Lived in Totnes all my life and have only just ordered from here. Definitely my new favourite Chinese! Absolutely love the fact you can opt for vermicelli noodles rather than egg noodles for the chow mein and its super tasty. Egg fried rice is great too. Loved the Cantonese sauce with the ribs!
The food was good to very good, the service super friendly, great for a hotel bar/pub. The interior is conservatively furnished with partly antique furniture, very cosy.
Please, do not confuse The Shambles of Dartmouth is a bar but it’s No.1 on Higher street (in the corner T junction with Smith Street) yes, small place, music and good company
See you there xx
You can see from the mixed reviews how people’s experiences have varied so much . We can only speak as we find and for four visits over four years our experiences have been really good. We have been able to pre order and pick ups have always been on time . Fish and chips were admittedly a bit pricey on our latest visit but taste and portion sizes were spot on .
Visited The School House today, they were extremely busy, just the chef and 1 girl FOH….. both were run off their feet. They smiled the whole time, service was great and I didn’t wait. The food was the best food I’ve eaten in a long time, everyone around me were also saying how amazing their food was. Really well done….. I’ll be back soon!
Catching up with friends we thought we will go for a nice cream tea and have a look at a possible wedding venue for my friend.
We arrived the place on the outset is beautiful, we walked in there was no one to greet us, so we sat ourselves at a table in the bar. 10 minutes in no one came to serve us so my friend went to reception to say we wanted to place a food order. The staff seemed reluctant to see to us. We waited a further 10 minutes to which no one came. To which we left, the staff saw us walk out and didn't bat an eyelid they just carried on talking. Absolutely horrendous customer service. Will never visit here again!!!! Get some new staff who want to work and make their customers happy!! I was reluctant in giving this a 1 star it is only because i had too!
We visited the Flavel for the screening of King Lear direct from London. This was superb but the cafe wasn't open when we turned up and we couldn't even get a cup of coffee during the twenty minute break as only alcoholic drinks or two soft drinks were available at the bar. It didn't spoil our evening but we needed the caffiene at the time and couldn't get it

I couldnt give no stars but they dont deserve 1.
This has got to be the worst pizza in history no flavour, seemed like they were frozen pizza rather than freshly cooked. The base was so hard it broke my tooth, as for cheesey chips there was no cheese.
I won't be ordering from them again, will be going back to alibees
This is a burger bar. There's not a lot more to say. It could be so much better but it isn't. It's just average. One could argues it doesn't pretend to be anything else, but it just strikes us as a missed opportunity. Have a meal at the Victoria opposite and spot the difference

Came across this on the Ivybridge Community page. Pizza from a converted House box with a pizza oven inside, why not? and why not give it a try.
Not sure how regular there are in the area as this is a mobile pizza wagon but post on page was for Friday between 6pm and 9pm so presume that is regular but may be more days/times.
so rang up the number listed on Facebook page (and now this one also) and placed order at 6pm for 2 Pizzas for collection at 7.45pm
drove round to Blair Road industrial estate (behind friends garage and opposite skate park car park) to find qwent little house box all lit up with a roaring Pizza oven inside amazing how hourse box had been transformed and very clean looking with a friendly couple serving.
both the Pizzas done dead on 7.45pm and were very nice, but for £8.50 each felt a little on the small side. both of us felt satisfied with own amount but certainly wouldn't be enough for two people to share one pizza so considering can get larger pizzas to share for around same price at 3 different places in high street literally just round corner I worry this may be a problem in the future.
the toppings were very nice and can tell good quality ingredients (don't know if organic/local sourced?) compared to what would normally get at chain takeaways. just depends if going for quality for more money or quantity for less I guess.
Anyway a quirky little idea and hope the couple running it can go on and build up a good reputation and business.
Lovely varied menu with lots to choose from. We chose baguettes and wraps which were really lovely. Shame we didn’t have room for a cake.
Would definitely come back here to eat again.
