Exceptional food, great service and highly recommend it. Unique dishes of lamb shank, duck, with lots of flavour. They also have a very well stocked and licensed bar.

Been eating here 20+ years but now under new management. Complete change of menu with old favourites missing such as sizzling towards and even no bombay potatoes, baltis. Pickle tray no green chutney and was small amount of raita, onion and chutney. Ordered 4 pappadums which come all portioned into quarters. When talking with staff was told new manager has got rid of old "cannock curries" for fusion style, modern take. The food was very nice and staff excellent (nice to see familar waiter still there). However I'm a cannock curry girl and sadly won't be back as it just wasn't a curry for me. Nothing better than wiping your nan round a balti bowl. A posh plate just misses the spot. Seems we're not the only people who feel this as at 7.30pm we were only people in. We wish you well.

I have been coming to Saleem Bagh for 34 years, my last visit was Thursday March 6th 2025 and could well be my last I am sad to say, Mr Miah’s grandson has taken it over and is moving too fast too soon, everyone who attended that evening was very disappointed with everything, I could go on but there was so much to criticise, that would not be possible. I think as Mr Miah still owns the property perhaps he should take a long hard look at what is going on because the customers I feel will soon find elsewhere to go unless something is done rapidly.

went to the saleem last night with the wife.this has to be the best indian food we have ever had.dishes are individual and not just one sauce with different filling.comfortable seating and tables with plenty of room all finished off with excellent service and fair prices what more could you ask for and try the tarka dhal its amazing

Went to Saleem Bagh last night with a few friends. The poppadoms were light and crisp the naan breads were fresh and light also and the four different currys we had were well presented. Mine tasted great. Would definitely recommend and will be returning soon also. Just need more people enjoying it too . Well done Saleem Bagh 👍👍👍👍

Collected a Korma and Chicken Balta with the trimmings this evening. Bloody beautiful best Indian meal I have had in a long while.

Attended on a Monday evening as a family of four, service provided was very attentive, wide choice available on the menu, good choice of drinks, food arrived promptly and was cooked to perfection. Would definitely go again

I am originally from Birmingham by Ladypool Road, Stoney Lane, Moseley Road where the streets are lined with great curry houses and it has taken me years to find a decent place like this, which is clean, has helpful friendly staff and who know how to cook great curries... I took my daughter and her partner here for a curry we had poppadoms, starters, we all have very different tastes as to what we like and yet everyone of us was very happy with our main course. If you love a hot curry I would recommend the Naga chicken ask for a slice of lemon to squeeze over it as it helps,or if you prefer a milder curry try the chicken pathia ,all tasted amazing just like a good curry should. I enjoyed it so much that I went back the following week with a friend and we too both enjoyed great service and great food, very happy customers

I used to be a regular at the Saleem Bagh and always enjoyed the food but, after moving away, it had been a few years since my last visit. When the opportunity arose to arrange a night out in Cannock for a group of friends the Saleem Bagh immediately came to mind. I booked by telephone a few days in advance but when we arrived on a Thursday night they had no record of the booking, fortunately they were fairly empty and could accommodate a table for 9 people but it would have been very annoying otherwise. Drinks orders were taken straight away, mainly for Cobra, and they were promptly delivered. After a short gap to give us a chance to look at the menu we ordered our meals - poppadoms with accompaniments, starters and main courses. The starters were all tasty, good quality and generous helpings. The main courses were to the same standard as I remembered - my chicken tikka jalfrezi with a plain naan bread was delicious, just the right amount of spice and well cooked chicken. Prices don't seem to have gone up as much as I expected and the food was really good value. I'll not leave it as long before I return again.

Have been many times food always of high quality but unfortunately both of us did not enjoy our meal and felt the standard had slipped. The taste and tenderness of the lamb and chicken in our meals was of below standard and meal bland. Staff are as usual very friendly.

A great find for pre theatre dining! What amazing food - I have complex intolerances meaning I cannot have lactose, garlic nor onion (amongst others) which is hard with indian cuisine (also my favourite) A phone call to the restaurant beforehand offered assurance I could be catered for and what a superb job they did! I was advised exactly which dishes could be adapted and was not limited to the usual one or two which was a refreshing change from pub grub where all too often the only dish on offer is gammon, egg & chips as no adaptations can be made to others! Attentive, friendly staff & great value for money. Very convenient for our pre theatre meal too. Will definitely be back! I had chicken shashlick, salad, sag aloo all freshly prepared without onion or garlic

We visited Friday evening before the theatre. The food was freshly cooked and tasted lovely. One of us had a food intolerance and as the food is freshly prepared they could accommodate. Service friendly and the staff were knowledgeable about their food. Loved it, will come again 😍

We went on 241 night, when we had bill 4 of us was charged full price! Then the manager went on to say because we had brought our own drinks the offer did not apply! Waiter knew we had brought drinks and having 241. Even on the window outside this is not mentioned! Manager knocked £10 off

For a Tuesday evening, the service was excellent, very attentive, friendly waiter. Poppadoms and pickle tray good. My Tawa was full of chicken and piping hot. Price was good for amount of food. Chicken channa balti equally as good with good sized naan. Poppadoms. 2 meals. 2 rice and 1 naan plus 2 cokes £40. No complaints tasted good and good portions.

Went here on a recommendation having not been for many years. Will be leaving it many more years before visiting again. Poppadoms all cold and soft. When sent back the same ones returned a few minutes later warmed and still soft. Everyone's meals lukewarm with one guests curry not arriving until majority of our party had finished their meals. And, when it did the prawns had not been cooked. Meal was sent away. Staff could not care less. Everyone's meals were lukewarm

The restaurant was cold and it was -6 degrees outside, ordered our food, order didn’t come together, even though the waiter stood and wrote it all down we still had to tell him what was missing, the food portions are tiny for the price they charge, the rice is the size of an egg cup. I wouldn’t come back again, the food didn’t even fill half the plate when we dished it up, very disappointing, staff are friendly and helpful but food is expensive and certainly not value for money.

Had a take away last weekend and it was the worst food we have had for ages chicken tikka main meal off the bone without onions so disappointing We have had take aways for years not sure what’s going on

Been a regular eat in and delivered customer for 30+ years and today they took my money and did not deliver. I called in after 1hr 20 mins and was told the food was out for delivery but 25 mins later nothing so I called back and it had not even left so they now need another 20 mins making it over 2 hrs if it comes! If you are too busy then just tell us and we can go somewhere else but greed has got the better of them and they have now lost a loyal customer of 30 years who eats there at least a couple of times every month A real shame that a once great restaurant has come to this but we will never eat from here again Be warned!

Placed my order at 5.45pm told an hour for delivery ... arrived 1hr .50 mins just before I was going to cancel !! Food was cold .... price list says 10% off on delivery my bill was £2 over current price list !! ... very poor service !! Won't be using your delivery service again ... shocking !!!

Been visiting this restaurant for thirty years. The standards never drop. First class food and friendly helpful service. The owner Mr Miah and his family should be very proud.

We have been coming to this restaurant for 18plus years but last night was disappointed. The 2 for 1 offer seems to mean a reduction in quality. Poppadoms seemed stale and chewy not crisp. My main a chicken dhansak had 4 pieces of small chicken and 5 pieces of pineapple. Worst thing was the amount of flies in the restaurant, they kept landing on us and the food. Service and staff is always excellent but sadly the rest let us down.

Food was okay, flies everywhere which was disgusting, my girlfriend found a hair in her food and when we mentioned it, the server just said it wasn’t him.. not helpful at all. Soft drink was flat, asked for a replacement which was also flat, only to discover they just pour the drinks out of a 2L bottle which inevitably goes flat over time. Will never go back.

Only two other covers in the restaurant so why were we sat right next to another table of people who were loud. The food arrived quickly it was okay- nothing special. Our soft drinks were flat which you could tell was poured from a large bottle- why do restaurants still do this?

They provided incredible customer service and delicious food for our group of 40 people. Also dealt with some of our groups food allergies brilliantly. Would 100% recommend this restaurant for large or small gatherings!

Had i wanted it 45 mins early i would have ordered it for then. No complimentary poppadums- i think for a £40 order you could have thrown in a few like every other indian takeaway service. Just seemed mean. Plastic containers. So the food delivered earlier than ordered went cold. We couldn’t keep it warm. Also - why are you adding to the use of plastics? We used to love to eat in the restaurant but the takeaway has disappointed us i’m afraid.

Wouldn't even give it a star if I had the choice. Absolutely disgusting. Pure oil. Inedible! If there were a sauce in the oil it was curdled! Called to complain for them to say they are closed and they can't do anything about it. Totally unprofessional. Ordered way before closing time so shouldn't be a factor. My advice...steer clear

Best curry I've had in a long time

A personal preference but didn’t like the fact that every curry was doused in oil and had to try and tip it out of the container before eating, also all 3 of us thought that the food was pretty tasteless, added some salt and it was a bit better but on the whole disappointing.

Excellent meal. Very tasty. Great Tikka Mossella, mushroom rice, chicken saag and chapati. Highly recommend. Was on time and piping hot.
