We are fairly local and have visited a few times previously. Our last visit the children realised there was a soft play area but unfortunately it was all fully booked (pre book online). This time as I knew we were visiting the area I made sure to book them a slot (10, 8, 6 and 2) the price was £4.50 per child and adults could enter for free the slots were 2hrs long for us this is very good value for money comparing to other soft plays we’ve been to/seen. It is set behind the cafe area of the garden centre and is a small but well equipped play frame. The baby/toddler area wasn’t great but our 2 year old could easily access everywhere else with her older siblings. As we arrived the staff were informed us they were just finishing off cleaning between sessions which is great to know and it really was spotless in there. I overheard that 25 children are booked per slot which seemed to be the case as it was not heaving it was a perfect level of children able to interact and play without the fear you couldn’t spot what was going on. We had a tea, coffee and two brownies for £13 which I thought was pretty good value. There are also two toilets located within the soft play section so you didn’t have to traipse around the rest of the garden centre. It’s a great little addition and really good value for money.

It has been several years since my wife and I last ate in this restaurant and it used to be pretty awful. Three of us sat for lunch. We had ordered two hot dishes and a salad. The salad arrived within 15 minutes but the hot dishes arrived 30 minutes later by which time my son had eaten his salad. My food (steak and ale pie) was at best of average quality with luke warm mashed potato and peas that were a rather tired. All for £15! I will try again in several years.

We've had MANY a lovely brekkie here in the past year... But today was a disaster. Cold, dried out bacon, cold raw tomato, cold, hard overcooked sausage and overcooked fried egg. In the past, real attention to detail yet today, utter rubbish

We went for afternoon tea in the beautifully decorated room at the back with lovely plates - drinks flowing and the food was awesome- Charlotte was excellent- Thabk you 💞

Afternoon Tea excellent sat in the lounge pre booked with friends. Relaxed atmosphere. Lovely cakes, sandwiches, quiches scones jam and cream. Couldn't eat all so brought some home. Very attentive staff would highly recommend and will definitely be back in the near future.

Visited restaurant for lunch as a family. The food was so disappointing and expensive for what you got. I wish I had taken photos!! Will never return

Spoke to person in charge regarding previous review. Management needs to review their decision in not letting Supervisor make management decisions if Manager is off. Felt sorry for the staff dealing with the fallout which could have been prevented with Supervisor being allowed to take role of 'Acting Manager'. Lots of complaints witnessed.

An hour wait for breakfast after only opening 15 minutes prior! Breakfast warm and not hot! Absolute joke! If you cannot organise a fast breakfast service then do not offer breakfast! Another table waited an hour for granola!

For my Birthday we booked an Afternoon tea. The Afternoon tea was great, 3 layers of goodies to enjoy. Sandwiches, quiche and a sausage roll for savoury items. Scone and lovely little cakes for the sweet items. All fresh and delicious. I also liked the way there was a special area, just off the restaurant for afternoon tea guests, decorated as an English garden. Thoroughly enjoyable

I don't understand the bad reviews as my friend I have never had a bad meal at Endsleigh GC. I chose the Thai style crab cakes with an Asian Noodle Salad and it was delicious. My friend had the gammon egg and chips and she also enjoyed her's. However, my meal arrived after my friend finished her's so I was NOT happy about that.

From time to time we visit Endsleigh Garden Centre, and it's always a pleasant experience as staff are friendly, welcoming and attentive.

Visited for first time shop itself very nice But the restaurant is a joke We bought our hot drinks and ordered hot food 40 minutes wait is ridiculous eventually when it came no polite sorry it’s late just plonked on table so time food got to us our drinks were cold Need more people or better organisation

The purpose of our visit was to have lunch. There was a 45 minute wait as they were extremely busy. I decided to kill some time looking at the food section of the store, mainly for Gluten free. there was a very poor selection available with the shelves half empty. The gluten free flour was on another shelf alongside other flours where cross-contamination could occur. Everything was way overpriced. The food when it arrived was average. My grandson had the Gourmet cheesy chips, which was a few chips stuck in a flowerpot with a bit of cheese on top. Again, way overpriced. There was a reasonable choice of gluten free on the menu but I did pass on the very small slice of heavy looking gluten free sponge cake at nearly £4! Afterwards we had intended to shop for a couple of items but the store is now so large, that we could not find what we were looking for. Besides, as I use a walking stick and my daughter was on crutches, we could not face a third walk right across the store to pay for goods as the only tills were situated at the opposite end of the store to the garden section. Verdict: Badly laid out store, not disabled freindly and overpriced. Sorry but there are better garden centres nearer Plymouth that are much more user friendly. Sort yourself out Endsleigh!

Either the management can't staff it or 75% of the staff can't be humble enough to apologise. A 1hr wait for some sandwiches and a jacket potato is ridiculous, just stop taking clients in like any other restaurant would. The food was actually tasty after the wait

Like most garden centres, Endsleigh does not just sell garden plants and equipment, but sells food, clothing and a variety of other stuff. It's not the cheapest but there's plenty of choice. Sadly, unlike some other garden centres, they allow non-asistance dogs into the store. There seemed to be a lot of dogs in this morning. Not sure I would want to buy clothing that a wet dog has wet nosed through. Witnessed a woman glance back at her dog as it urinated against a display and then she walked on. Firstly, a slip hazard! Then from a health and hygiene point of view, very unhygienic. Children were present, one with a lollipop. Dog owners are a minority. Owning a dog is a responsibility that some dog owners do not discharge as they should. We did speak to a member of staff and hope that no one fell because of the urine.

We have just been today and had their version of a carvery. Having queued for 45mins we had to wait for them to bring out more potatoes, which were at best anemic. They obviously had been taken out of the oven too early. We sat down to eat, we both chose the pork, which was very bland. My husband ate his as he was hungry, but I couldn't eat half of mine. The carrots and brocoli were hard and the cauliflower cheese was watery. The whole meal was very bland. I decided to speak to a manager, who said they were very busy today, pointed out my husband had eaten his and said I'd eaten a lot of mine, which I hadn't. At these prices which is around £2 more than we pay locally for a fantastic carvery we go to, it is just not good value for money. It is sad to say I will not be coming back even to the garden centre, due to the total lack of respect the member of staff showed.

Appalling service. Waited over the 30 minutes as indicated, with 2 young children. The plates came separately, one at a time. The first plate came, the server said “anything else I can get you?” We said “Yes, the other 3 plates! The food was awful. I had a feta cheese and spinach pie in a filo pastry, heated in a microwave? Really soggy, with a “salad” of potato & pasta in a mustard mayonnaise! We asked for sauce for the other meals, he came back with mayonnaise? The food was awful and the service really awful too.

Appalling service, had to wait 20 minutes to order and a further 35 minutes for panini. Substandard food.

We have just visited Endsleigh to see the Xmas things and have lunch. When an omelette, panini, jacket potato and 3 drinks cost over £40, your won't be rushing back, especially when they actually charge for simple sauces and an extra! The Xmas section is no where near as good as it used to be and I have to say I was gobsmacked at the prices. Completely overpriced all of it. So much so we didn't purchase a thing. I'm sure if Endsleigh dropped their prices drastically they would sell more and actually make a larger a profit. They're selling the same stuff as many other retailers but completely out pricing themselves. I very much doubt I'll ever go back.

Not ideal for people who have mobility issues as they have blocked off a lot of the spaces you could walk through but now with the Christmas displays out it is a long route march, especially if in urgent need of the toilet! Yes I know they want to sell Christmas items but no consideration given to elderly or less mobile people. There were so many little dogs in the store today they were a real nuisance, my elderly dad nearly went over because the owners of a dog were not controlling it - very dangerous and inconsiderate. I used to enjoy my visits but not anymore.

Overpriced my husband had a risotto which was uneatable. Fish and chips should have said batter and chips very poor quality and not worth the money.

In the Cafe ( not restaurant) a milk shake is £4.95 for about 400 ml , it was meant to have ice cream in it but I could not taste it , a rip off . I wouldn't have queued for 20 mins had I known it was going to be left fed up but had to carry on with it as the kid was tired.

Visited here with hubby, son and grandchildren. We got the childrens picnic bags first. £5.45 for half a sandwich, a bag of crisps, a small chocolate bar and a tiny…and I mean tiny…drink. We then ordered the adults food. Three sandwiches, 2 small bowls of chips and a bowl of deep fried cauliflower, two hot drinks and a coke, over £53!! The sandwiches were pretty basic, the deep fried cauliflower was tasteless and too large and the whole meal was underwhelming. The cost of this meal was way in excess of its value, it took too long to come out and we had to ask for salt, pepper and vinegar. The prices of this restaurant increase all the time, the service gets poorer every time. My advice…don’t bother. There are some nice pubs and cafes in the surrounding countryside where a lunch for three adults and two small children would not cost you over £65. I have been coming here for years but I certainly won’t be eating here ever again.

We decided to stay and have lunch as we were going to have a look around the garden centre. We went to the restaurant outside as we had our dog with us. The area is a mess with dead plants and broken pots around the area. I ordered the fish and chips while hubby ordered the Garmon. We were the only ones sat there at the time. Wasps every where. We waited and other customers came and sat down after us and ordered food. When we noticed the other customers were getting there food my husband went to see where our food was as we had waited 45 minutes. They said its on its way. We waited again and nearly a hour after we ordered it arrived. I could not eat the fish as I couldn't get the knife through the batter as it was hard. We left and will NEVER return Appalling.

Used as a convenient stop off for lunch on our way south just of the A38. This review is for the cafe not the restaurant. We did not use the restaurant as we had a dog with us, so we used the section in the cafe which allows dogs. Firstly, the staff were fine. We were just blown away by how poor our food was. I ordered the Coronation. Chicken and rocket sandwich. This came with salad and crisps. I thought the price tag of £9.45 was a bit steep, but we gave it a go. Firstly the brown bread was a sorry looking medium thin sliced with a filling of not a great deal of chicken along with no rocket at all. The salad was a basic leaf salad, they had no salad dressing. The crisps were small end of packet offerings. For the price we definitely felt cheated! The tuna and cheese melt was marginally better.

Café! Dirty tables, over priced and staff that show no customer service what so ever, turned around and came straight out. not keen on the one way system a bit like Ikea, however also went to Garden furniture Gazebo, Pergola ect and found the staff at this station very informative and helpful

Just as well we didn't read any reviews before stopping in the cafe for breakfast because I think in all honesty we wouldn't have bothered, but THANKFULLY we didn't read the reviews and had a beautiful breakfast served by extremely helpful polite staff, the cafe was clean and tidy the food was hot and throughly enjoyable and definitely worth the money. Well done to the staff you made our visit an enjoyable experience 👍

Such a sad report as it could be so lovely but it was such a let down . Shame its owned by a big company and not individuals the cakes and confectionary were appalling the hotchocolate was OK but 4 pound for the chocolate cake was appalling no taste to the cake .the biscuits they call shortcake even my doglturned his nose up to it and the bought flap jack I gave to our birds .very expensive place not enough staff nor water bowls for service dogs or dogs in general .

I went for breakfast and had a pot of tea. Was very disappointed my breakfast was not hot but came warm also my tea was the same. I asked the young lad for 4 little butters and he gave me 2 butters and a fork! (not sure what happened there). I was waiting for someone to come and ask me if every thing was ok. Just like they use too. I hadn't been to Endsleigh for breakfast for along time but I must say I didn't enjoy IT.

RUDE STAFF!!!!! extremely rude unhelpful unprofessional staff!! Never thought in my life I would have witnessed such unpleasant people in such a beautiful place ( Ivybridge) staff need better training and management need to get real the staff on the till are awkward and plan RUDE

My kids (6 and 4) love the soft play here. Especially when the singing penguins are there at Christmas too! The two hour time slots are long enough to wear them out. The adjoining cafe does good food and drinks, especially cake.

Up until lockdown we were regular customers . We were looking forward to today when they opened again. What a disappointment! Started well sat down Covid track and trace (manual) ,order taken coffee delivered. After 30mins the waitress asked if I ordered a jacket potato or a sandwich ! 10mins later I could see our food on the shelf then moved on to a trolley for some mins, it was then taken round the restaurant ending back at the food window, eventually went on another round of the restaurant then to us. Apologies were made for delay, as we had finished our coffee my partner ordered another one. The food was awful and cold and the second coffee never arrived. We left most of it as we got up to move the waitress said thank you for coming, I asked had she forgotten the coffee and told her the food was cold and not nice . All she seemed concerned with was the coffee (which we had not paid for anyway) she said the order was placed, she said to mention it the next time we were in we could have a free coffee . Don't want a free coffee just the standard of food and service we are used to from Endsleigh. I have to say it will be a while before we are back. We are lucky in Devon having a variety of good Garden centres and cafe's to chose from . Shame ! Track and trace was not collected brought it home as my personal details were on it. Just hope there are no issues!

Slow service! And when I say slow I mean slow! When food arrived it was cold! Someone must have surely left it on a trolley waiting to be collected. They just don’t care. Customer service is lacking. Food quality is poor! Eat there at your own risk!

Popped in to Endsleigh restaurant for breakfast. Wasn't busy at all and plenty of staff floating around but nobody bothered to come and take my order. After waiting for ages I left and visited the small cafe. Slightly better here but nit given a food menu and still slow. What are all those employees doing? Not looking after customers for sure.
