We came with friends as we had all been gifted afternoon tea, and chose to visit this tearoom. We booked just over a week in advance. What a great choice! A great selection of beautifully fresh finger sandwiches, scones, cream and jam. and a selection of small cakes, which were so light. Absolutely scrumptious. We weren't rushed, so we could sit and enjoy our food. The folk working in the tearoom were very welcoming and we had a delightful afternoon. Thank you!

Visited here today for our 29th wedding anniversary, for an afternoon tea. Wow! What can we say?! It was fabulous. Six different sandwich fillings for us both, with mini cakes and a scone each with fresh jam and cream. Perfect setting too. Place was cute with a lovely garden and seating added. Despite staff being run off their feet, couldn't fault them in any way! We will be back! Ps: definitely book if you want an afternoon tea

My experience here was abysmal. The table was unclean the cutlery covered in old dried crusted food and the staff clearly untrained and very rude. My coffee was practically cold and when I politely informed them I was met with a rude response and an equally cold second cup of coffee. No doubt the owner will reply with a childish defensive comment without considering that it’s her who’s the problem. If you can’t take constructive criticism don’t put your business on trip advisor.

Popped in here for a late breakfast after a hike up to see the Giant. Very friendly staff and an excellent menu selection, including a range of vegan options (not that we sampled them, but good to see them as standard). Given its location and the relative size of the village, prices are at the upper end of a scale but that’s to be expected. But it was also pleasing to see, and receive, such good customer service. as it was early May we had to eat outside due to Covid restrictions, but the sun was lovely in the garden, and the arrangements of tables very nice. Unfortunately there isn't a sign to explain we needed to go inside to order first and then go to assigned table, rather than have table service, but that's okay. I have been wanting a scone with a nice cup of tea after months of lockdown, but I wish I had chosen a cake instead. The scone was small and tasted of too much raising agent. An extra £1 for jam seems a little pricey, so I just went for butter. The Dorset apple cake looked great and my husband's coffee and walnut cake was delicious. Nothing worse than having cake envy when out for a special treat. He also had a tub of ice cream - I really hate the packaging for this, much prefer a cone but understand a small establishment can't necessarily warrant scoop ice cream.

My friends and I visited this tea room recently after a lengthly walk from Buckland Newton. We ordered inside and asked if it was ok to sit outside which we did. The waitress brought out our food and there was a wasp on the food on one of the plates. A couple of us lent over and tried to get the wasp off as she was handing the plate over. With that, she made a grumpy comment about could one of us just take the plate and gave us a miserable look too. We were only trying to dislodge the wasp and it can only have delayed her by a few seconds so not sure why she was so surly. Kind of spoilt it for us although the food was plentiful and tasty. We spent four nights in a cosy bedroom on the top floor, sleeping very well. A hearty breakfast made sure we were well prepared for the day. - And Nicola spoilt us by leaving scones in our room. Cerne Abbas is a picturesque village with lots of things to see and to do close by. You can go for a walk around the Giant, a huge chalk figure in the hills, or visit Minterne Gardens. Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and Ringstead Bay are attractive destinations to take a walk on the coast path and enjoy magnificent views. You can explore Thomas Hardy´s birthplace and the cottage of Lawrence of Arabia. Bournemouth, Poole and Weymouth with famous Chesil beach are within reasonable distance. - To name but a few of the attractions of this area. - We will certainly come back.

We went for a long walk up the hill to see the giant with the big weapon and popped in here for a spot of lunch. A really sweet little tea room. We had homemade tomato and lentil soup which was delish, our son had some little sandwiches and we all shared some delicious chunky chips. Very good service, nice and friendly.

Abbots tearoom is situated in the heart of the village of Cerne Abbas a picturesque village well worth a visit. The tearoom is a perfect place to stop for a lovely Dorset cream tea, cake (great choice)or whatever else takes your fancy from a varied and great menu, savoury or sweet. There is also breakfast on the menu so a great place to go before going off on a walk or after exploring the pretty village. If you’re looking for an excellent pot of tea in a truly English tearoom then this is the place to go.

We happened upon the back entrance to the cafe after an invigorating walk up to the Giant’s Hill. It was great that there was a back garden with some tables benefiting from shelter, because we had to wet and muddy dogs that we could not take inside. I went inside to order our food. There was a nice calm atmosphere but quite welcoming. The cakes on display looked very appetising, to a standard I would expect really from a tea room serious about it’s trade.

Popped in for tea and cake, Abotts had obviously been very busy as most tables were either occupied or had dirty crockery on them.

We only stopped in for tea and cake but the tea was excellent and the cakes delicious - and I am an expert on coffee walnut cake. They were busy but unstressed and all came with courtesy and a smile. Perfect, really.
