Booked for an Investment Club AGM. Separate room was perfect for the 20 members. Food good and plentiful, service very friendly and good, all served on time to fit our agenda. Good value for money and we will be back again

We recently had our wedding at Berwick Lodge and I cannot recommend this venue enough! Georgia and Rhiannon made everything really smooth, took care of all the details and made us feel very happy and confident with everything. One of the most important things for us was having a fully vegan wedding, and the team at Berwick Lodge went above and beyond!! The food was delicious, filling and we didn't really have to worry about anything- they had plenty of amazing options for us!! The rooms at Berwick Lodge are all stunning and we couldn't be happier with how everything went. Highly recommend Berwick Lodge if you're looking for wedding venues!!

Not been in for a year or two the old skittles ally is very much now a locals bar as the main pub is I believe for evening dining very good pint of bass for only 3.90 per pint clean bar not unfriendly

I played The Bristol yesterday as a last minute booking and was very impressed with both the service and the condition of the course. I turned up roughly and hour early for my tee time because i had to drop my dad off for an operation at Southmead. The very nice lady in the pro shop got me off about 40 minutes earlier and I had a really enjoyable round. This was made even more enjoyable by the 2 groups if ladies in front of me who allowed me through on both the 6th and 8th holes. If I was playing at my home course, I'd have been stuck behind them all day, so I was was very grateful for them allowing me through. They are a credit to the golf club. I will be definitely visiting again soon providing the wet weather holds off.

What a wonderful experience, food was amazing, everything cooked to perfection, starters, main courses and desserts, great service, ideal ambience and such amazing staff, all smiling, polite and super efficient. Prosecco on arrival was a lovely welcome. Favourite member of staff; Joe, lovely young man. Live singer. 15/10 thank you, can’t wait to do it again!

Lovely traditional meals for a mid range price. What really impressed me was the Lovely waitress who was SO welcoming to my dog. She brought out a 'plate of ham' which was basically the size of a gammon! the staff were very casual and friendly and the food was clean and lovely. Would definitely go again!

We booked the Bowl for Sunday lunch for my daughter and her partner. Started off fine as we were shown to our table at the allotted time. The first problem being that this is the worst table in winter I.e. next to the opening side of the door. Whilst someone has to sit there, we booked three weeks prior, so why seat us there where the main restaurant seating was empty? Anyway, having sat down at the correct time, it took 30 minutes before we were even approached for food and drink too-up orders - and then only after we asked if it was possible to place an order. At that point, we were advised that numerous menu items were unavailable. I accept that happens at times, but smacks of poor kitchen management, particularly as one of the unavailable ingredients was pert of a dish that was still available. Orders placed, we eagerly awaited the arrival of the starters. One bread and olives and two terrine (so already refrigerated). 25 minutes later, they arrived. The manager had already been over to apologise for the delay - fair enough, these things happen. The Whitebait was served with a chilli dipping sauce, not the usually expected tartare. Strange. Onto the main courses. These arrived, apart from one that took a further 4/5 minutes. This held 3 of us up as we didn’t want to start whilst one person was still waiting. Thankfully, 3 of the mains were well received. The beef Sunday lunch option was disgustingly. The beef was virtually un-cuttable and certainly un-chewable. The Yorkshire pudding was dripping in tepid fat. This was rejected when the person waiting on the tables came to check if ‘everything was alright’ with our meals. I should have asked who was in the kitchen - Basil Fawlty (Gourmet Night episode for those who know)? In fairness, this was a rare occurrence for the Bowl, but it was awful!

Bank Holiday Saturday and Harry Ramsden was busy. So I didn't expect most of the full English to be cold.. Nor a plentiful smothering of cold baked beans. Worse the quality was mediocre. The largely untrained team seemed to struggle. Not sure when tomato with a full English was half an uncooked salad tomato. A bad experience and I won't be visiting again.
