We’ve been recommended for some time by quite a few people to try the Old Castle but never quite made it until today. On a grey, rainy cold day we went in without a booking, but were greeted in a friendly manner immediately, and shown to a lovely table at the back. The pub is like a Tardis, looks small from the outside but goes on and on inside. Fabulous service, friendly, efficient, and helpful making choices and recommendations. And then came the food… probably the best steak pie I’ve ever had. Choc full of lean chunks of steak, a rich gravy, plentiful chips and some very good mixed vegetables. My husband had lambs liver, beautifully cooked,served with a soft buttery mash, with bacon and onions- super generous portions too It was beyond delicious. There was no room for dessert! I’m surprised anyone has room for dessert! Our only gripe was that we hadn’t been there sooner- we can’t wait to try the Sunday lunch, to go in the evening, and definitely to go in summer Can’t recommend highly enough

We used to live in Bridgnorth and have had many excellent meals there. So when we were going to the theatre we didn’t hesitate to book a table. We noticed that the restaurant was half full but there very few people serving. After drinks and popadoms the starters seem to take forever and getting a drink was very difficult even after asking three times. The main course was again taking forever and we realised we were going to be late. There was clearly a problem yet the restaurant was taking in more and more customers. We decided to leave and pay for what we’d had. The bill came and it contained the 4th drink which we’d never had - there was no discount and very little apology and we went to the theatre starving. Yet there were people sat in the foyer waiting for a table. I don’t think we’ll be going there again

The Harry Potter experience for a coffee and cake. What's not to like!

I hadn't been to the Shakespeare for years, so I was very pleasantly surprised when we stepped inside last night—a very warm and welcoming atmosphere with good, home-cooked food and friendly front-of-house service. I had a veggie dish and was asked if I was vegan, so that the correct ingredients could be used. My husband had short ribs, which were delicious. We shared a well-made mixed berry crumble and custard. I would definitely recommend this pub as an eatery and we will return soon.

The tea room has a good range of choices on its menu. You can purchase jacket potatoes, sandwiches, salads, snacks, soup, main meals and specials, plus cakes and scones. I had a jacket potato with beef chilly, salad, and coleslaw. It was delicious, and the portion size was huge. My husband had Chicken and Leek Pie with new potatoes and seasonal vegetables plus gravy, which he enjoyed very much.. Again, this was a generous portion, and this was one of the specials. We would highly recommend a visit if in the area.

Me and my daughter had a Christmas movie night last night and decided to order a munch takeaway for delivery. From the lady who took the order to the food and service from the delivery driver everything was absolutely perfect. Food arrived promptly, fresh, piping hot and absolutely delicious. Thankyou munch will 100% be using your delivery service again in the future!

Brilliant set up here, order food outside undercover at the van, then choose your seat. Pub was great too with friendly staff and regulars! Toilets were the cleanest pub toilets I've ever visited. Sat outside in a bit of sunshine, as a good sized, protected outside area. Even had non alcoholic lager on tap! ☺️

Really enjoyed our tea and scones here. The other food coming out looked and smelt good. Will be coming back to this cosy little gem! It gets full because it’s so good!

Food is standard not complaining too much there Don't go in on a cold day as you will freeze.....there aircon blasts like that arctic breeze Maybe go in summer

Once again great food and service me and my best friend Angie thank you so much l have forgotten the lady that gave us our table and took our order sorry She look after the two of us she even save the table by the fire near so we coukd continue talking and got us a coffee and a wine for my friend we was also the last people out thats how comfortable it was in there and very friendly again love it there many thank to the lovley friendly lady staff sorry l forgot your name . 👍😀

My wife and I went to Legends following a recent online review (Shropshire Star) which was enthusiastic. Our food was ok, but when we came to pay the bill (£47) we were told that if we wanted to pay by card the cost would be £50, £1.50 extra charge per person for the water we had with the meal. The owner explained that we had rented her glasses! She tried to justify the 6% increase by saying that her bank charges for card transactions. I didn’t have cash and didn’t want a walk up the street to get it, so reluctantly paid £50. Needless to say this left a bad taste and we wont be going back.
