Fantastic food and atmosphere! Real family pub run by family. Been going for years, just writing first review. We always visit when passing through Bristol.

Went here by chance having .not visited this area in 20 years. What a friendly place. With lovely staff and even better food. Cottage pie was lovely with fresh veg that was beautifully cooked and presented and a very generous portion. The gammon my mother had which was 'real (not processed) was both succulent and flavoursome. Also very good size portion which she couldn't finish. She remarked on the superbly cooked chips. Sisters bacon and chicken baguette was very well filled and served with a fresh salad and onion rings. None of us could fit in a pudding buy the bread and butter pudding served to the adjacent table looked and smelt fabulous. Very reasonably priced. A definite recommendation .

We had 2 very good evening meals here and stayed overnight in the car park in our motorhome. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Lots of gluten free options. Highly recommended.

went for a meal but this place is hardly ever open and when it is open the food is very poor and the staff just don't care about the customers this place needs a revamp and new owners so the village can have its village pub back as it was

We eat here regularly, with different groups of friends. The food is consistently good. Very welcoming staff and a good atmosphere, and a nice country feel.

My group of 4 have been coming to the Fox monthly for the last 6 years and have really enjoyed both the atmosphere and especially the food. I fully recommend this special pub.

Had great bike ride on my XTs 500 with my son popped in for a pit stop for ice cold beer.

Can't rate the food as I only popped in for a quick drink. The food did smell good though! Lovely beer garden and outside seating area.

Went on a Monday and noise from the community center ruined my stay, some form of dance using a loud base, won't go on a Monday for sure. Was in the lovely garden.

The Fox today was fantastic. They catered for 20 members of the family aged 5 to 86 with no issues at all. We couldn't have asked for better

Lovely homemade food . The lady was welcoming and helpful nice few hours out . Small menu but had bit variety mum enjoyed her lasagna I enjoyed my curry .food came out nice and hot . We will come here again really nice place and not to far for us to go either so even better . Can't beat pubs like this . X

Called in today after collecting my daughter from uni. On our way home to South Wales. Lovely fire roaring behind us, which was very welcome in the negative figure temperatures we have been experiencing. The lady behind the bar who must have been the landlady was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Food was quickly delivered and delicious... 2 fox burgers, 1 steak and a broccoli bake . The chips were fab and prices reflective of good honest pub lunch. A lovely glass of shiraz too . The ginger sundae was delicious. Will definitely call in again on uni drop off und pick up days. Thank you x

Used the pub as a stop over in our moho. Unfortunately we were late getting there but having spoke to a lovely, very helpful lady on the phone, we explained that we were going to get there at kitchen closing time so we asked if we could order our food over the phone to ensure we were able to eat when we finally got there. This was no trouble at all. Intact, nothing was trouble for them. They make lovely food and made us feel most welcome. Thank you to all at The Fox. We will undoubted see you again.

Travelling back home to Staffs we had a recommendation to try this pub as the car park could accommodate our motorhome It was 5 mins off M5 and half way home. We hadn’t booked but they managed to squeeze us in even though it Sunday Lunchtime and they were very busy. Food was scrumptious and fairly priced. Can’t thank the staff enough for their help and would highly recommend this place. One word of advise though try to book so you won’t be disappointed

We went as a family for my birthday, and received a lovely welcome from Lu the Landlady. She really has a way of connecting with customers and establishing a local friendly atmosphere. We ate.. A Mediterranean vegetarian tart with salsa salad and new potatoes Brocoli and cauliflower cheese bake. Fish and chips. And a deluxe burger. For dessert two lemon meringue sundaes and syrup sponge with custard. There were also chips... big double cooked chips. Everyone loved their meals. My family are locals and working their way through the menu. Thank Lu and Mr Lu...sorry I forget his name the chef...we will return! TERESA MOORE and Johnny. ( I was the Mediterranean tart!) 10/10

Great little pub! The manager was so friendly and accommodating when I said we were arriving late and ensured the kitchen stayed open. The food is really good too, hearty and fresh. Thank you!

Excellent Sunday roast and very friendly staff!

Good food, quick service. Nice beer garden. Carpark is visible from the benches. Awesome if you are traveling with stuff on your roof rack. A short detour off the motorway. Try a fox burger.

We chose The Fox as it was a convenient mid point between Cheshire and Cornwall and was just off the motorway. Having read the good reviews we were not disappointed. The menu had a variety of choices at reasonable prices. Everything was fresh,hot and good portion sizes. Staff were friendly and service was efficient. We'll definitely return again one day. Thank you, keep on doing what you are doing. 😊

OK bit disappointed in that our books and Internet information says they allowed dogs in the bar which isn't the case was told as we walk in we would have to sit in the garden .. no probs it was a nice day food was decent but never got asked at any point if everything was OK beer choice real ale wise was very poor .. OK wouldnt revisit

Called in on our way home from Cribbs Causeway. I had chilli half and half and my wife had gammon, egg and pineapple. Both meals were excellent, well cooked, hot and reasonably priced. It was accompanied by a couple of pints of superb cask beer. All in all, a great lunch stop.

Visited when we stayed at the Wave (which is a 10 min walk away over the fields). Really nice family-run pub with great fish and chips and good range of beer

Haven't visited the Fox for many years but decided we'd give it a go. Very glad we did ! Welcoming pub and very clean inside. Plenty to choose from on the menu & the three of throughly enjoyed our lunch and will definitely be back. Not over priced or pretentious good food cooked/served well. Many thanks for a lovely lunch.

Good beer but not a big range, the batons makes a great small snack between two. Staff are some of the most friendly and helpful I have encountered. Although a local's pub visitors are very welcomed. Very pretty setting in a scenic area. Worth a walk around the area. We will definitely be back. Just don't depend on the bus service.

I wasn't impressed by the fish and chips. The fish was fine, the chips were all over fried and the garden peas cheap and tasteless

Do NOT go! The food is awful, poor quality and not good value for money! It was not even cooked well - just hugely disappointing!

Avoid the fox at Easter Compton Ignorant bar staff / land lady , asked for a beer , told I couldn’t have one as it was quiz night and I hadn’t booked but could sit outside if I wanted …. Won’t be going there again and certainly wouldn’t recommend the place , obviously have too much trade or are very judgmental!!

Pretty decent pub smaller inside than it looks. Had a buffet which was fine, bitter was OK, but no choice. Only 1 bitter us not good for a pub, would expect at least a couple.

I stopped at the Fox because they allow overnight parking of motorhomes, if you use their pub/dining facilities. I had a quiet night, a couple of beers and three courses of food. All pretty good, although the crumble could have been better.

My wife and I eat supper at The Fox on Wednesdays whenever we can. It breaks the week up, we get to meet friends, it's a night off cooking and we enjoy supporting our village pub whose owners were the glue that held our community together during the various lockdowns. Last night I had the fish and chips, which was good: crispy batter, good size piece of cod and nicely cooked chips. I always fall to temptation with the ginger sundae pudding and it was a good as ever. I believe the menu is changing again soon (refreshed regularly) and we look forward to trying it out soon. We feel blessed to have a village local, with good beers & wines, great food and wonderful staff and encourage you to try it if you're passing by.

Horrid, had roast dinner but all my veg was swimming in water, not drained properly. Certainly won't be going back there yuck!!!

This pub is lovely, I used to come here years ago and back then it was slightly grotty but now it's been made into a really nice village pub. The food is very nice too and the staff are so friendly and welcoming.

This is first visit to the Fox since lockdown started in 2020. Since last visit decoration has taken place to improve the surroundings. Food was enjoyable and well cooked and presented. Staff pleasant and polite, enjoying a joke. I will be returning and meeting up with retired work friend for lunch again. Highly recommend for lunch. Restricted menu but idea for a location such as this to be served good food. Some places try to over cater to the detriment of the quality of food.

Great service. Lovely traditional home cooked food. Staff went out of their way to help us, even though we were late for our table due to being unable to source a taxi.

Went for Sunday roast.Due to our reservation being at 14.00 there was only beef left aside from a few other items on the menu.Choice was limited. However, the service was good. Lady behind bar ws pleasant as was the young man serving the food. Food arrived quickly and was nice ( would've been better if potatoes were home made ) All in all we had a good time, the food was good 👍 and the pub itself has a good ambience. We will return.

Excellent, friendly service in a very COVID safe environment. The whole team have gone the extra mile to make sure everyone is safe. Food was excellent, and delivered very quickly, best of all the food was extremely reasonably priced. Dining area was spotlessly clean and couldn’t be faulted.

I contacted The Fox to arrange lunch for our walking group after we had walked up Spanorium Hill. This family run pub was most welcoming and helpful . It has a very pleasant beer garden, although the interior looked very clean , comfortable and spacious had we eaten in there. Our tasty food arrived quickly with good service . We ordered a range of meals at a reasonable price and everyone was well satisfied. Many thanks , much appreciated.

The Fox is our Royal Enfield Owners Club meeting site the pub goes out of its way for us, best venue we could hope for

We called here on 11/9/20 there were 6 of us. We had 2 tables outside. They had really excellent covid measures in place. An in entrance into the pub and separate exit. They came and took our drinks order and staff wore face shields. Plenty of hand sanitisation available. They took our food order at the table and when the food arrived it was lovely. Good quality hot and tasty. We had a little flag which we could raise if we wanted anything else. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Whether you just want a drink or food this is definitely worth a visit. We felt really safe.
