Excellent hospitality with warm and friendly service that makes it feel like a high-class restaurant. The Tom Yum tastes like authentic Thai food, with three prawns and mushrooms in each bowl we ordered — flavorful and satisfying. The Pad Thai noodles are delicious with a slightly chewy texture — just right for a good Pad Thai. The Chicken Satay is well-cooked, tender, and not too dry — really enjoyable. The toilet is clean and well-maintained, which is always appreciated. This was my second visit, and I’ll definitely be coming back again. Parking is convenient — there’s a car park behind the restaurant (£1 per hour, up to 4 hours), and the one opposite is free on Sundays.

Called here after reading good reviews as I was looking for somewhere to take my wife and mother in law for a mother's day afternoon tea. It was quite short notice but Carol, the owner, said that she would accommodate us after the two main sittings had finished. We were the only customers in at that time and we were made very welcome. The food was very nice and the cakes were home made, all delicious. Carol and the other staff were friendly and attentive throughout. We would definitely go back even for a cuppa and a cake when in Cannock.

We had a fantastic family birthday dinner at this authentic Turkish restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious—so flavorful and perfectly cooked. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a great spot for a special celebration. We brought our own cake, and the staff were very accommodating. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a true taste of Turkey!

The Royal Oak is always extremely lively...the heart of an otherwise quiet old town.

Came with friends for afternoon tea and had a great time. Lovely ambiance in the room with the table cloths, tea pots and the fact that nothing matches makes it quaint. You can only choose 1 sandwich type each, so as there were 5 of us we all chose different fillings and then we had a choice. Scones were lovely with jam and cream and we had 2 each followed by a piece of cake- again just one cake each but it was a massive slice and we all needed to take ours home as we couldn't manage to eat it! Beware that if you ask for a top up of the tea/ coffee you are charged extra. We had a discount flyer but after using it , it appeared that we were all charged individually for our afternoon tea and the discount price for 2 people wasn't applied making the voucher pointless but we'd had a nice time so didnt question it. Would I return- yes I would.
