We tend to not eat in hotel restaurants but having eaten in the sister hotel The Alverton, which was excellent and also seen an article in Drift Magazine from the chef we thought we would give it a go. it was very ok. £6 for two slices of bread, Starter of scallops did not mention the belly pork was battered, not sure why. Mains of cod and curry sauce £32 felt like veg was dropped into curry sauce at end and not really infused. Fillet Steak £34 was very small and asked for medium rare was more medium. White wine list by the glass was limited with only one French option. When we were due to leave I approached a lady staff member in brown uniform to ask about them calling us a taxi, 'we can give you some numbers to call yourself she said' !! Only saving grace was they did not add service charge, we would have had it removed and as a local then we will not return.

Fantastic food, amazing service and a wonderful view whilst tucking in to a three course meal. We will definitely be coming back when we visit Falmouth again.

A fabulous evening to celebrate a milestone family birthday. We were looked after so well, food and service superb and the 'birthday boy' made to feel suitably special. Thank you, we will be back.

We experienced Bobbys Taste of Cornwall Menu on Thursday 25th January. WOW!! Bobby definitely pulled out all of the stops. Personally, I’m a vegetarian which is probably quite unusual to attend a six course tasting menu but Bobby certainly catered for my dietary tastes. Whilst my husband was delighting in the exceptional venison, I had a veggie twist to Tatties and Neeps… it was Burns night after all!! The private dining area was perfect, whilst we were able to chat about the food we didn’t feel we were disturbing other diners but we still felt part of the beautiful restaurant and we’re able to enjoy the exceptional views of Falmouth Harbour. As a local, The Greenbank is one of our favourite spots for a casual glass of wine in their very relaxing bar and lounge area but this was such a treat. I would recommend this to locals and visitors alike. Bobby is the Head Chef at The Waters Edge, he was a complete delight from start to finish and one incredible chef. Greenbank we had a wonderful evening, thank you!! X

Went for Sunday lunch (7/1/24) with our daughter as previously had only had a good experience especially the view of the Fal from the dining area. The starter was ok but thereafter the meal went downhill. My wife had the roast beef, which she described as a sheet of leather, I had the chicken which was acceptable and my daughter had the Risotto which she again described as ok. But the main gripe was the standard of vegetables. How can you get brussell sprouts so wrong, as for the roast potatoes they looked (and tasted like) reheated new potatoes, as for the cauliflower cheese..... All in all it appeared as though the vegetables were prepared by an apprentice on an off day! It was sad because as usual the staff were excellent and the ambience provided was as it should be. But as said above the big let down was the standard of the meal. I think it will be a long time before we return.

I booked this restaurant for my husband's birthday and it didn't disappoint. From start to finish the service was impeccable and the food outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble. The views were pretty special too. Highly recommended!

Had a lovely afternoon tea with friends. Super well presented afternoon tea, sandwiches were fresh, and cakes were plentiful. Scones with Tiptree jam and clotted cream. Great service too with a fantastic view.

We had wanted to try the GBH for a long time. And, with it being our First Wedding anniversary, we thought what better way to celebrate. We arrived 5-10 minutes early for our table which was no issue. We were just told we could sit at the bar for a drink and they'll tell us when our table is ready. Our 2 drinks took 20 minutes to come and we had to remind them that we were waiting to be seated at our table. We were seated right at the end of the restaurant by the kitchen which lead to us feeling a forgotten at times when it came to ordering and getting a waitresses attention. All in all, drinks were okay. Smoked almonds were good. But, I ordered the salt baked squash for my main which ironically NEEDED salt... baring in mind this dish is £20. Sadly, will not be returning anytime soon.

Came across this by mistake, we were staying very close in a holiday let , we were looking for the pub below , but decided to stay in the waters edge, as it has good relaxed feel about it. Staff were friendly, polite , attentive and we had a very comfortable table overlooking the estuary towards Flushing. Menu is varied with some interesting choices. Starters , we choose, scallops with chorizo, and asparagus poached egg with a Parmesan crisp , well presented , not large portions , flavours were excellent. Mains I had the spring lamb with new peas and broad beans , the lamb was cooked to perfection, not too rare and not over cooked , lamb can easily be disappointing, not this dish . My wife had the lemon sole with buttered new potatoes and tender stem broccoli , again very well done. Didn’t have a dessert, small three cheese board instead with local cheeses. There is a good drinks menu and extensive wine list , we did like the carafe option which you don’t see very much any more. To finish we had an Expresso Martini and watched the fire works over the bay as it was Armed Forces Day a stunning surprise. I can recommend if you want great views and a very tasty menu with not over bearing portions, if quantity is what your looking for this is not for you. We would return for sure.

By the standards of American fine dining, the food here is silly and pretentious. Overpriced and under sized in portions, underwhelming in flavors. The service is spotty and clumsy. Only advantage is the waterside location. I can’t believe it is “prize winning.” Don’t bother.

Everything is OK, but just OK, the cooking let's down the setting and the service. So many better options in Falmouth, especially at the price.

The food and setting are both superb. The restaurant overlooks Falmouth harbour, and is quite magical. The food is up there with some of the best I have eaten - which explains its two rosettes. And it has a good wine list to boot. Cheap it is not, but neither is it over the top expensive. Excellent value for money in my book.

I have lived near Perranporth (GOONHAVERN) all my life and I adore the wateringhole but £7.50 for a pint of rattler is ATROCIOUS, considering Healey's is legitimately less than 3 miles away. Gylly beach cafe charges £5 for a pint of Rattler and they're nearly 10 miles away, It's sad. Get on Pard card cause you're killing the local business off, it's a shame because I've got very vivid memories of getting hot chocolate for cheap and seeing plenty of people I knew but now it's different. I understand times change and people move and catering to different people but in this economy it'd be nice if you looked after us locals a bit more.

Very disappointed with our meal this time, we returned after a beautiful meal last year. The presentation of the starter and trying to eat it from a bowl wasnt an appealing way to start the meal and proved difficult when using cutlery. There was no exciting flavours. Main course was also bland and presentation also not as extravagant as our previous visit. Such a shame. Especially when you pay for a quality meal. Wont be returning.
