The best restaurants in Torrington Torridge South West

I met with my friends at No 37 today. We all enjoyed our food - the best cheese scones ever! We have always loved meeting here and are very sad to hear that it is closing. Best wishes for your future endeavours.

The proprietor kept it open for us to enjoy tea and coffee- which ere excellent- in a Covid-safe manner, and provided outstanding home cooked scones as well

Dropped in for a coffee over the Christmas period. Nice and warm, cosy with friendly staff, good coffee and range of cakes and lunches. Warm, clean toilets, will be back.

When the Saturday Pannier market is open Shaun will normally be there serving great food, and selling his spices, and sauces We both had the Chicken shawarma, and it was great- plenty of met, great range of veggie, in a massive wrap Great value for money, and really tasty

We decided to give the Green Lantern a try, after not visiting for a very long time. Disappointed to say that it felt unusual to have a cafe serve coffee from a vending type machine that you might find in an old petrol station. Was insipid. We ordered a baguette and a toasted sandwich. The bacon was rubbery, think it may have been cooked earlier and warmed up, and it wasn’t very toasted! Such a shame, but we wouldn’t visit again.

We went to the Union in on Saturday the 14th Dec for an evening meal with freinds from Birmingham, who were staying at Shebbear . The atmosphere was frindly and the staff helpfull . The menue is really good and I said to my wife we must come back again soon to try some of these other meals . Two of us went for the specials item of lamb steak and chips with all the trimmings onion rings, tomatoes, mushrooms ( realy tasty mushrooms ) peas and loads and loads of delicious chips . We were stuffed ! No room for deserts I'm affraid . We have been here before and had the lovely sunday roast take aways as we only life at Frithelstock stone . We really recomend this pup . Food was excellent great atmosphere and far too much for us to finish but I tried. My youngest said it’s the best meal she’s ever had ( better not tell the wife).

Absolutely the best fish & chips I’ve ever had! Fish & chips used to be a “once in a while” thing for us, but since moving here & treating ourselves on the night we moved in, we’ve treated ourselves every week for the past 6 weeks! They aren’t greasy like some. Perfect portion size too. Everything is just spot on perfect. Thank you Taffs x

Provided lovely food and the staff were friendly and efficient. There is plenty of parking as it is in an old railway siding.

Had an impromptu lunch at the Yarde Orchard in September 2024. Delicious coffee and tuna baguette and lovely setting, all at a reasonable price.
