Lovely pub with a good atmosphere. Pity about the landlady who is unbelievably abrupt, rude and shouldn’t be anywhere near the hospitality industry. Needs to think about how she speaks to customers.

Absolutely 1st class considering they were feeding a party of 48 of us without any pre ordering of food. Fabulous service, food and staff professionalism.

Christmas dinner 5 stars The staff here made our Christmas the service from start to finish was superb, we had 3 courses and all 3 courses were delicious, and well prepared and served Definitely booking again for next year

Awful rude service! I’m stunned. My friend and her son arrived to be put on an unsuitable table. She politely asked to move and was told a categorical no. There were many other tables free. Then when I arrived with my son, I instantly saw the table was in the thoroughfare, which my son would not cope with, so I asked again. This was met with a rude, snappy server, huffing and puffing in annoyance. I’m veggie with a recent lactose issue, and I’d checked they gave a separate vegan menu before we booked, again when I phoned and was told that when my friend asked for the said menu, the reply was “no we don’t have one”. It even said they do on the main menu, so I went to the counter again to ask for this. They all (3 servers), looked confused, annoyed I’d asked and scurried off. We asked for drinks, which took 3 times to order, then when we ordered food, one item was not available. No issue, give the boy some time to relook to choose. Oh no, can’t do that, they had to hover, rushing him. I asked for her to come back in a minute. She said no. I told her he needed time without pressure to re choose, she said no again. She finally went after I said you will be waiting longer if you stand over him. My son’s milk didn’t arrive, I had to get that from the counter myself, when ordering more drinks the server (all random ones) kept disappearing so quick once we told them one drink we had to grab their attention AGAIN to order the next, this happened 4 times! I have never experienced anything like it. Servers running around like headless chickens, rude with no obvious system of server table plans. The food was not great, water was warm, and the place was just unwelcoming. Never again. Oh and my son wanted to take his nachos home, the server almost threw the tiny box at my friend to sort that herself! Really? Not good.

Ate here recently for the second time in 4 weeks. Really enjoyed both times. Food nicely cooked and plentiful. will return.

Planned a trip out to this place. Got there and it wasn’t even open even though Google said it should have been. Disappointed. 😔 (Seems I’m supposed to be a mind reader from the reply). Can only leave a review based off what I find, and when we had traveled especially to visit this place and find it shut how else am I meant to review it. 5 stars? 😆

Was very busy when we went, no where to sit and have a drink. Will try another visit and hopefully will get a table!

Birthday meal for 3 generations of family. Plenty of choice on menu at a very reasonable price. Service was friendly and efficient without being intrusive. Would definitely recommend

Proper cafe serving great breakfasts I had the full monty and will not eat for a week. Well cooked tasty and washed down with tea you can stand a spoon up in.
