The best restaurants in St Margaret Swindon South West

Today I was taken here for lunch, by a very elderly couple. Two of us ordered fish and chips. One looked okay, but mine should never have left the kitchen. It was immediately obvious that there was almost no fish, as it was very, very thin. Grossly overcooked, when I gingerly cut into it, the rock-hard batter flew onto the table. I shovelled this back onto the plate, once I had rescued what I could. Under different circumstances, this plate would have been returned before even touching it. As their guest, I did not want to possibly embarrass them . Truly dreadful, chips overcooked to dark brown as well. Horrendous meal.

Amazing food. Great portions, separate and really good Gluten Free menu. Pulled pork and Chicken Burritos were some of the best we ever tried. Great service too.

Excellent fish and chips and now very consistent. Food is always fresh and tasty. Great friendly service. One of the best I have used. Always busy which is good sign. Batter is always crispy and chips are tasty.

I recently ordered an amazing burrito from here with a side of Nachos. When the food arrived it was packaged well in separate boxes, which was good as burritos have a tendency to go soggy on delivery, this one was still warm, the wrap was as you'd expect it to be and the filling was very flavoursome. However, the Nachos let them down, although tasty, there was no Salsa or Guacamole on the Nachos, instead some cheap grated cheese melted with some sliced chillies and some cubed tomato. This was unfortunate, as a fellow chef I know how easy Nachos are to make as a dish, it's not hard. Kick Ass Burrito make amazing burritos, but not so great nachos. If I could give any feedback to this place it would be add guacamole and salsa to the nachos, they are priced quite high considering they lack some ingredients. Without the Guacamole and Salsa it was just like eating some dry nacho chips. But would definitely recommend giving them a go.

Yesterday i had my 55th Birthday party at the Rat Trap, the function room was perfect for this occasion, had plenty of room with private outdoor area, private bar and brilliant staff , with amazing food, i have never seen a graze table like it, simply outstanding, will definitely be using this again

Ordered food for delivery at 6:30 in the evening saying it will take 15 to 25 minutes to deliver it finally turned up at 8:30 2hr later and everything was stone cold. They said they’d give me a full refund. refunded the money for the food but not the £3.50 delivery and the £1 service charge. A joke really when it said it was only gonna take 25 minutes to deliver not two hours. Always have a problem with Greenbridge none of the other KFC‘s in Swindon just Greenbridge

Went for a friends birthday meal, expected the worst as last time I was here was years ago back when I was little I’m now 21. I can gladly say it was really good! I ordered a cheeseburger with chips and every bit of the burger was delicious and the chips were spot on, ate the lot. Then for pudding I had brownie with ice cream and this was sickly but so good, didn’t manage to eat all of it due to how rich it was but still good. Overall I’d give this restaurant a 8.5/10

Brilliant Mother's Day lunch with family and friends yesterday! What a wonderful menu with lots to choose from. Good service, nice atmosphere. Well done!

We visited this branch today myself and my mum who is 89. Dan was extremely helpful with my mum helping her with the costa app to get her free drink. We cone here most weeks all the staff are very friendly and helpful. Best costa I've been too. Always very busy but the staff are efficient and never a long wait. Well done to you all. And thank you.

Food was absolutely beautiful. Not only did the spicy Biriyani have loads of flavour but it was full of Lamb and one of the best I’ve had in Swindon and even better than that it was also one of the cheapest, proving that expensive doesn’t mean good. I had a spicy chicken tikka Masala and again I can only say the same about that dish, it was perfectly balanced. Definitely going to order from there again and again……

AWFULL worst fish and chips fish dry like eating cardboard chips nasty. We had Chinese from there as well and that was terrible to will never go there again needs new chefs and ownership to

Me and wife had large breakfast. Wife's beans were solidified together, burnt on bottom. All 4 fried eggs were solid and rubbery. Bacon so under cooked I heard it oink. When we complained all we got was . " I will mention it to the chef" . Like that's gonna change anything. 1 star. Nuffield said.

We stopped here for an early dinner. The empty car park almost put us off. It’s been a while since I have been to Pizza Hut and I won’t be returning. This place is seriously lacking any kind of customer service and feels like it will probably be the next eating place to close its doors. Everything is ordered via your phone at the table and you pay for it at the time of ordering. The salad bar isn’t great, not much of a selection and lacking in freshness. The pizza was lacking cheese and the toppings were tiny portions. The puddings were fit for the bin. Kids plastic crockery was in need of replacing. Staff were all behind the scenes and only came out to shout at the kids who were having a party. We got an apology for the rank puddings but there wasn’t an offer to replace them with something else or give us our money back. I can’t really find anything positive to say about this place, other than there is plenty of parking!

Please don't attempt to book at this restaurant or hotel, this was closed a couple of years ago and has recently been the subject of a large fire. Right next door to a retail park, guess what will happen next?
