Elsie mays catered for my step dad’s birthday party and did a fantastic job. The food was delicious, we had lots of compliments! Mandy was brilliant from start to finish. We had a few vegans and coeliacs which were never a problem and were catered for brilliantly. We will definitely be using Elsie mays for any future events. Thank you.

Excellent as always, cannot recommend highly enough!

This was our first visit & certianly wont be our last. When we have previously passed this place it always seemd to be full so we went elsewhere. We have now discovered that there is additional seating on the first floor - perhaps they should put a notice in the window Any way I had croque monsieur which was excellent, my wife had the home made soup with a montrously large portion of pate and toast - again excllent well done - see you again soon

Lovely peaceful spot, canal barge tea rooms friendly lad served us in period canal costume. In fact all the staff were dressed in person canal costume which added to the wonderful atmosphere.

Good coffee/teacake reasonable prices.friendly owners doing it all. Go there!! Support local owner traders. Clean cafe just off main high street,close to river and bridge. .

Nice enough pub. The landlord is a bit grumpy. Cosy atmosphere with the log burner. They have different mobile take away's that park outside where you can buy your food and eat in the pub too.

Great size portions , and good value too

Went for a meal with my husband and his sister. Two of us ordered the gourmet sirloin steak. My sister in laws was a lot thicker than mine. Hers was ' chewy ' but I couldn't even cut mine with a serrated edge knife. It was inedible. I sent it back and reordered a lasagne with chips. Although it was OK the other two had eaten their meal so I had to eat mine alone. The staff refunded the difference although I feel in the circumstances it should have been free. I don't think I'd go again.

The toasted sandwich was not toasted just soggy and the fat was coming out of the cheese. The coffee weak. Service slow person taking order then makes up order . apparently one has to wait at the counter for ones heated food but was not told until it was brought to our table and told we should have waited. With hindsight the cafe was less than half full on a Saturday morning which I should have read as a sign of bad food and service
