We always get warm and friendly service, the staff are knowledgeable and helpful. The food is superb with a limited range of options that are superbly prepared and served. The coffee is delicious and the atmosphere is relaxed.

A lovely coffee shop with great views out onto the estuary. The staff are really friendly and it is obviously a popular place with locals and visitors of Appledore.

Decent breakfast. Like some other eateries in the village the prices are on there high side, which the midrange quality of the ingredients don’t justify in my view. From seeing other reviews, looks like prices have significantly increased recently, which I can only assume is down to rising costs for small local independent businesses. Coffee was good, and the mushrooms on toast, with an additional poached egg, were very tasty and perfectly seasoned and prepared. Service was attentive but I wouldn’t go as far as saying overly friendly or welcoming. I sat in a small upstairs area, which I was thankful for, as the entire downstairs was full with a local meet-up which would have felt awkward.

Delighted to find this welcoming café on the quay. Enjoyed a delicious lunch and coffee in the room upstairs which has a view out to the estuary. Wish I’d had room for one of the wonderful-looking cakes, but it gives me a good reason to return. Lovely staff!

Really great breakfast and just the right amount of food to feel nicely full. People who served us were friendly and accommodating with our group size.

Wife and I shared crab sandwich and cake. Delicious, presented with crisps and salad. Not sure what the cake was, but I'd like another!

We came on the hunt for a crab sandwich and they delivered - amazing! The prawn sandwich was extremely satisfying too.

The most amazing peanut stew on their specials board! Coffee was high quality and the cake selection was varied and delicious!

Enjoyed a full English breakfast here. Whilst the food was enjoyable, I found it pricey compared to the size of the breakfast, which comprised 1 sausage, 1 bacon, mini black pudding, a miniature cups of baked beans, mushrooms, half a tomato and toast. Coffee was expensive at £3.60 for a large mug, so overall breakfast and coffee cost £15.50. Staff were very friendly and helpful, but I found the premises quite cramped and restricted as it is quite small there.

We ate twice at the Coffee cabin - we had the doorstop crab sandwich & it was delicious - the coffee was so good too - then we had a devon cream tea which was beautifully presented & really tasty - we were going to have another drink but alas we were put of by 2 large dogs now in a small seating area - we found this very off putting panting dogs large tail swinging everywhere looking for food one of the waiting staff came over & made a real fuss of the dog my immediate thought was are you going to wash your hands now ?? I'm sorry but I don't think it's fair on paying customers to be surrounded by animals & really put us off - please think about your paying customers as the animals don't actually pay.

As always, very popular. Lovely food, atmosphere also. Sometimes appears a little chaotic but it all adds to the charm.

Always love coming to The Coffee Cabin when visiting family in North Devon. Fantastic food, lovely atmosphere and great, friendly service, would 100% recommend going.

Lovely, bustling cafe. Scone was my favorite in appledore! Sandwiches were enormous and very tasty. We could easily have shared one sandwich between us. My husband loved his flat white. We did have to remind/ask the staff for the scone after a 30 minute wait, but they were busy so very understandable! Would definitely return

An award winning café for good reason. Consistently good coffee, hot chocolate and extra cheesy scone. We ordered the same for 3 of the 5 days we stayed in Appledore. On our last day we splurged for the ham and poached eggs on toast with hollandaise sauce but it was a disappointment. We should’ve stuck with the savoury scone.

There for the bank holiday and is probably the best coffee in the West. Would and have always recommended this place to anyone visiting the area.

Great staff, great food. The Cabin is small but worth asking if there's space as there are a couple of seats hidden away. Specials always have something interesting and in my experience food arrives promptly and with a smile. Worth getting there early for lunch! Friendly to our baby too ;)

We visit Appledore regularly and it wouldn’t be the same without a trip to The Coffee Cabin. The staff are so warm and welcoming. And if you get a chance to try the chowder it’s a must.

The Coffee Cabin is by far our favourite place to visit! We have been customers for years now, and used to visit every weekend! Now that we have a small child, we do not visit as often, but we still choose the Coffee Cabin over anywhere else. Staff are so friendly and helpful - they will go above and beyond to make you feel welcome! Food is amazing and great quality and value for money. Child and dog friendly - no one is excluded! Everyone knows our love for The Coffee Cabin - every Birthday/ Christmas we are given Gift Vouchers! I urge anyone who hasn’t visited to make a trip (you won’t be disappointed!) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Upon entering at around 4.30 was told they were closing . No sympathy for seaside shops, small business that end going out of business - avoid it

Fantastic little cafe, the staff seemed very cheery and it was great to hear them having a good laugh in the kitchen. The decaf coffee was really lovely! The decor is fun and the Facebook like counter on the wall was something different too!

Came in the minute it opened on a Saturday morning, after a walk around Northam Burrows Smart, fresh little space, with a great display of fresh cakes and pastries, some amazing artwork on the wall, a neat, select menu, and an array of Specials. Staff are friendly too I had the Cabin’s Breakfast and a couple of Cappuccinos, spending a very relaxed hour or so in this busy, bustling space, enjoying lovely food and good coffee Perhaps a tad on the expensive side, but…

In Appledore for the afternoon and found this little gem. Lovely staff and absolutely amazing cherry bakewell - dare I say it .... better than M&S and my Granny's.

This isn't a café, it's a corner of paradise! If I could magically transport The Coffee Cabin in my rucksack and release it whenever and wherever I am, I'd be happier than a torn open bag of fresh coffee beans! Ooh, that blissful aroma!! Beautifully situated with a heavenly view across the water, The Coffee Cabin is a place of pilgrimage for anyone with a love of a chilled vibe, delicious home-cooked food, wonderfully welcoming staff and, of course, lip-smackingly delicious coffee! Now, where did I put my rucksack...?! :-)

We first visited this cafe around 7 years ago I think. It has maintained the high quality food and great customer service that we experienced during our first visit. The staff are always lovely, helpful and friendly. The food is of the highest quality and cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend.

The crab sandwich came in door step size slices so the only way to eat is to squash it and then the filling falls out, unless their usual customer has a larger than normal size mouth? Why cut the crusts off unless asked as some people like the crusts and what happened to the promised white crab meat? At £13 I expect a better quality and that includes washing the lettuce leaves so they are not crunchy with the fine soil on all the leaves, the coleslaw is still good but the crab sandwich not as good as before.

What a lovely welcome. Dog friendly which was a plus for us. Mom is always raving about the crab sandwich and they did not disappoint. I had a doorstop cheese and chutney sandwich which was huge. It isn't a supermarket so don't expect supermarket prices.

I only had a takeaway coffee and my review is about that experience. The coffee was average. The price was not. I saw £3.10 on the menu for a medium americano which I thought was expensive but I had bought my own cup (saving the cost to the cafe of a takeaway cup and saving the planet in a small way at the same time) so I expected to pay less. I was mistaken; in fact the coffee cost me more; £3.25! 15p extra for decaffeinated!! I've never been charged extra for a decaf before & I have to drink that because caffeine causes me heart palpitations, so it feels like being discriminated against for having a disability.

Stumbled across this little gem. The staff are friendly and service was fast. Doorstep sandwiches are just that, grandson had one. I had a sausage sandwich which had plenty of sausages in and bread was decent size. Latte was perfect.

A small kitchen with a large menu of fresh food. Nicely decorated in the nautical theme and the window seats have a lively view across the water and beaches to the hills beyond. Simply lovely. And most importantly, the food was really tasty.

Stopped in for a quick bite to break up our journey. Made really welcome even though we arrived just in time for food. Had an amazing doorstep sandwich of local ham with delicious home made slaw and my wife had a great toasted cheese sandwich. Great service and would have loved to stay longer if we'd had time

Bloody fantastic, tiny cafe, do takeaway sandwiches including bacon sausage and egg, massive doorstep slices of soft white bread, gorgeous cuppa tea and all packaging is compostable or recyclable. Delicious cakes, every kind of milk imaginable including potato milk!!!!!!

Fully deserves its high rating, coffee was perfect! It was a super hot day, so we only tried an iced coffee, but even so you could taste the lovely espresso! The cafe itself is well positioned on the water front and offers a bright and airy setting for a coffee. Art by local artists is displayed on the walls to great effect.

We stayed in Appledore and had coffee here often. Cappuccino was very good!

Dropped in for brunch, and so glad we did. Lovely staff, great menu and über cool place. The poached eggs on toast I had were not only gorgeous, and perfectly cooked, they kept me going for ages. My girls both had something different and were very happy with their selection. Well be back, to loosely quote Arnie.
