L'Incontro Italian Coffee Shop in Torridge

The proprietor kept it open for us to enjoy tea and coffee- which ere excellent- in a Covid-safe manner, and provided outstanding home cooked scones as well

Unfortunately we had already eaten breakfast at home so we just had coffees, but the menu looked great, & next time we'll eat here too. A nice welcome, good service, & lovely coffee. We were happy it was all done following the appropriate procedures with hand sanitizer etc & Track & Trace details were taken. We'll be back.

Called in for the first time with a couple of friends. Had planned to just have a coffee and a cake but the descriptions of the toasted ciabattas were too good to resist. The coffee was delivered straight away and the ciabattas followed quite soon after, freshly cooked. Delicious and substantial. Will definitely be back again.

I always go to this coffee shop when I visit Torrington regularly. Gary is lovely & his coffee is awesome. So are the fab snacks. Love it !!

Lots of Italian-sounding snacks, each of which is substantial and filling. Great choice of coffees and different types of tea. Usually a copy of the Gazette to browse; enjoy an unhurried coffee or meal break.

Have just eaten the best Toasted Ciabatta ever. I had the Romano and hubby had the Milanese. Both were loaded with toppings and we really enjoyed them. Sharing with each other was a bonus as we could have twice the enjoyment. If you're in the town then don't miss this gem of a cafe. Prices are very reasonable too for such a fulfilling meal. A big thumbs up 👍 for the chef.

Wonderful coffee! Clean and bright space. Friendly service. Expresso is done like an expresso is meant to be served - and was delicious. Thank you.

My wife and I week looking for a snack and drink and the place looked inviting and clean. Menu read well. We never expected it to be as wonderful as it was. Italian tomato soup was thick and flavourful. The toasted chicken ciabatta was outstanding. Not only that but the coffee was excellent and also the tea! As I said, don't walk past...

I tried L'Incontro for the first time just before Christmas and received very friendly service and a warm, relaxed atmosphere. I decided to bring another friend in this week, the coffee was lovely (i'm quite fussy) there is a good selection for those who like fancier coffees, flavours etc and it is all reasonably priced. We stayed for a light snack as well and ordered a bruschetta. The toppings were very generous and overall dish was great (mozzarella, pesto and olive, Yum). With a great location close to the pannier market, and local independent shops, you can grab a coffee to go too! This will definitely be my coffee stop from now on!

Situated close to Torringtons centre. This venue offers a good choice of hot drinks and specialises in Italian coffee. It also has choices of cakes, panini, home made soup etc. Small on the outside but deceptively large on the interior. The place is well furnished with a choice of small tables and also sofas. Very friendly and welcoming attentive staff.

Agree with all the comments about great coffee, friendly & comfortable. Want to add that L'incontro recently made & supplied a brilliant buffet for 30 people for us. Lovely range of food, all great quality & delivered efficiently, including for special diets. Thanks Gary & Deea!

The coffee is the best in town, that's if you really love a great tasting coffee ! The selection of pastries and cake are fantastic and not too costly. Inside it's very cosy with comfortable seats and tables, a great place to sit and rest after a walk. They also have wi-fi so if you need to do a little work with your coffee or pot of tea you can. It's hard not to relax and enjoy the friendly atmosphere which this place has. Staff are are always helpful and friendly, so give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Very nice coffee, lots of seating...bigger than it looks from the outside. Lots of cake type things on display but didnt try any this time. friendly staff 😀

Proper coffee relaxing atmosphere with good freshly prepared food and on the door step this is I hope a place that will continue to please and stay

A very good range of locally-sourced food which is served by attentive and courteous staff always with a friendly smile.

Spent an hour here after walking on the commons around Torrington. Perfect just to sit and chill for a while. Coffee tastes fantastic, snacks good too.

A very nice coffee shop with a friendly staff. The atmosphere is cosy and comfortable, the coffee is the best one we've had in Torrington and the cakes are absolutely delicious. We will be one of the regular customers and definitely recommend this coffee shop.

It's great to finally see an a proper and independent coffee shop in a place like Torrington, it's long overdue. There is a decent selection of homemade pastries and cakes and proper coffee at a reasonable price.

Lovely decoration and atmosphere but expensive. Cappuccino more like a latte (£2.80), and the tea was a tea bag in a cup ( £1.50)

Such a fantastic, friendly atmosphere with a fantastic range of lovely coffee and cakes. Definitely recommend it. :)

The perfect place to relax and enjoy your coffee!!! Nice and elegant! The coffee is delicious! You must visit that place at least once...I guarantee you will do it again! Try it!
