Absolutely excellent atmosphere, service and value. A must for teas, dinners and a night away if you want to spoil yourselves

Very friendly and entertaining staff

We came down for a few days to visit Bridport with my family, and this restaurant was one of the ones we were excited to try, especially since we were looking forward to sitting outside in the sun and enjoying some tea and coffee. Unfortunately, from the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a very cold reception. We decided to give the benefit of the doubt, but the service only got worse. The staff member we interacted with, a slim-built, male with a beard, was unapproachable and seemed disinterested in offering any customer service. He was blunt when answering our questions and appeared to care very little about how his behavior made us feel. When we decided to leave, he showed no concern or even acknowledgment of our decision. I pointed out how unwelcome his attitude made us feel, but he didn’t apologise or show any empathy. It honestly felt like he couldn’t have cared less. While I didn’t want to jump to conclusions, it was hard not to feel that his behavior towards us was influenced by our ethnicity, as we are Indian Asian. I never thought I’d have to mention this, but it certainly felt that way. We ended up going to another place nearby where the customer service was outstanding. This is all it takes to make someone feel welcome. It’s such a shame that we had a completely opposite experience here. He really needs to learn how to show basic customer service, which he clearly lacks. Good customer service can make a world of difference, and unfortunately, this experience has made us hesitant to return. I definitely think the manager should look into this, as this type of attitude can drive customers away.

A friend said she would take us for a fish and chips lunch. Wow, what a surprise. The best restaurant I have been to in 25 years. The view was the sea.. The menu, so different. The waitress was knowledgeable The food was brilliant. I could taste each individual item on my seafood dish. Desserts, we all tried each others dessert. All were absolutely scrumptious.

Another one-off location, up on the cliffs above the beach at Burton Bradstock. A peaceful, relaxed hideaway with great food and amazing views of the Dorset coast. It feels like the perfect spot for a special occasion.

Had a lovely evening eating lovely bar snacks and sampling the happy hour cocktails. It was my first visit. I've only lived locally for 3 years. Well worth it

Christmas Day lunch, ridiculously over priced, small portions, badly cooked food. One cheese straw per person & glass of Champagne to begin. Starters reasonable but very small. Main course Halibut over cooked & dry served with a side of decent roast potatoes & only one other veg being incinerated fried Brussels sprouts! Truly horrible. Nice building & interior, nice location.

I can't comment on the accommodation as I only went here to dine - but, everything about the experience was really good! From the outside the building is neat, but not dramatic, but from inside the views are outstanding and the place is spotless. There's a very creative menu with excellent flavours, a good bar and lounge, and some of the nicest staff you'll ever encounter.

Perfect lunch and lovely people . had oysters and crab for lunch … took my dog and then walk on the beach … honestly it was a perfect way to spend the afternoon after a morning in Bridport

This place is just brilliant; perhaps my favourite lunch destination at present. It is so good that I have booked to stay later in tge year. The vista and style of tge hotel make it, but the food is very food too.

Second stay here this year. Wonderful fish and chips for lunch + a blowy walk past Hive Bay.

Had lunch with friends and very disappointed. When we arrived was horrified to see a waiter that had been really rude to us at another location, this time he simply ignored all of us while we were trying to get a drink. Food was mediocre but pricey. It's beautifully decorated with a wonderful location but quite honestly not worth the price paid for the meal and you can't eat a view!

Beautiful well cooked food but the service was slow... we had to wait a long time for our main course with two hungry children.

A fabulous place for lunch whether just a bar snack or the full works. Feels like you have stepped back into the 1920s with excellent locally sourced food, impeccable service and stunning views.

Last Monday evening, our party of four had a delightful dinner at this attractively decorated and sited restaurant overlooking the sea. A thoughtful menu, delicious starters and entrees comprised of locally sourced ingredients, and attentive service make this a must go to place for those with a taste for an elevated dining experience. The details matter, including thoughtfully placed Greek inspired white and blue trimmed paper to cover the pristine white linen tablecloths, keeping things fresh and practical. No wonder the dining place was full to capacity on a Monday evening!

Confused! We walked in to an almost empty restaurant, no music, very quiet. The staff were good, food lacked presentation and was under par for the price. Paper Table cloths, bendy cutlery and thick wine glasses made the restaurant feel cheap. Electricity kept going on and off and staff didn’t apologies for the inconvenience. All in all, make it cheaper and get more customers, or improve the food and make some small changes I would not return

Lovely mocktail and cheese soufflé, although I wasn't too into my main dish. The sea view is excellent and the parking is always easy. The front of house lady is friendly and polite.

We didn't stay here but had a very good dinner.

Stopped by for lunch before heading down to the beach. Enjoyed fabulous fish pies and the children's meals were high quality and excellent value. Friendly service too. Will definitely return.

Food was impeccable - but service a little slow, which isn’t a big deal considering how busy it was by the time we’d finished our drinks at the bar. Great wine selection as wel, pairing nicely with the delicious oysters!

We visited restaurant for lunch and were not disappointed. The quality of the Squid starter, Hake and Chips and Mussells was excellent. The staff were attentive, professional and efficient we couldn't have asked for better. Well worth a visit.

Our visit was for Evening dinner we found it bland,over priced for portions and lacking choice of fish dishes.gift vouchers given as xmas present, in my view wasted money

Just reopening after a break. Short of some bar stock. Bar snacks were excellent. Set lunch menu looked good.
