The tea room has a good range of choices on its menu. You can purchase jacket potatoes, sandwiches, salads, snacks, soup, main meals and specials, plus cakes and scones. I had a jacket potato with beef chilly, salad, and coleslaw. It was delicious, and the portion size was huge. My husband had Chicken and Leek Pie with new potatoes and seasonal vegetables plus gravy, which he enjoyed very much.. Again, this was a generous portion, and this was one of the specials. We would highly recommend a visit if in the area.

Spotted this little tea room while purchasing tickets for the Cliff Railway. Decided to pop in to use the facilities and have a quick coffee. We sat outside in the sunshine with our drinks and just chilled for half an hour. As we were leaving, we brought our empties back up to the tearoom and both girls at the counter thanked us for being so helpful, we were surprised to be thanked for doing this as it is and has always been normal for us to tidy up after ourselves

Overall experience was quite poor. Were completely ignorant when entering. I can see why the because of the older age of target audience that quality is overlooked but it doesn’t make it acceptable the breakfast was watery the tomatoes were baked but cold inside while the baked beans were boiling hot the toast was about the only nice thing on the plate despite coming with hard un-spreadable butter wouldn’t recommend unless you’re retired and no longer care for quality and just want a cafe to sit and chat in.

Popped in for the first time today, our usual haunt was closed and may well not be our first port of call any more. The staff were very friendly, food was great and the seating was comfortable and spacious. My wife had a cheese and onion sandwich and asked for the thinner sliced bread, an option not usually available but welcomed by my wife, I wasn't happy though, when she has to have thick bread I usually end up getting a quarter of the sandwich, didn't happen this time lol. I had the chilli and cheese jacket potato and the chilli was really good, the only thing I would like to see improved is a crispy skin on the potato, this wasn't enough to knock a star off though. See you soon.

On our first visit to this delightful traditional British cafe we were warmly welcomed by a member of staff as we entered and were given a menu. There was a wide selection of food and beverages available. We chose tea cakes and a pot of tea for two. Which was served promptly with ample quality of butter. We enjoyed two cups of tea each from the pot. The cafe is decorated simply and gives a feeling of yesteryear but in a warm and friendly way. It pleasantly reminded me of establishments in my childhood many decades previous. I asked the waiter if they had WiFi after being served and was politely told no. I looked around the cafe, which by now was almost full with people enjoying the atmosphere on a winter's day and realised no one was looking at their phones ! It's been many years since I've sat in a public place and not seen everyone glued to their phones. No one person in this busy establishment was using a cell phone ! We put our phones away and like everyone else started to talk to each other and enjoy the jovial warmth of this traditional community enjoying their snacks and drinks and the company of each other. I should say the food was excellent both in quality and quantity served on warm plates and with a smile. This was our first visit to the Castle Tea Rooms. But it won't be our last, but next time we'll leave our phones in our pockets lol.

Called in on a busy Saturday afternoon when taking a break in Bridgnorth on a drive up from Wiltshire. Seated straight away and served with a smile by a very pleasant member of staff. A good range of menu options was available, from main meals through to toasted snacks, also a range of sandwiches and home made cakes. I had cheese and bacon on toast, which was very tasty with nice thick cut crusty bread. Good range of hot and cold drinks were available, my cappuccino tasted lovely. Well done to you all, I shall certainly return when in Bridgnorth again.

We visited the tea room at lunchtime and they offered sandwiches, jacket potatoes, soups, and a few other options, including scones, cakes, and other desserts. We both chose Brie and bacon sandwiches on homemade brown bread. The sandwich bread is was cut thick very thick and was surprisingly soft. You can also request that the bread be cut thinner. The sandwiches came with a sizable salad garnish. The cafe is fairly small and quite popular. It is a regular stop for us for lunch or tea on at least one of our visits to Bridgnorth during our stay in Wolverhampton. Cafe was spotless, staff was pleasant, and food was homemade and tasty.

I wanted to say Thankyou to the team at the tea rooms for making me and my family feel safe yesterday. We enjoyed our lunch and having seen the comments below I feel I must say that whilst I was aware of the customers who came in without a mask, there was absolutely no bellowing from any team member. Whilst I wouldn’t want anybody to feel offended by being asked to wear a mask, we as a family felt reassured that customers were politely being asked. Establishments are rightfully following the rules to the best of their abilities and whilst there is still some learning to be had, we are all in this together and should look for the good in how we are being asked to ensure everybody is safe. From our observations the team member at this tea room was polite and explained why she had asked about wearing masks. The customer sssshhhhd the team member which clearly unnerved the team member and uncalled for in these very difficult times.

As we entered, a young waitress asked out loud for me to put a mask on. I have a disability that gives me an exemption so this resulted in the entire cafe knowing I have a disability that isn’t visible. This is why it is unlawful under the discrimination act to challenge people about not wearing face coverings as this information is and should remain confidential to the person concerned. Everyone knows they’re expected to wear masks therefore if one isn’t being worn I think it’s fair to assume there’s a good reason. Furthermore, my wife tried to discreetly discuss this with the waitress and she continued discussing it at the top of her voice.Anyway, the food. My wife’s jacket potato was very dry and had very cheap tasting cheese on it (£6.25 for a potato) and my crab and prawn sandwich was lashed with mayonnaise and there was no mention of this on the menu. With that many cafes and pubs in Bridgnorth this one needs to pull it’s socks up!

Visited here today with our 7 and 2 year old for lunch. The service was friendly and my husband's and my meal were delicious. Unfortunately I felt the children's meals were grossly overpriced. We paid £10 for one Chicago Town pizza and a jacket potato with beans. Fruits shoots were included in the price but it still felt very steep especially the pizza as that's literally all it was. A bit of salad wouldn't hurt and would have looked far better. I probably won't return.

As these things often work out it was the usual "mixed" weather on an August Bank Holiday Monday and we were after a coffee shop for a mid-afternoon pit stop in Bridgenorth. Castle Tea Rooms ticked all the boxes. Pleasant service and good coffee. A special mention must go to my "treat" of choice the Raspberry and White Chocolate Scones served with raspberry jam (my fave) and Rhoddas clotted cream. Moorish and a must when they are on the menu. Would really recommend scone lovers to give them a try. We didn't partake of the Full English although I have to say the "small" breakfast's being served looked gigantic and lets face it all the cleaned plates can't be wrong now can they? We will definitely return when we are next in Bridgenorth.

I visited Castle Tea Rooms on Saturday 14th July with my husband and a group of friends but sadly I was taken ill with a migraine. I must thank the staff for their kindness and care, they looked after me with an ice pack and gave every assistance. My friends in the group all reported that they had really enjoyed their food (sadly I could eat nothing!) and so I would thoroughly recommend Castle Tea Rooms not only for the lovely dinners, puddings and cakes but also for their kindness to me when I was in such discomfort. Many thanks to all the staff.

Lovely choice of meals and snacks. I took my mother in law for lunch. She had prawn and crab sandwiches and I had a jacket potato. In both cases the fillings were enormous as well as being accompanied by a green salad. We were so full we couldn’t even consider cake - so we went back the following day! I am coeliac and it was lovely to have a choice of gluten free home made cakes and the home made gluten free scones were delicious- would definitely go back.

Went for a day trip to Bridgnorth, and passed this food place, Looked nice so we decided if there was nowhere else then we would go there. We did go and the staff were excellent. Looked at the menu and to be honest i thought a bit dear. (£6.90 for baked potato with tuna and cheese) I ordered that, and while we waited (which was quick really) i noticed other peoples food when they were bought it, There was not much room left on the plate. Mine was a medium potato (plenty) and a mound of tuna and cheese and salad. Truly worth a visit.

Whilst the Castle Tea Rooms are good to visit at any time of day, it’s for the breakfasts that we always visit. Offering a very wide variety of cooked breakfasts and breakfast sandwiches, plus toast, muffins etc., we’ll often wander round when we aren’t feeling like making our own breakfast or will take friends there when visiting.

We stopped for a quick bite - coffee and a cake - pity this place is so far from home or we might take up residence - superb coffee & walnut - and the staff are so friendly without being intrusive.

First visit to Bridgnorth, needed a light lunch, spied this old building with a welcoming looking cafe, and were not disappointed. Friendly staff, warm comfortable room on a very chilly day. It's a straightforward menu offering a good range of popular dishes from egg on toast to jacket potatoes to pies with veg ... and, of course, cakes! The food is tasty, freshly prepared, caters for different diet restrictions and is excellent value for money. We asked if they were on TripAdvisor as we wanted to let others know what a good find this was - just sorry it's taken a month to remember to do this post!

We called in for lunch. We suspected the portions were going to be huge they said they could cut the bread thinner for the sandwiches. They were huge and with a fresh side salad too.

We tried this place on recommendation and wasn't disappointed. I had a bacon sandwhich and my husband had the full english breakfast. It arrived after very little time even though it was busy. The food was hot and of generous portions and handed to us by pleasant smiling staff. Will definitely be going back.

For the first time, as a family of 4 + well behaved dachshund, we visited the Castle Tea Room for lunch today. The place was SO busy that at first we didn't think we'd even get a table but a very charming couple saved and yielded up there table for 4 ... and we were in. The sandwiches, coffee and teas were absolutely first class. We enjoyed cheese & coleslaw, crab and prawn, prawn ... all on beautifully fresh thick cut granary bread and with a nice fresh side salad. One of our party plumped for a cheese and pepperoni panini ... also delicious. Considering how very busy the place was, service was quick and efficient. My only tiny criticism would be that there was no lemon to go with the prawn sandwiches ... but other than that it was all perfect.

We booked for dinner as we knew the White Lion had reopened for food with a new chef. We were not disappointed the food was delicious, we had the rib eye steak, the sea bass special and the penne vodka. All were beautifully cooked and served. The service was great and the staff were friendly. We will definitely be eating here again.

The service was friendly and the food absolutely first-rate. Can recommend the Ploughman’s which is loaded with cheese, really top notch ham, and lovely crusty bread. Would have loved to stay for cake but we were all too full.

Have been coming here for over a year and their Panang curry is the best! Portion sizes are generous for price - we always have enough leftover for a good size meal the day following. Staff is friendly too

we always try to come here when we can get in and don’t fancy cooking one ourselves. the meat selection is always good and very generous, their roast potatoes are the best - lovely and crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. it is a carvery so can help yourself. they unfortunately don’t have any mash but we just add extra roasties! their gravy is lovely and homemade with the meat juices in. the staff are lovely and attentive. our favourite place to go for sunday lunch!
