deal with, great thanks!

Friendly service; excellent food at a very good price

Myself and my partner regularly visit the reform for a date night and every time it turns out to be a lovely evening. The whole place is cosy and very well presented as well as all the staff being attentive and friendly. The prices are very reasonable and the food is fantastic. Tonight I had soup of the day which was roasted peppers and tomatoes which was beautiful, followed by lamb shank. It was cooked beautifully and the flavour of the red wine sauce with vegetables was spot on. My partner had the rump steak and it was massive and cooked perfectly. The peppercorn sauce was spot on also and overall the evening meal was fab. I would highly recommend this destination to anyone who likes good quality food in a great atmosphere.

Went on last Saturday for lunch after seeing the great reviews. Plenty of car parking space. staff are friendly and professional. But it took more than 15 minutes to take down our order. Which was not that great. Management need to hire more staff during busy time over the weekend. But that can be forgiven as the food came out was amazing. I ordered chicken Tarragon which was one of the best dishes I had in a British pub. The highlight of the day was the cheesecake with hot custard. It was the best one I had so far. Definitely recommend this place.

Had a very nice meal at the reform Inn , veg was cooked perfectly just enough crunch not over cooked, chips were cooked to perfection nice and crispy, the chicken was cooked lovely not dry but nice and juicy which was covered in a very nice creamy pepper sauce. The perfect example of a well run country pub. We ate here twice during a weekend in the Peak District. Both the normal menu and the Sunday menu wowed us. Portions are generous and food is outstanding quality. Very dog friendly and the staff and owners are among some of the loveliest people you could ever wish to meet. On recommendation by Stu, we visited here for an evening meal. The prawn thermidor was to die for. The atmosphere was very friendly and the staff were very welcoming. The place is dog friendly, much to the delight of Tessa, our cocker spaniel. We will definitely return.

Visited here whilst on a trip with my partner. Really good atmosphere with what seemed like plenty of locals. Food and drink selection is really good. If we ever pass by again will definitely return. Highly reccomend to anyone in the area.

Party of 3 for Sunday lunch. The restaurant & it is, in my opinion, more of a restaurant than a country pub that does food. Professionally greeted, promptly taken to the table, attentive service & trust me it was extremely busy. All 3 of us had the roast, with different meats, all very well cooked & tender. Amazing homemade yorky pudds, good selection of vegetables served separately.... All in all a great experience...Definitely will be returning...
