This is a lovely pub, we really enjoyed the food and the service was fabulous!

Absolutely fantastic to have such a welcoming place to visit in walking distance from our house, we used to travel to the center of Bristol in search of a good place to eat and chill but nothing comes close to the welcoming atmosphere and high standard of food at the Queens Head Please give it a try you won't be disappointed!

Great pub with really staff, they really accommodated us well for my uncles birthday and the food the they prepared for the party was better than expected for a pub 👏👏

We loved it when we first moved to Hanham two years ago. They had a lush roast. Since then the menu has changed at least 5 times. It changes every time the chef leaves… so you NEVER know what are you going to get. Really sad as we used to come with our family and friends for eat carbury.

Sunny sunday so thought we'd give it a try. Walked into empty pub to no welcome bar staff just carried on chatting to only person sat at bar called another member to serve 🤷‍♀️. Went into garden 😱 grass not cut, weeds, broken steps & lights. One drink and left sorry won't be back any time soon.

Had the most amazing Sunday lunch yesterday - cleared my plate, great fresh ingredients, slow cooked Belly of Pork, the meat was cooked to perfection, yorkies were impressive and the veg didn't disappoint - compliments to the chef 👍👍👍 Good value for money.

Best roast by far will definitely come back again good value for money and very friendly staff

Was treated by my sons to Mother’s Day lunch. There were 5 adults and 4 children. We had preordered our main course and this was brought out quickly, was hot, and plentiful. In fact I could have probably done with the children's meal which was also a good size. I had the roast beef which was cooked well, even though I would normally have this rare, it was tender and tasty. There was a good selection of vegetables; red cabbage, carrots, roast potatoes, cabbage and more and plenty of gravy and large Yorkshire pudding. The service was friendly and efficient. Very pleased

The Sunday roast was the worst i have ever had went for my birthday weekend it cost a lot of money i have nothing nice to say about the food

Xmas Dinner No pigs in blankets no stuffing absolutely freezing ate my meal with my coat on sorry Will but it was very poor hope you make it better next year but we won't be there

My daughter and I went here for Sunday roast lunch. The blackboard said beef, chicken, pork, turkey and veggie option but there was no pork being served. We ordered a large roast beef each, got our drinks and sat down. When the food arrived, it was hardly large. Some medium rare beef, two pieces of roast potatoes each, two slices carrot, two slices of parsnip, a few indiscernible scraps of green veggies. A well-cooked Yorkshire pudding devoid of gravy and that was that. The beef was tough and stringy, and we both gave up cutting through the sinew. The gravy was gelatinous to a point and hallway through the food it got quite cold. All in all not worth the £13 plus each that we paid and we were both very disappointed in the size of the plates being offered as well as the small servings and the quality. I cannot see how people give this place a good rating it’s beyond me. Definitely will not be going back as there are better places that offer a superior and vfm meal, the Spotted Cow and the Clifton Hotel to name but two.

We went for a Sunday lunch at short notice . No faults ,Staff pleasant and accommodating, Food was well worth the money , with a cosy feel a nice pub .

Good local pub. Went for lunch with my wife. Super friendly service. My burger was huge and very tasty. Wife's gammon and chips also excellent. Guest seasonal ale was also good.

Enjoyed Sunday Lunch here, staff very welcoming, lovely food, can recommend the roast pork and roast beef. Excellent sized portions, nice to have cauliflower cheese as standard and not an extra.

Will and his team went over and above and exceeded our expectations. They really looked after us and nothing was too much trouble. The food prepared for our guests was fantastic. Thank you very much will.

Enjoy coming here for events or gatherings on occassion. Drinks seem slightly higher than other places which is a shame. Majority of times welcoming and friendly staff. Entertainment has been good the few times I have been. Worth a visit.

Came here for a roast today for my mums birthday. Roast was lovely loads of meat on the large, drinks were reasonably priced. Desserts were a bit over priced, but staff were amazing. Overall a really nice experience and would come back again.

We were shown to a lovely conservatory in the back of a quaint pub for a 30th 1920s /1930's birthday party. Yes it was the Queens Head pub in Hanham Bristol. We had a heavenly cocktails and then food, which was beautifully cooked. All credit to our hosts but the landlord made our evening relaxing and stress free.

Nice pub with a friendly landlord. Didn't eat but the menu was good and very reasonable prices. I will re visit to eat.

Invited for a family & friends celebration. Had been here a couple of years ago for a similar event when the service & buffet was top notch. Things have certainly gone downhill since - drinks & cocktails that were advertised were not available. The staff had no idea what food was expected & rustled up a mediocre buffet in an hour for which they charged top price. Very poor for a function that was booked months ago. This place won’t last if they carry on this way. I won’t be back & I won’t recommend it

My sister in law held my baby shower here today. It was lovely, we had the whole conservatory and everyone found it easy to get drinks. We had a graze board made here and it was absolutely amazing (cheese meats and breads and different fruits). Everything was affordable and they decorated the room with the linen and white chair bows. Thank you for making the day run smoothly and making it a lovely memory 😊

Took my mother here for mother's day, her response was "worse mothers meal I have ever had". Starters were bland, main meal was cold and all deserts were straight out of Icelands frozen section, the chef even admitted it was a boxed frozen desert. Apparently cheesecake in Italy is sponge with cream... Having worked for an Italian company for over 10 years and travelled Italy, a true Italian would be offended by that meal. There was no table service, sat there for 25 minutes and nobody offered to take a drinks request. I would avoid at all costs, better off getting a frozen meal from Iceland, at least you can make sure its hot!

Well, since My last visit eight months ago what an improvement! The Landlord, Will and his humorous chef Freddie made Us feel so welcome, didn't get to meet the Landlady but even though there was a problem with the gas supply we were served delicious food. Lovely new decor and a (hopeful) return to the standards of the Pub before it resembled the bar from the original Star Wars! Please support this local Gem, Andy.

First visit and we were made very welcome. The chef is from Sardinia and brings authentic cuisine to your plate. Very sunny garden and conservatory with a delightfully chilled bar for the super hot days.

I wish I could have this pub in St Paul's it's a lovely place to have a drink, socialise or eat, especially the chocolate brownie. And it feels friendly and community minded.

We went to the Queens Head in Hanham for their Sunday roast and we are so impressed by the size of the servings and how tasty all the food was. It’s definitely been one of the best roast lunches we’ve had in the UK

Well what a wonderful welcome to what's now our new local. Lovely landlord and lady, Will and Hayley, infact the whole team are lovely, food is great , have ate there a few times now, booking is recommended as it's very popular especially on a Sunday. The carvery just keeps coming. I love the atmosphere here, plus there's always something going on during the week.. well done Will and Hayley on making this such a great pub.

Very,Very Expensive Pub and nothing special about it. Expect to pay central Bristol Prices, in the Suburbs. The Wetherspoons is a 5 minute walk away. Go there for 2 Pints for the price of 1 in the Queens Head. ...... Shall not be visiting again.

The atmosphere and staff were really nice! It was quiet and lots of choice on the menu, food was nice and good prices! Would definitely visit again

Hit and miss. Went for carvery, which was nothing more than okay - meat a bit dry and had ran out of cauliflower cheese (it was only 2pm). But I have had a better meal there before and friends who say they've had great meals. So I think 'hit and miss' sums it up.

Attended a wake, and supplied entertainment with my band. Felt very welcomed, from the moment I stepped in the door. Landlord was really helpful.

Had a carvery on Sunday, very poor, the turkey was just small tiny bits left from a whole turkey , how they had the cheek to offer to my elderly mum and myself, and only allowed two roast potatoes, also the only veg was carrots and green beans, it was a waste of money for what was there at 2:30pm , just left overs.

Had a excellent Sunday lunch today. There was a choice of 4 meats- all delicious and a superb variety of veg with tasty gravy. My daughter also loved it and there was a great family atmosphere. We will be back and would highly recommend 10/10

Booked on the Saturday a table for Sunday lunch. Arrived to find no record of booking ..but we were found a table. The 6X beer was off ..par for the course! (I used to come often). My wife's wine glass was dirty + lipstick ..got it changed! Only two "carvery" sizes ..small and large. We chose one of each and went to the serving area to collect our meal. We expected to see the meat carved ..instead it had been sliced in the kitchen and presented in trays ..either drying out or displaying it's fatty nature! My wife's small plate looked like it was going to be a child's meal with its one slice of meat ..my 'large' plate was given its two pieces of meat. The roast potatoes had gone mushy ..I had to ask the server for one that was still in one piece! Then there was the vegetables ..shredded cabbage, beetroot?, strips of parsnip and carrots ..that had ran out. The gravy had the genuine fatty globules. Good yorkshires and ok stuffing balls. When I went to pay I was simply given a total cost ..I had to ask for an itemised bill. Oh ..and the music was too loud. The positive? ..the staff were nice. We're local and had heard that they were doing food again and thought to give them a try ..big mistake!

Worst meal ever. They did replace the roast potatoes but the replacement was as bad as the original. I needed to talk my medication so ate some of the meat which was fatty and very chewy. Won't be going back there again.

I have to say it was the worse roast dinner I have ever had. The roast potatoes where over done and rock hard. They replaced them with lighter looking potatoes which were just as bad. The meat was fatty and chewy. It was inedible.

Had my dads 70th birthday celebration here, really great buffet so much so people went up for 3rds! We were looked after by the staff, perfect evening. Can see the new owner has really made an effort to overturn the previous image. If you have a party and looking for a venue I would recommend!

This pub has really improved with the new management. The pub has always had so much potential but over the last few years the management have been a let down. I am impressed with the new management team and the pub has a much better atmosphere

Had a table booked for this evening and when we got there they said there was no food tonight as the chef had gone sick. I understand these things happen but why didn’t the staff ring and let us know before we ventured out. How much nicer it would have been to be told beforehand, it makes you not want ever to go back there again. A little courtesy goes a long way

Was looking forward to visiting as had heard it had reopened - looked online and it showed an extensive menu, so my wife booked a table for the two of us. Initial impression was that it looked a little ‘fresher’ and the bar staff were very friendly. Was given a menu which was a single page (picture posted), significantly less that online - no Vegan/Vegetarian (not a problem for us) ; no starters or deserts! Asked bar staff who said “that is it”, she didn’t know why they show more online? Ordered the steak and my wife ordered the Chicken burger. Mine was relatively tasty but anaemic looking, very average. My wife’s was a little hard and overcooked. Ate up and left within 30 minutes of arriving! If you’re looking for an evening out I’d look elsewhere, but just for a drink would probably be ok.

This pub used to do a brilliant roast so was looking forward to going back for the first time since it reopened. Sadly it was not good beef was extremely chewy and vegetables were hard. Staff were lovely but food was not wont be returning.

Not impressed we have come back to the pub after lockdown, veg was hard, beef was hard potato’s wasn’t nice and the sticky toffee pudding wasn’t nice either. Bar staff were nice but doesn’t make up for the bad food (time for a new chef )

Had a wonderful weekend. Wil the landlord and his incredible team made everyone feel at home. The burgers are to die for and I fell in love with the cocktails in a tree.

Excellent service and food. The staff were lovely and so helpful, ordered a Buffett for my dads 80th and obviously had to have tables of six so they plated a brilliant Buffett for each table, service spot on. Couldn’t ask for more thank you.

no complaints re pub, food or ambience as it was family get together for a birthday, we all had a very good time,but my heart goes out to the poor young lad obviously new to his role not receiving any help or support during what must have been an ordeal for him, not good for any ones confidence

Fabulous food, lots of choice for vegetarians, good portions, good value for money. Felt safe with the health restrictions in place. We will be going back, shortly!

Very disappointed yet again. Thought we had a local pub at last. Food was mediocre. Most of it had to go back because it was cold! Bar staff were excellent but doesn't make up for the fact that chef was no good. They sat us near the toilets to begin with but smell unbearable. They did move us but not a good night!! Will move our monthly get together to somewhere more agreeable.

Well that was GOOD, not long home from a fabulous carvery, it was a family birthday lunch and it did not let us down, a standard carvery was pretty big I have to say, does anyone ever eat a large one, children were also well catered for, cannot wait to return, fab relaxed atmosphere waiting staff were very good.

Great local finally, new landlord was lovely, dogs welcome and hopefully live music some evenings. Lovely atmosphere. The menu has a lot of choice and will be trying it Friday.

Hallelujah, we've lived here 5 years and finally the pub is a community hub. Will and Haley have brought the community together with great food, drink and music. Whether you are walking your dog and fancy a drink or your hungry and you don't fancy cooking this place has it all. Don't look at what this place was, look at what it is now and it's excellent. Come down, enjoy a drink with like minded company and you will not be disappointed.

Very quiet when we went on a Friday night! Didn't gave some of the draught beers we wanted (ran out) so choice of drink was limited. Only stayed for one, shame as the decor was nice

A party of us booked here for a family birthday lunch. This is the first time that many of us have eaten here and it will cettainly not be the last. What a fab Sunday Lunch. We liked the idea of chosing the size of plate you wanted (small, medium and large, and priced accordingly). The choice of meats and huge choice of vegetables was just fantastic. It was an exceptionally busy lunch service the day we ate there but the staff, although extemely busy, were positive and cheerful. The prices were very good too. We will be back.
