The New Inn in West Dorset

Visited last week with friends. Lovely welcome as we walked in. Amazing choice of food on the menu. I had the plaice, my friends had the belly pork and fish pie. We said how delicious our meals were. Would definitely recommend. So friendly.

Very friendly, community owned pub. We were here on holiday, and while there were clearly lots of regulars in, our young family was welcomed and made to feel at home. The food was delicious, I recommend the fish pie, which was superb.

Found this gem of a pub by accident. Highly recommend

The best Sunday roast! We had the roast beef - can thoroughly recommend - portions are huge but so delicious we had to finish it! Amazing staff, efficient and helpful - pub was warm and welcoming on the cold, blustery day we went! Dog friendly pub - my dog enjoyed the bar biscuits! Will definitely be back - Thank you

This pub just keeps getting better and better. Food , hospitality and atmosphere second to none. I've had two wonderful Christmas dinners there and the atmosphere last week for the lighting of the Xmas tree was the best ever. Our community have just funded the resurfacing of the car park. Inside and outside the pub is going from strength to strength

Great food, very welcoming with great service

We love this pub! We come down to Dorset as often as we can and we always make sure we visit the New Inn more than once the team are great especially Andrea who works so hard keeping everything perfect. The food is excellent too and there is something for every one! The beer is kept well and we have never had a less than lovely experience there. Looking forward to next time!

My wife and I visited for dinner, last night. Great atmosphere, with the bar being full on a Friday night. Decent drinks selection. The restaurant is fantastic and the meal we had was the best. I can't rate the belly of pork and mash enough! Incredible!!! Fantastic service. If you are in the area, treat yourself! Great service, great food, great price. We will be back 😁👍

If you are ever in the area I recommend you try this pub the food is amazing and the staff are really friendly and welcoming we visited recently and had Sunday roast very large portions and was delicious,and we went back the following evening and again was lovely we will definitely go there again if in the area

Another visit to the New Inn, this time to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. There was a warm welcome to our party of nine who travelled from Surrey and Hampshire, we all had a thoroughly good time and were impressed by Andrea and her staff who provided us with an exceptional Sunday lunch and evening meal. She was able to provide meals to meet everybody's dietary needs and decorated our part of the pub with banners. We couldn't have wished for a better place to celebrate or landlady to celebrate with. A big thank you to you all.

We were a little lost looking for Burton Bradstock when we came across this pub just as they were opening up on a Saturday evening . What a find! Lovely welcome by the landlady and great selection on the menu boards . We chose 2 x sausage and mash and 1 crab baguette and salad . Didn’t have to wait long for the food and we all agreed our meals were delicious and very reasonably priced. The landlady and the barman were attentive and we had a lovely chat about the pub being a community asset . Cannot fault …. The food, drinks, overall cleanliness, comfortable seating, general ambience and efficient members of staff . Thoroughly recommend . We will be back and have recommended to our friends and family. Thanks for a great evening .

Great little local village pub. Friendly staff, good beer (particularly the Palmers Copper), excellent food. The pork loin was fantastic and plentiful. Very dog friendly. A very enjoyable dinner (England Rugby on the TV a bonus).

What a super friendly and welcoming host. After a long days walking, we were greeted with a warm welcome, very comfortable rooms, with lovely little extra touches, a comfy bed, delicious evening meal (great selection on the menu) and a hearty breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

Beautiful community run pub in pretty village. Fantastic crab baguettes with gorgeous salad at this lovely welcoming friendly obliging pub we walked here from Graston Copse Campground in the boiling heat and had a great Sunday lunch :)) Andrea is the Best Meine host ever!! Very recommended ❤️

Definitely worth the walk from Graston Farm (circa 1.5 miles each way), or anywhere else for that matter. We both had baguettes, one crab and one ham & tomato, and they were absolutely delicious - and good value too. Planning to visit again before the end of our stay to sample more of the menu.

Lovely quaint little pub, staff were super friendly and helpful, lots of drinks to choose from and very accommodating for a large party with kids and dogs, food was a mixed bag across the table, some dishes were good and others could've been better. Menu's were on chalk boards so you can't tell they cycle the menu. I would go again.

Lovely welcome from the landlady who went the extra mile to book us in for lunch.Two lovely roast dinners served with a smile. A good place to stop then on to the subtropical gardens at abbotsbury not to far away.

Once again we were back in the beautiful shipton gorge. The new inn has become our second home now for two years in a row. Andrea is the most wonderful landlady and host and makes us feel like family every time we visit! And really deserves and award for the hard work she puts in for all aspects of the pub. The food is wonderful and so is the cider!. Being only a short walk away meant we were there every night to enjoy her company and the atmosphere of the pub. There is nothing she won’t accommodate, especially with having our small son with us (ice cream a plenty). There’s a wonderful pub garden with fantastic views that you will never tire of seeing. Be aware, no phone signal (O2) which is actually a blessing from the rat race of a busy town but Wi-Fi is provided inside. We would highly recommend making a visit and potentially making new friends and finding out about this beautiful village. Stunning hanging baskets not included ;)

Went to see The Blues 3 Gig with a group from Shipton. The venue was terrific, the food delicious and the music sensational. Andrea the Landlady and her team hosted 120 guests with friendly professionalism. It was a memorable night.

What a delightful place this is. We visited for lunch and were greeted with a very warm and friendly welcome by Andrea who made us feel very welcome throughout our visit. The pub is a charming old establishment in the centre of the village with a delightful well kept garden. The lunch menu was extensive, we had 3 courses, prawn cocktail, chilli and ham egg and chips followed by the Dorset Apple Cake, which Andrea told us was homemade locally and was melt in the mouth delicious. The portion size of all courses was very good and we came away feeling completely satisfied. Thank you Andrea and your team for making our visit so enjoyable. I would highly recommend this lovely pub and we will be visiting again.

We stopped into the New Inn after bowling in Burton Bradstock and we had a really lovely meal, generous portions and very tasty- puddings were delicious too. Fantastic service, friendly staff, tasty food, lovely sized portions and wonderful Dorset Real Ale. Would recommend a slight detour off the main road to try this Inn. We were heading to West Bay/Bridport when we read the reviews of this pub. Took a detour to try it out for lunch and were very pleased. It's highly rated for a good reason and lives up to all the reviews. They know how to make you feel welcome. Look forward to dropping in again next time we're driving by.
