We tend to not eat in hotel restaurants but having eaten in the sister hotel The Alverton, which was excellent and also seen an article in Drift Magazine from the chef we thought we would give it a go. it was very ok. £6 for two slices of bread, Starter of scallops did not mention the belly pork was battered, not sure why. Mains of cod and curry sauce £32 felt like veg was dropped into curry sauce at end and not really infused. Fillet Steak £34 was very small and asked for medium rare was more medium. White wine list by the glass was limited with only one French option. When we were due to leave I approached a lady staff member in brown uniform to ask about them calling us a taxi, 'we can give you some numbers to call yourself she said' !! Only saving grace was they did not add service charge, we would have had it removed and as a local then we will not return.

My current favourite place to stay in Falmouth! Solo trip in penthouse and then Fos’cle with hubby. The same great view. Lovely rooms with great location. The best nights sleep I had in a long time. Straight out onto the high street with a quiet setting. Beautiful 🥰

Dinner for 2 on Wednesday night was perfect. Friendly, helpful service. Fish pie was really filling and tasty. Great selection of beer and wines. Not to forget the fabulous view. Highly recommended for a night out in a welcoming and comfortable space for dinner for 2, or with friends.

Just had a shared fish and chips from S&V which we ate in McCouls the pub on the corner with a pint of Guinness for me and a mulled cider for my wife. Fresh cooked home made chips and fresh fried fish. Delicious highly recommended. Definitely with a Guinness. 👍😊 Back again 2 years later. As tasty if not more so than the last time. The fish batter is tempura style so does not rest heavy on the stomach. Give it a go. We brought our own plates and cutlery.

Popped in here after a night out for a calzone and a mixed kebab. Got home to find that the calzone (supposed to be a folder pizza) was not a calzone at all, but half a pizza with extra toppings and about a centimetre of cheese on top. Sounds great, I hear you say! But consider this- the sheer amount of grease actually managed to soak through the cardboard box and make the table underneath greasy! And if you couple this with the fact that it had absolutely no flavour as well, the calzone was a pretty crap experience overall. As for the mixed kebab - totally flavourless and greasy as well, and the pitta wasn’t even toasted, and ended up as a greasy slab of dough. Grim. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone - 1/5 is too much.
