Visited today with a coach party. The food was excellent. Staff lovely, friendly and helpful. Everyone enjoyed the visit. Well-done to everyone at the pub.

Myself, Dad and family have just experienced the most wonderful,helpful and considerate over night stay at The Red Lion, Mark very kindly assisted me with my elderly Father and all the staff went over and above to make our stay one of the best. Hotel rooms , clean and comfortable perfect for their use, lovely bathrooms spotless . We all had full English breakfast , hot and very tasty, plentiful tea, coffee ,toast , the lovely lady who served our breakfast was very attentive . Would not hesitate to stay here again , pub and area was lovely .

I stayed at the Red Lion for 2 nights. Travelling on my own, as I was on a training course in Wombourne. Easy parking in the big car park. Check in was super easy, the room was basic, but had everything you could need. It was super clean, and so was the en-suite bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the room nice and quiet. I felt safe. Night one I ate in the restaurant. The food was excellent and the staff really welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was really good, the choice was great and agin the staff were really friendly. It rained a lot on night 2 and there were local floods, and I panicked about not making it to my training course, but again the staff at breakfast were really helpful and reassuring. If i am ever out that way again and need to stop I would definitely book again. Thank you 🤩

Not been here since they had a tank then fire engine children were a lot younger then it has undergone a massive refurbishment over the years but still retains it’s country charm food was excellent staff were very friendly and efficient really enjoyed the experience will be back soon I would highly recommended the red lion .

We went for a birthday Sunday lunch. Nine of us. We have never had a bad meal. Not one single complaint. We asked to see the chef, Matt. We spoke with him about the meal and pudding we had. Four of us had the bread and butter pudding with custard. We all said it was the best BB read and butter pudding we had ever had. The service is always perfect. Very competitive prices too.

Absolutely delicious lunch here! One of the party had the fillet steak and he said it was the best steak he's ever eaten! Service was brilliant and accommodating (and over and above) for our toddler

9 of us met here for our annual Christmas lunch and we all agreed it was the best lunch we have had for a long time Most of us had the Turkey dinner which was excellent, the turkey was perfectly cooked with all the trimmings and plenty of veg, only small complaint was the carrots were a bit undercooked for me,the general feeling was it was the best Christmas dinner at a restaurant that we had had Christmas pudding also excellent Considering how very busy they were the service was spot on as were all the lovely staff especially so the manager Well done to all at the Red Lion we will definitely all be back in the new year

Held my wife`s 80th dinner party here with 26 guests. All 26 had a fantastic meal , all served at the same time together with the drinks order . The night went without a hitch and we were all well looked after and would recommend the Red Lion for a party of any size .

This is one of the best pubs in the area for food and has been for some time. Consistently good. I had kedgeree for main, beautifully cooked smoked haddock, not mixed with the rice, with a mild curry sauce and shredded carrot. Baileys tiramisu for pud, which was great although could have done with more Baileys. But that’s just me! Service was a tad sloppy with orders forgotten but I can forgive that with pub grub so good. Everyone else’s looked great too, Sunday roasts, pasta, duck. In the past people might have thought this place was a touch pricey but everywhere else seems to have caught up in price. Worth going out of your way for.

This was our second visit and this place is a MUST if you want excellent well presented food by friendly staff. The atmosphere is also excellent. And to go along with all this they have some cracking real ales. The Enville Ale especially was beautiful. We will be back soon.

Four of us (two couples) stayed at the Red Lion for two nights over the weekend. We visited the Glass Museum in Stourbridge, the Rock Houses and Iron Age fort at Kinver Edge, the local airport, and Halfpenny Green vineyard. We dined and breakfasted here on both days. The rooms were very clean and on a par with a Hilton hotel, the shower was excellent, and the full English breakfast amazing. Dinner on both nights was superb, with friendly and attentive service, and a great choice of food from various cuisines from English cod or skate, chips and peas, through Levantine monkfish with cous cous, to a variety of vegan and grilled steaks. We had wine and other drinks on both nights, and the bill came to less than £175 per head for the whole weekend. Amazing value.

Nice welcome, large seating area so we didn’t feel squashed in. Fairly large menu which is well priced, great food and good service.

I visited the Red Lion with 6 work colleagues for a special occasion. The pub was chosen due to its proximity to Halfpenny Green golf course and from several excellent recommendations. It certainly didn’t disappoint. The pub is situated in a small village just outside Stourbridge with ample parking to the side. It has a restaurant and a separate bar area where there were a few locals enjoying a drink after work . There is a pool table and a dart board if you fancy having a game whilst you’re there. There is a pleasant outdoor garden / seating area and they apparently have 6 guest bedrooms. We began our evening with a few drinks in the well kept garden area , then went inside to peruse the menu. The menu is varied and offers everything from steak, fish, vegetarian and even vegan dishes. I had the tempora battered prawns as a starter and a medium rare fillet steak for the main. The food was presented beautifully, cooked to perfection and tasted absolutely delicious. We could not fault it at all. Everyone said their food was great and it was served quickly without fuss. I really don’t think there were any leftovers on our plates, so that says a lot. The staff were lovely and the evening was just brilliant. I would say that the price of the food and drink is reasonable but not cheap. The boss paid for us all this time but I would happily go again and pay for myself . Perhaps for a special occasion, not an every day meal out at the pub as it’s not what you call pub grub. It’s better than that.

A wonderful stay again. Lovely room with great amenities. Staff are all cheerful and friendly and happy to help with anything. Breakfasts are absolutely delicious and even when my son asked if he could have pancakes (not on the menu) they sorted it out for him for the next 2 days which made him so happy. We hope very much to be able to go back again next year.

Thank you to all at The Red Lion for making our recent stay so enjoyable. From check-in to check-out the staff and management were so welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The meals and rooms were excellent and we would stay there again without any hesitation whatsoever.

Just had a fabulous weekend staying at the Red Lion. The staff were wonderful they made us feel so welcome, always smiling and nothing was too much trouble. We also ate dinner in the dining room on the two nights we were staying and the food was wonderful excellently cooked and excellently served. Just stayed 4 nights at the Red Lion Inn which was first class in every respect. A group of us go there every year tc play local golf courses. The Red Lion Inn is an ideal place for you to do this. The management and staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly and the food in the restaurant is magnificent.

Stayed 2 nights DB&B with golf friends. Great place to stay. The rooms are good. The food was excellent. An interesting menu and all nicely cooked. Breakfast superb both the choice and quality. Bar excellent and the staff were all very friendly all for a reasonable price. Lovely outdoor area if the weather is nice. Lots of car parking too. All in all, no complaints whatsoever and I would definitely stay again if in the area.

We come from walsall and we drive down to the red lion every couple of weeks just for a drink and it's the bestest pub to go to. Staff are very lovley and welcoming and polite. We were a party of 8 family members. From the off the staff were amazing. I am in a wheelchair and the staff couldn’t do enough to assist us all evening. What can I say?! I booked my husband’s surprise 40th Birthday meal here for today for 28 people! The quality of the food (compliments to the chef),the outstanding service and amazing staff are second to none! They have done a fabulous job and made our day so very special. We have been to the Red Lion 4 or 5 times recently and the cote de boeuf was either sold out or not on the menu. Finally cracked it last night, welll worth the wait. All of the food is good, choice of draught beers not so good as it used to be if you are into dark ales.

Where shall we take our two friends for a treat.We remembered the Red Lion as we had been many years before on a regular basis,but moved to Shropshire,to far away.

On arriving we were shown to a table that was a bit cramped and chairs had been added on the end of the table like we had been squeezed in although the table had been booked for some weeks. The menus were dumped in the middle of the table, every time someone walked past my husbands chair constantly got knocked. We ordered the starters which didn't all come out at the same time. Waited a while for the main course which also didn't come out together. 4 of the meals were cold served on cold plates, when we complained the staff seemed quite taken aback, the plates were taken back and changed there was no apology, the other members of our party continued to eat there meal while we waited for ours to come back. The replacement meals arrived and the staff made sure we had got everything we needed but still no apology. It was a celebratory 80th Birthday meal for the family which was very disappointing and my father in law ended up apologising to the staff for us sending the meals back.

Having visited here with friends and having a lovely meal I suggested returning with my family. We had booked a table and was shown to it. This is where we found the service stopped. I had to go and ask at the bar to have our order taken. Kind of got the feeling that if you weren't a regular you didn't get the same level of service. The food was delicious and this is what would make me return.

First time visit but won’t be the last, food was delicious and service was very good, only minutes between courses and everything was freshly cooked and the restaurant was full with every table occupied, good selection of drinks and I thoroughly enjoyed my rhubarb and ginger gin, you can also stay here as they have rooms which if they match the standard of the restaurant will be excellent and car parking was not a problem at all with plenty of spaces.

Came here travelling with work but I was made to feel very welcome the hotel is very clean. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. Evie made sure you had everything you needed at breakfast which was superb as were the evening meals. I would definitely return when I’m in the area again. Thanks everyone

Yet another very good meal never disappoints. It was extremely busy last night with quite a few big parties in but that did not reflect on the service or food.

We are a group of 9 golfers and have just spent four nights at the Red Lion in Bobbington playing local course including the fantastic two at Enville. Our stay at the Red Lion was excellent from beginning to end. The quality of the accommodation and food and drink was superb and very well priced. We were extremely impressed with the management and staff at the hotel. I don't think that I have ever been received so well and everyone was very friendly and helpful. The staff are a credit to the management and make this place a fantastic place to stay. The menu is extensive and the quality of the food first class. Great value for money and the portion sizes mean you will never be left feeling hungry. We left on the 6th June and are already in the process of making a return booking next year. It really is that good!

This building is situated in a country road in the outskirts of Stourbridge and about six miles from the city of Wolverhampton

A long wait for ok food. I had the smoked salmon, prawn salmon and new potatoe salad. My salmon was dry and overcooked. However the remainder of the salad was good and filling. Pub lacked character.

Walked in at 1450 on a Friday for one quick pint with 2 other people. To find nobody at the bar after waiting a few minutes. A guy got up from a group of people and told us we cant have a drink from behind the bar as closing at 1500hrs. Yet all his friends had a minimum of one fresh pint plus other people in the pub had fresh drinks. This has never happened to us in a pub before and if this is the standard of the place then will never visit again

My wife and I have been to the Red Lion many times, we have stayed in their executive suite twice. It really doesn’t matter how many times you visit they always seem to recognise you and welcome you. There is a really good selection of local beers including the local Enville Ale. We’ve eaten here on many occasions and the food is fabulous. Last Sunday we had the chargrilled lamb and wow! it was beautiful.

My wife and I have had dinner at the Red Lion many many times and never been disappointed once. If we have a family party the Red Lion has always made the evening a special event all the meals arrive together hot served by the friendliest of staff .I have written a few reviews over the years concerning steak night on a Wednesday, this is a great favourite with both my wife and myself and is always looked forward to as a mid week treat. Where else can you have 2 steak meals, a bottle of wine served by great staff in a great atmosphere for £28.00. If you have never been give a try

Situated in a lovely rural area. We booked four rooms here following a wedding at Blakelands on 9th March 2019.

We stayed here for a wedding nearby. The staff are very friendly and accomedating. We had a nice lunch. Great service. The room was clean and tidy Ecellent huge breakfast in the morning with lovely service.

Well all I can say is what fab food plenty to choose from on the menu everything we both had was amazing. The staff were pleasant and polite made us feel welcome and very chatty.

Visited with a large group of ladies for a hen night. The waiting staff and lenders were fab, really friendly and welcoming. The restaurant itself and bar were homely and warm and the food was delicious. Pit group were quite rowdy and I’m sure not what they are used to but they looked after us very well. Would thoroughly recommend and will definitely be back again.

The place was booked this morning for a group of 10 and we were surprised to get in this afternoon. When we arrived, we had a long table reserved in a lovely corner and promptly ordered drinks. Menus followed and the selection was plentiful. Our order was taken by a bloke, a lovely bloke from Burnley who then turned out to be the owner. A really nice person and we had some banter which was a lot of fun. The food arrived piping hot and quickly and it was tasty and very well presented. Portions, both starters and mains were delicious and for a large number like us, all the food arrived together and freshly prepared. Similarly the desserts were gorgeous. More banter with the Lancashire bloke which was good fun. The other waiters and waitresses were lovely and friendly. The bill was reasonable for what we had. Just under £300 for the 10 of us and those who were not driving has a few drinks too. Try this place, you will not be disappointed. There is also a hotel attached to the premises which is run by the same people, so the next time we go, we will certainly book a room too. I cannot praise this place enough. Decor was very elegant too!

Pre booked a table for 6. Excellent service at the bar. Wide range of drinks. Real ale was top class. Rib eye was cooked to perfection and everyone else had great meals and plenty of it. 3 chicken stroganoff, 1 Cajun chicken and a lasagne were all devoured. Staff were attentive and very polite. Visited The Red Lion in December for a Special Birthday Meal, The food was very good and they had no problem with my food allergy and dietary requirements. All staff were very attentive and (although they were busy) service was excellent .
