The best restaurants in Poundstock Cornwall, Isles of Scilly South West

A peaceful site with a fantastic cafe and farm shop, we had a wonderful breakfast that set us up for the day. The campsite was in a good location with a bus stop on the doorstep. The only thing missing is a dog walk on site as there are no dog walks close by.

Always consistent great service and value for money

Over the years been here quite a few times on our fourth visit this year, vowed it would be the last, staff ok but owner not so welcoming ! Booked a table for earlyish dinner for two, second time been shown to the worst table in the restaurant, right at the back in the corner next to a large noisy party. I refused and was happy to walk out, but reluctantly we were offered a table with a view of the beach etc told you can have it for an hour and fifteen minutes! Now the food is extremely good as with service like this I wouldn’t bother the cuisine is the only saving grace. Scruffy looking both internally and externally needs a major make over. Vowed that’s the last time I’m going there, other restaurants do it better, but the location is great and so is the food, but it lacks in so many other areas it’s got to be 3/10 score

Friendly pleasent staff and a breakfast that almost beat me! Nice and relaxed and next to the beach.

We came for the excellent set lunch at £12.50 pp (Lots of other customers as well!) Very good choice of Menu and good quality. Excellent service and nice atmosphere.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here. Dog friendly and caters well for vegetarians. Staff really friendly and made such a fuss of our dog. Food is excellent and beautifully cooked

Living locally have visited a few times to grab a drink and it’s just an average pub in a fantastic location, no complaints! But when you introduce food to the equation it goes rapidly down hill, with two previous below average experiences, we gave it one last shot on the food front, blah it was well below par, so just as a heads up, don’t order the prawn sandwich, and don’t order the steak, it’s clear their kitchen staff are incompetent, this was confirmed but the guy (boss) who took my order when I asked could I replace the salad on my steak order with an egg instead he was beyond blunt, if we hadn’t been with friends and made all the effort I’d have told him where to stick his food….i think the kitchen is a big problem for this pub. Just don’t eat there

Been here before. It’s a lovely spot and a nicely decorated cafe however today it was let down by a bad attitude from one of the women in particular. I had my dog with me and was stood at the door for some time trying to get the attention of the staff whilst I who were busy chatting to each other behind the counter to ask if I could bring my dog in. After a while I went in to ask. I was met with “well he’s in now isn’t he so I suppose it’s fine……what a stupid question to ask “For a moment I thought about just walking out but laughed it off- wasn’t sure if it was a poor attempt at being funny or just plain rude. I have since learned that it is advertised as dog friendly. I ordered some food which was good and came quickly but while I was eating it I could hear the same staff member loudly swearing (f that) as she described something that had annoyed her last week to her mate at work. The kitchen is basically right in the cafe so we could all hear it. I ordered another coffee but this never came. Couldn’t be bothered to chase it so I left after waiting 25 minutes for it. Like I say it’s a nice spot but is being let down by the staff.

We often have coffee and a pasty here on market days meet friends and neighbours. Good range of food available

Proper yummy pizza! The chef was a nice fella to. Will defo be back soon. The stuffed crust was delicious!! all made with local products.. yum yum

We used the nearby car park but putting coins in the machine (some were being rejected) while suffering pelting rain was most unpleasant and it was equally irritating that the machine did not give change. We would have been happy to return to the cafe during our stay in the area but the opportunity never arose. The beach itself was rocky and uninspiring (perhaps the weather put us off too).
