The best restaurants in Burton Bradstock West Dorset South West

My husband and I stayed for two nights at the New Inn as friends are moving into the area. The pub was very pleasant with an open fire and separate eating area that was warm and inviting, as was the landlady Andrea who really couldn't do enough for us and said, on more than one occasion, that nothing is too much trouble. The accommodation was superb. A large comfortable bed. A warm, quiet room and drinking water and biscuits were available along with the usual tea and coffee in our room. The breakfasts were delicious. Plate wasn't overloaded but every ingredient was well sourced and cooked to perfection. Cereals, juices, tea and proper coffee available too, along with a loaf of toast. Ha! Ha! We stayed for an evening meal on the Friday night with our friends. The food was VERY good and much of it was home cooked where possible. Home made pie and the home made chips were cooked to perfection. So Andrea thank you so much for your warm welcome and hospitality and we look forward to seeing you again whenever we visit. Best regards A&P

On entering the pub we were shown to a table in a cold room. We ordered three roasts as it was Sunday lunch . I asked if the beef was rare ,the waitress replied of course. On receiving our meals she commented that the beef wasn’t as rare as usual. The beef was overcooked and dry and the accompanying vegetables of broccoli and cauliflower were watery. A tiny pot of horseradish sauce arrived so we asked for another. For dessert I ordered Dorset apple cake and cream, and three coffees to follow. The coffees arrived before the dessert and the apple cake was very disappointing tasting more like old fashioned bread pudding. The experience was mediocre at best and expensive

We called in for a drink and Sunday Lunch with our puppy, we had a fantastic experience, staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was amazing !! Thank you

Had a walking group Christmas lunch which was very nice and everyone enjoyed. Only downside was there could of been more vegetables.

Came here for a Sunday lunch whilst on holiday. Absolutely delicious roast- the potatoes were to die for! Large portion and served quickly. Beautiful cozy pub with friendly, welcoming staff. Thankyou

We had an excellent meal here cooked by Chef Will and the team. The staff on that night (Helen, Laura, Jay) looked after our table of 4 perfectly and we felt so welcome in a comfy, casual but elegant environment. Jess has a few food allergies but they were catered for and we felt extremely comfortable and in safe hands. Thanks team!

What a find. The food was absolutely stunning and the service was great. I had the venison which was delicious. The vegetarian options were really interesting. We had a fantastic time and will definitely return.

14 of us went as a group from the nearby Shipton Gorge. We’d preordered and sat at a large table. Service was good and the food was tasty enough but not outstanding. I’d ordered Lemon Sole which wasn’t properly trimmed so a bit disappointing. Most of our gang drank and ate heartily and the evening was a success as a social event.

Another fantastic lunch at The Eggcup! Abbi accommodated 38 of us for an amazing Sunday lunch. We pre-ordered our meals, as we were such a large party celebrating my father’s birthday weekend, and the staff, as always, went above and beyond for us. It is set in such a lovely area and run by a beautiful family. The flavour of the meals is 100% and you always feel full to the brim with their generous portion sizes. If you haven’t tried their roast dinners, you really are missing out. I ordered a birthday cake for my dad’s party and it delivered on every aspect. The wow factor in presentation (people are still commenting on it) The taste was so fresh and light. Not too sweet and held its shape perfectly in your hand. I gave them a free rein in what sort of cake, and knowing what flavours my dad likes. They came up with a wonderful Eton mess cake, topped with fresh berries and meringue. It was out of this world! The staff at The Eggcup really helped my dad have a fantastic 70th birthday and we are very glad to have this gem on our doorstep. Thank you to Abbi, Jess and the whole team.

This is a nice place with a real beach vibe and excellent food. I am taking a star off because if you are calling yourself a café, you should offer something at lunchtime which is not £15+. However, I should also add that much of their food is available as a takeaway at considerably reduced prices, so you are paying to sit down.

Well, we didn’t expect this! Just such a generous welcome from Andrea and attractively furnished rooms were just what we needed for a night’s rest on our epic Coastal Path walk. Thoughtful touches such as cool soft drinks in the room and a box of delicious biscuits, and quality shampoo and shower gels. Great choice of delicious food in the pub restaurant and much needed lager. The vegan chick pea and vegetable curry had the wow factor and was a well thought out excellently balanced meal. Breakfast too was excellent. Don’t know how you get the energy to work so hard Andrea, but you do it wonderfully and are the best host ever.

Stopped for lunch. My parents used to live about 15 miles away (they have now passed) but they took us there many years ago, The food is always great the staff very friendly, It was lovely to return and find the same quality of food and staff, Thank you for a great meal.
