Absolutely delicious meal. Couldn't believe the amount of food. All really yummy. Would highly recommend. Also their cakes and brownies are amazing too and we visit every weekend for them.

We have had afternoon tea and breakfast, both recently and in the past. The food is consistently excellent and the service is always friendly and helpful. We really enjoy coming here whenever we are down in England visiting family (we live in Scotland so unfortunately only get here a couple of times a year, but would come much more often if we lived nearby!)

The staff were welcoming and looked after us without being intrusive . The food was excellent - the sanwiches freshly made with generous fillings and came with some salad. The scones and cakes were also excellent. In fact we couldn't eat everything - almost too much food ! And there was also unlimited tea and coffee. I will definitely go there again - the meals other diners were eating looked so tempting.

We had not been to this tea room before, and decided to give it a try. There were three of us, and we wanted a coffee and a slice of cake. The website said that it closed at 3pm. We drove over there and went in the tea room at 2.35pm. The girl at the counter said that she couldn't serve us as they were closing soon, but we could have a coffee to take out. Her attitude was dismissive and disinterested. We declined as it was a cold day. Won't be going back.

Met my dad in Kinver for a walk and lunch. This lunch was a great reward after a big walk around the Edge. Super friendly team, dog friendly, lovely sunny covered garden terrace out the back and delicious freshly cooked food (we both had grilled cheese sandwiches, mine was garlic mushrooms and swiss cheese, my dad had steak, mushrooms and cheese). Would certainly recommend. Sadly we were too full for cake 😭 but had room for pistachio and hazelnut chocolate icecream 😋

Went for afternoon tea we were not disappointed. Lovely food in old surroundings. When you appreciate how old this building is you totally get how it has been decorated. The.chic has been beautifully achieved, you could be back in the forties. Kniver is lucky to have this little gem with the added bonus of free parking just round the corner.

Living locally for 6 months, I was always on the lookout for a place to visit when my parents arrived over for a short break. The Olde House Tearooms went beyond special. The food, the friendly welcome, the atmosphere, and above all, the value. Really sorry we hadn't found this place earlier in our stay in the area. Highly recommend.

Stopped off here 100 miles into a point to point bike ride. Ordered the Ploughman's with an Americano and a Milkshake. Service was quick and staff very friendly. Milkshake was outstanding and the Americano came in a big mug and was nice and hot. However the true marvel was the ploughman's, as I was sat outside I must have heard 6 different people commenting how good it looked and rightly so. If you're passing through or in Kinver for the day I would fully recommend stopping here.

Very lovely place to eat. Amazing cakes which cannot be rivalled. Fantastic place to go if you have a sweet tooth. Paninis and wraps are of high quality too and come with chips or side salad. Chicken Tikka wrap is very tasty. Nice environment and friendly staff. Not much to fault. Last time I ordered savory, but I was in a hurry. I wanted to order cake but staff were busy and I couldn't get their attention so had to pay bill and leave. However cannot complain at because of the quality offered at such a reasonable price. The staff are very pleasant too as are the surroundings.

Having previously visited here with a friend, I decided it would be nice to celebrate my birthday and take my family. We tried to book online but the request was, that if it was for the same day, to phone which we did. We were told that they weren't taking any bookings for today, it was just walk in. So we made the forty mile round journey to be told, by a very sassy youngster, that they were full. I asked if we could return at some point and the response was a shrug of the shoulders and '20 minutes?'. This was fine, we went for a walk and returned in 20 minutes to find that there was now a spare table and it was being given to someone who had just walked in. (I should have hung about in the doorway and ignored the looks from the staff!) Another young girl asked if we were wanting a table as they were only available if you had booked. I explained that I had tried to book but had been told that it was only walk in. She was apologetic and to be honest, the young girls that were working were doing an amazing job with the amount of pressure they were under. However, some of the staff need to lose their attitudes and if you're fully booked, say so if people ring to book. It will save them a wasted journey and you a negative review. In respect of your reply: I think the basis of my one star is that I wasn't made aware that you wouldn't be able to cope with the customers that you were going to receive. I cannot rate you any higher than that as I didn't get to experience the food, service or atmosphere! I wasn't told that you were fully booked, I was told that you weren't taking bookings for today, it was just walk in. I agree, travelling such a distance without trying to book wouldn't be advisable, that's why I phoned in the morning. The difference of you saying you are fully booked for today and saying that you are walk in today meant that I did travel that far without a booking because I was led to believe that there wouldn't be an issue with you catering for the demand.

Please wait here to be seated - said the sign. Such a disappointment to arrive at a place that's been recommended with my mom, to be made to feel unwanted and unwelcome at 1.45pm on a sunny Thursday afternoon. My mom was feeling very uncomfortable as the two ladies standing in the kitchen just ignored us whispering and looking at their watches. I checked the opening times behind me which stated till 3pm. A young girl came, took some plates behind the counter to the ladies in the kitchen who quite clearly gave her instructions as to what to say to us. "Do you want food?" She greeted us with. "Yes please, is that ok?" I replied. "As long as you order it in the next two minutes as we're closing" she stammered. My mom's response again was let's go but I said "You close at 3pm we've got over an hour, we only wanted a sandwich and a piece of cake". We followed her to a seat and was given a menu. Having already studied it, we knew what we wanted so I called her and ordered. She went off to give the ladies in the kitchen our order but promptly returned, clearly embarrassed stating "The lady who normally cooks the bacon isn't here today so the other ladies said they can't guarantee it will be well done!" That was my final chance, so we got up and left. Thankfully finding another lovely cafe that made us feel welcome and didn't make us feel like an inconvience. I understand that you might want to close at 3pm prompt and people arriving to eat an hour prior to this may delay you but there are ways and means to inform your customers. I'm sure we are not the first to be treated in this way and I can only say we won't be back, even though it was recommended. So sad when businesses are fighting for customers to stay open.

I'm so sorry to put a negative review but I do think its good for people to have honest reviews for all sorts of things to help them decide whether to visit or not. We love a Saturday lunch out, it's our thing. Found this place online, looking to add another cafe to our list. The reviews online looked great and we were sold by the pictures of homemade cakes. When we arrived and stood in the doorway, we realised it wasn't really for us but having been spotted by the staff didn't feel like walking back out. We were shown to a table. The decor is going for shabby chic but as my husband said there is a difference between shabby chic and shabby (🙈 I'm so sorry to be harsh, but it was our honest opinion). It is very dated. Plug extension leads above us on display, very plastic looking flowers in pots, a strange glass spray bottle on the table with the condiments (I've no idea what that was but it smelt perfumey!?) Hoping the food would make up for it we ordered a tuna mayo sandwich, a bacon, Brie and Cranberry panini and a pulled ham sandwich, with 2 lattes and a can of coke. The food came out and one positive was it was nice and hot. However, my husband said the ham sandwich was quite tasteless, my son said the tuna sandwich tasted funny (I think we may well have realised after its because there was no mayo mixed in with it) and my panini was not great. The panini was the thinnest I have ever seen and a bit over toasted. It literally snapped like a crisp on biting into it because it was only as thin as a crisp! The side salad accompanying the sandwiches was quite nice though. We didn't really enjoy the coffees but then maybe that's just personal taste on that one as we don't like it too strong. After lunch we decided against the cake which had been one of our main reasons for trying here, paid and left. I'm afraid its not one we will be adding to our list of places to revisit. EDIT - review edit following owners reply. I'm afraid your response was made in upset and anger. My review wasa little scathing but I will repeat it was an honest review. I leave reviews quite regularly and always leave good ones where due. Can I suggest that, if you don't wish to receive a negative review, just don't seek out reviews at all. You have to be able to take the good with the bad. You are quite right, you have many good reviews., great. Our experience however was not great and I should have just as much right to share that experience as anyone else. You of course are able to respond however you choose too but, a bit of advice for you too, if you want to try to turn around a customers poor experience, maybe don't go on the defensive on a public forum. You will now never have the opportunity to turn around that negative review into a positive one from me.

My husband, grandson and I had the pleasure of visiting the Olde House Tearooms recently and we were thoroughly impressed. The extensive lunchtime menu offered a diverse range of options that appealed to everyone's taste. The staff's warmth and friendliness created a welcoming atmosphere. Their commitment to ensuring our visit was enjoyable was evident throughout. The food was delicious. The bacon, brie & cranberry panini sandwich, in particular, was one of the best I’ve ever had. Portion sizes were remarkably generous, and the thoughtful gesture of boxing up leftovers for us to take home added an extra touch of hospitality. Booking a table in advance proved to be a wise decision, as the tea rooms seem to be a very popular destination for both locals and visitors to Kinver. We are very much looking forward to our next visit, we're considering making the tea rooms a regular dining spot. The impressive menu, exceptional service, and delightful food make it a standout destination.

We are a group of people who have been using this tea room for over a year now. Thankfully, we have found a new place to go as we won't be visiting this establishment again, as they don't really make us feel welcome and clearly they don't want us there. The food and drinks are good, but sometimes what comes out of the kitchen in front of you, isn't what you ordered, for instance, ordering oat milk when it's clearly not. Treating customers like they are stupid, "you cant have a tea cake today because our plug sockets don't work" We have found that staff there are rude and have poor coping and mechanisms when they cannot deliver a service with fairness, this leads to customers feeling ridiculed and treated differently. For instance, if you order food, you are treated differently and deemed more important than if you order just drinks. What should be considered is that the people who come in every week for drinks like we did are spending more money than a group of people who come in and purchase a meal but only goes in occasionally. Customer service is about treating every customer equally and fairly no matter what they order.

I would like to echo the thoughts of my friend Pippa. Whilst the coffee is excellent with a wide choice available the "welcome" borders on hostile from at least 2 regular members of staff. After hearing such lovely things about this place from numerous friends. I am so disappointed. Visited this morning and was “greeted” by the most unfriendly, unwelcoming member of staff. She made it quite clear that she didn’t really want us there. We hadn’t booked, as I didn’t think we would need to. The place was practically empty and tables had been booked for much later in the day. Totally inaccessible for me with my disabled child. The member of staff made absolutely no effort to enable me to get his chair through the door, my friend came to help open the door properly while she just stood by and watched me struggle. Would have stayed longer and ordered more if she hadn’t been so icy. Won’t be returning.

It was okay. Food was fine but service was very erratic. Staff looked super confused and lost whenever questions were asked. Food for table of two were coming out at different times even though we ordered similar stuff (cheese toast and panini). Had to ask for cutlery which took ages to arrive. My food was getting pretty cold at that point as it came out first. I kinda wanted to try their cakes but by the time we finished I realised they were shut already as everything took so long. I completely understand that things happen when the place is busy and I don’t mind waiting for things at all. But I kind of expect things to at least come together, such as two meals and cutlery. I hope it was only a one off as the reviews are great for this place from what I’ve seen.

First time visit today after a long walk over kinver edge and friends and myself were looking forward to a cup of tea and cake. The tea was great but all of us commented on how stodgy and heavy the cakes were ( we had 2 chocolate brownie 1 x aero brownie and a kit kat biscotti cake ) none of us finished any of our cakes off as they were just over the top sweet and stodgy. And sorry to say not very nice to eat, i have had cakes from supermarkets that taste better, so wont be coming here again for tea and cake. I did notice cakes left on other tables barely eaten so it just cant be me. Otherwise nice busy tea room, low beams so watch your head and a unisex toilet on site. Seating indoors and out.

The scone was so large i needed a second cup of coffee. 26 minute's after request still no coffee. They were extremely busy but Gary well staffed so there shouldn't have been a problem. We had my 3 year old grandson there who was so well behaved but needed to leave once we had finished. I went to counter to say I no longer needed the coffee the assistant tried to help by giving me a take away cup but I didn't require that. So I said no it took to long coming as I walked away I heard the cook repeat what I said , so I said yes thsts right. I felt uncofortable . I paid the almost £50 bill . Went with a friend for breakfast. On entering plenty empty tables. We were ushered into their new room and left for quite some time. Eventually asked for our order we were then told it was a 35 minute wait for food. We agreed this was ok. However 35 mins turned into 60 minutes. When I asked how much longer it would be I was told it would be another 20 minutes. No apology whatsoever. We were then told that they had a lot of take away orders which took priority. I have been there many times but the shop is now swarming with young people with poor customer attitudes. She basically said you can pay for your coffees and leave the food? What kind of attitude is that? On paying she sarcastically said enjoy your day. Well I would but you’ve just wasted 2 hours of it.

I have visited The Olde House Tearooms on two occasions now and both times have been very enjoyable! Our first visit was in between lockdowns, when visiting my dad (who is local to the area) and all Covid restrictions and measures were in place and adhered to throughout. The service was lovely and the food - amazing! I couldn't get over how adorable and quirky the whole place was with its gorgeous garden area and low-beamed ceilings inside. I was really surprised to see they were dog-friendly too and vowed I would return with our fur-baby on our next trip south. Alas - a whole year later - and we were back with our whole family and the dog :) Service, once again, could not be more friendly and the whole team were smiling, chatty and efficient. Our dog was treated to his own "hot dog-late" and a tub of doggy ice cream! He was given lots of attention and definitely enjoyed himself! Our meal was incredible and followed by some seriously delicious cake! Highly recommend The Olde House Tearooms to anyone local to or visiting Kinver. Beautiful little tea shop in a village setting. The seating in the back garden is so tranquil on a sunny day.. listen to the birds singing whilst indulging in a delicious home made cake and a pot of tea. Friendly staff. Clean .

Nice place to have food and drinks. Non dairy milk is available + vegan food options which was welcomed, though unfortunately on the day I went there were no vegan cakes available. The staff were friendly and the place overall is very dog-friendly, our dog got complimentary dog biscuits which was a lovely treat for them. I'd definitely pop back here when revisiting Kinver in the future.

A lovely treat. We've been here in summer past and today were able to go for lunch in the pretty garden. Friendly staff who were diligent with all the guidelines without spoiling the experience. Can't wait to go back.

I popped in here with my Sister, Niece and Bob the dog. We sat in the garden, had great service and were well informed of the do's and don'ts regarding social distancing etc... Our order was taken quickly and the food and drinks all arrived in a good respectable amount of time, can't fault it. My sister and niece had lovely looking food and said it was great but the reason I felt compelled to write a review was down to my welsh rarebit on toast. It was amazing!!! something fairly simple , done so well was an absolute delight that I will not forget for a long time. Thanks to the staff who looked after us so well.

Visited for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Both had bacon sandwiches (made with fresh local bread) and mugs of tea. Always feel comfortable there as all the staff wear face masks (and have been since reopening). We ate outside in the garden. The establishment is dog-friendly both inside and out. We resisted cakes on this occasion, but can testify that they are as good as they look.

I have discovered the Olde House Tearooms and I love it. The staff are so warm and friendly. They make sure you are happy with the table they offer, the food is outstanding as well as the service. It is DOG friendly which is perfect for the beautiful walks surrounding The Tearooms and they provide doggie treats as well. On leaving, can I do so without buying a few slices of cake? NO, its impossible they really are unbelievable.

Walked in wearing masks at 11:15 and asked for two breakfasts, told they stop serving at 11:30 and therefore wouldn’t be able to order in time - despite us knowing what we wanted and it being 15 mins ahead of time. We weren’t offered anything else - you’d think in this climate, an extra 2 breakfasts to give the kitchen with 15 mins notice isn’t too much to ask given they must be struggling more with all the restrictions. Didn’t seem phased that they let us down and seemed they didn’t want our custom.

My husband and I walk in Kinver every weekend and love to treat ourselves in the tea rooms after our walks. They serve breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea but the home made cakes need to be seen ( and tasted ! ) to be believed. Lovely staff and good to see rigorous COVID controls in place.

Went in and asked for an English Breakfast with my partner at 11:15 on a Friday to be told breakfast stops at 11:30...we responded well it’s quarter past so we are just in time...The young girl behind the counter despite it being empty told us we wouldn’t make it in time for 11:30 yet we were standing there at 11:15.We looked at each other confused and left.We tried to support a local business to be turned away.We left laughing as their logic makes no sense! We won’t be returning...we found better just down the high street.

The Olde House Tearooms are taking their Covid-19 precautions very seriously I'm very happy to say. The tables indoors and outdoors are socially distanced and our contact details were taken on entry. We were there on a fairly busy September Saturday and it was just warm enough to sit outside. I had a lemon meringue cake (other very alluring cakes were available) and it had exactly the right sharp/sweet balance to be refreshing. My wife's Snickers brownie on the other hand was sheer indulgence. The accompanying tea and coffee really hit the spot.Portions are very generous. I'm a piggy so the cake disappeared very quickly but half the brownie came home with us for a Sunday treat. The staff were friendly and efficient, the prices are very reasonable - please don't tell anyone about this place, I want there to be tables available for when we come back.

Wow what can I say, my first visit here and definitely will not be the last. Amazing food and relaxed atmosphere. I had the ploughmans and my friend had the Welsh rarebit and we had cakes to take home with us for a belated pudding. Cannot recommend this place enough! Good value for money, tasty food, proper cup and saucers and lovely garden area. Who could wish for more!

I'm super impressed with this historic teahouse! Located in the lovely village of Kinver on the high street. I visited late morning with my son aged 3. We had tea and scones. The scones were freshly made and serving size is very generous. Service was very polite and the teahouse became very busy by the tine we were finished. I highly recommend this place for a relaxed afternoon tea or for a bite to eat. I will be visiting again very soon.

Went for afternoon tea, food was nice, would have been nice to add little bowl of crisps maybe, or some other little nibbles, no explanation of what was on sandwiches, not sure that I would go out of my way to return
