Lovey atmosphere. Huge dog lover here so we were in heaven surprised by so many beautiful pooches. The staff were friendly and make a fab cuppa!

This place used to be great but oh how it's gone downhill it's absolutely filthy food horrid just disgusting staff terrible never again

Good bar in a great spot but, when we visited in August there was so much rubbish on the floor & the tables. Very disappointing. I’m surprised the bar is able to operate like this given its location on a beautiful beach.

This place has seriously gone down hill ,the bar staff can't smile or greet you with a friendly voice, the toilets are swimming in urine ,no paper towels and 1 hand drier working ,stinking wet dogs wandering around, vastly overpriced for what it is ,they need to up the game

Spent two days at the beach and eat here twice. We waited until twelve when pizzas were meant to be being cooked but told they were an hour behind despite most out the back looking like they were sat around. We ended up ordering off the menu. Both times the food was acceptable being from a beach cafe. All front of house staff looked well trained and good at their job. It may be worth paying them all for an extra couple of hours to clean their stations before service. Everything is covered in dirt and grime. It’s in a heavy traffic area with dusty sand flying about but I’m talking food hygiene issues. All around the coffee and cake area was disgustingly dirty in and around display cabinetry and coffee machine itself. We were there for opening time and it was dirty then. Coffee is nice though. Hopefully on our next holiday a bit of money has been put back in.

The food is the worst I've seen and eaten, and what they charge you think you're going to have some sort of food experience it was sort NEVER AGAIN.

Great place to eat and drink. They have a great menu and a proper chef 👌 check out the lunchtime meal we had

Busy beachfront bar and eatery. We went to meet up with friends for drinks on a Sunday pm. Got hungry and ordered a burger and chips. Good food. Good drink. Good service. Only game changer would be more seating outside.

Been coming here for 20 years, arrived early to secure a decent spot for the football final only to have the bench removed without any prior notice and lose our spot. Clearly money has more importance than loyalty. Will never visit again, rude and unacceptable.

We went to the Watering hole to see the England final. We arrived 8 hrs early to get a good seat. At 5pm we were advised that are bench was going to be taken away. I found this to be very poor planning. All the tables were full up with people. We were all very annoyed that we had to move and sit on the floor. I have a disability and I struggle to move about. Very poor organising for a live event. The tables should have been moved in the morning or notices should have been put on the tables so that the public were aware.

Absolutely disgusted with how i was just treated by staff. Had a long day at work and just wanted a cheeky bev only to be greeted with the most foul, stuck-up, arrogant bartender. He asked for identification and i obliged politely, just for him to take one look at it and come to the outrageous conclusion that is was fake! CAN ASSURE YOU ITS REAL!! He said the hologram wasn’t right but he did not ask for a second opinion, and proceeded to laugh at me and hand me back my id. I thought he was having me on, absolutely ridiculous i know! I’m pretty sure he realised it was real after a closer look but didn’t want to make himself look like a right tool infront of a full bar as he softened his tone and scurried away like a child. Then let me look like a wally! What an arrogant man. Not a happy customer. Really disappointed. Had to resort to coop £6 wine.

We visited the Watering Hole mid afternoon on the last day of our holiday. We had fish and chips with the homemade tartar sauce. The food was amazing, generous portions and really tasty. The staff were lovely and friendly and the service was good. I had a pint of Korev and my husband had a pint of Razzler which were both good. We thought it was good value for money and would recommend. The views are amazing and it’s nice to be sat right on the beach.

Good atmosphere they show sports on on 4 screens. However be warned for the big events the place is very busy so get there early. The tables and chairs could do with a refurbished or replacement rather wobbly tables and I found a few broken chairs. The staff were exceptions fast service even though it was busy they served quickly. The food was great.

We went for the view and in hopes of good food, the service was slow and poor, the food was awful and bland, I would never return. Put off for life.

Fast and friendly service despite being overcrowded. It's wonderful that you can sit outside in the sun and enjoy your beer with a view of the sea.

Went to tunes in the dunes to watch the 90s bands (5ive, atomic kitten and vegaboys). Absolutely shocked with how many people they were cramming into this place, packed like sardines. No set up for queues for the bars indoors and out so some people didnt know where it started or ended, at least 10 deep at bars, very slow. Drinks at outside bars with signs saying what they had but on eventually getting to the front to be told no we dont serve that here you have to go indoors, great i will just queue for another 30mins+. Toilets grim, inside and out. Staff didnt look like they wanted to be there (no surprised with the amount of people) Just did not seem very well organised at all, felt it could of been managed so much better as a great location. Enjoyed the music even though it rained but thats the whole experience lol, just a shame everything else let it down. Probably next time I would sit on the beach and listen to it

Although food was good, one of our party sat on a faulty chair which collapsed - they fell hard on the ground - equipment. Should be checked daily.

We took our little Dachsund here for lunch (all dogs welcome) and had the most delicious fish and chips followed by a gorgeous walk on Perranporth beach. It really is a lovely place to visit...salt and surf what more could you want?

There no better place in the whole of the country let alone Cornwall where you can chill with a cider and some quality food and watch the world go by. New toilets are a great and much needed addition. If you come to Cornwall and don't make this a place to visit then you've seriously missed out.

Came here on Sunday for some lunch and ordered the £11.50 6oz burger, was told this doesn't come with fries so I then ordered fries as well for £4.50. The burger was a joke for £11.50, McDonald's do better beef burgers than the basic burger I received. If the £11.50 included the fries it wouldn't have been so bad.

Had to put stars to do review I'm giving it no star's I've been here when it first opened and ever year since Missed out last year Went 30/5/24 it was very windy outside, so went inside busy the floor was full of sand, so you were slipping around I don't think any of the staff new what a brush was We ordered drinks, and the staff looked scruffy The food was not worth the money Then we could smell dried pee Work was been carried out. All you could hear was banging from work people What I real shame this it was a dump

Great pub in a great location on the beach.

Dissapointing menu this year...... just quick turnaround food ...chips nachos pizza. Have to order pizza separately to other food and its ready at different times so dont expect to all eat together. Shame as had great menu in the past.

If you’re looking for an amazing sunset location with drinks in a unique setting on the beach, this is it. Unfortunately it’s not well kept with broken tables etc nor is it very clean, and it’s overpriced in that respect. The bar staff seem to be hanging around with nothing to do when they could be wiping down tables and clearing the empties. Even the new toilets, opened less than a week ago, are not being kept well. They have a USP and the owners are relying on that rather than focussing on standards but for the amazing location and sunsets, will I come back? Yes, I will.

we were there when Tines on the Dunes weekend was happening, very busy but we managed to get a bench outside which happened to be perfect weather.. we didn't eat only had a drink

Glad to see they finally have updated the very old and dirty toilets. Unfortunately they aren’t being cleaned and looked after, mess everywhere and food by the sinks. Overpriced beer and food wasn’t great. It is the best place to be on a sunny day and especially for sunset in the UK. Relying on the uniqueness rather than quality and cleanliness. But this is what you get

Gorgeous location let down by the lack of attention ... tables where left full of empty glasses and seagulls attacking the left overs no one came out and collected the trays glasses or plates the whole time we was sat outside.. £11 for a burger .... and just a burger no chips or anything real shame really could be a fantastic place

An atmosphere and bar and restaurant service without competition. Numerous and attentive staff. Every time I go to Perranport I visit it for an hour: peace, tranquility and an incomparable view of the beach and sea. You will also be enthralled like me and with reasonable prices. Don't leave without visiting it and experiencing it.

Great place to people watch, the sun sets are amazing. All the staff were happy and helpful. What's not to like. Food is pretty standard pub grub but still good options. Hot chocolates also a good shout.

Great location for a pub but the price's are quite high. I'm not a fan of taking advantage of a 'captive client ' but when its very hot and you're very thirsty then you simply HAVE TO PAY THE PRICE!!

Food was not good at all buger taste like it was off a cheap buger van and rest of our food was bland very disappointed as thought having a pub on the beach food would be a good standard. Toilets had no access to water so unable to wash hands

Bought tickets for two events and both times been scammed and the advertised acts haven’t turned up and just played average chart tunes. I paid for mungos and crazy p and neither turned up and left early

Incredibly rude staff, who wouldn’t last five minutes in other establishments. All need customer service training, no hellos or smiles and miserable as sin! Food was good, just very over priced. One hotdog and two coffees £28! After seeing the reviews on trip advisor, thank god I didn’t need to use the toilets.

With a prime location directly on the actual beach, it becomes really busy. Inside they sell food, both hot and cold. There's a counter to the left selling hot drinks and cakes.( I can recommend the hot chocolate) In the middle you have the bar selling alcohol and cold drinks. Order at the bar or counter. You can eat outside on benches covered by umbrellas, or inside. Dogs are allowed as they're allowed on the beach. Dog water bowls are located about the tables. Star dropped as the toilets are a bit manky looking and dirty and my cake was dry, as if it had been sat there a few days !

This is a great pub is one of the best locations in the UK. Great selection of drinks and what could be better than sitting right on the beach ! Only wrinkle was the “comedicly” bad barman - think Fawlty Towers crossed with surly gap yah student !!

It's great to have choices of seating areas, outside tables, in a glazed covered area, inside the main building. Expect lots of sand 😊. Dog friendly in all areas. Two vegan main options. Both spicy. Fries fried suitable for vegans. One vegan cake option, although delicious.

Absolutely diabolical that this place is allowed to survive where it is. Perranporth is an SSI with many rare Bird nesting sights, seal and other important Mammal breeding areas close to it. Why are Cornwall council allowing an Ibiza styled night in March the breeding season. Why allow it at all. This is not how Cornwall should be portrayed. Move it to Newquay

Be warned - their Sunday roasts are massive! Delicious though, and able to do gluten free and vegans options. Lunch with a (great) view.

Used to be great but now I can only describe it as overpriced, dirty with poor toilets but with an excellent location. Need to get back to basics and spend some money on it and bring it back its former glory.

Expensive food,and gets very packed and busy. Lacks atmosphere,but fab location,right on the beach,so amazing views. Really helpful chef who makes vegan & gluten free food. He was able to tell me exactly what ingredients were in the Sunday roast,& there was a delightful vegan yummy option,to go with all the veg. Not really for locals anymore, sad for those who live & work here. However, I am lucky, with the beach in Autumn and winter! It's absolutely quiet & stunning.

Great view whilst having a drink. Sports are always on if you like that atmosphere. The menu seems to have been improved too.

Great location, great selection of cakes and beers. Slightly humourless staff that didn't seem interested but it is the off season. The food was AMAZING. I had the Loaded Steak Fries (£12) and worth every penny. Not your standard bar fare, genuinely good steak and great portions.

Great spot to watch the world go by

Went for a walk along the beach in pretty horrendous weather. It got worse, so we popped in for some hot drinks to warm up. They were very busy, but the service was still very efficient with friendly staff and the hot drinks were just what was needed (as usual). Thank you

Fantastic location, it doesn't get much better than a cafe actually on the beach with amazing views. We used this after a windswept walk along the beach. Inside or outside seats available, dogs welcome throughout. You have to queue to order which can be a while to wait if busy, then carry your own drinks back. This place is popular so you also need to ensure you have someone sat at a table to confirm you have one and getting one empty of the previous occupants debris can be a search but purely because of the popularity. Food is ordered then you have a battery alarm which sounds to tell you to go and collect it. I had the orange hot chocolate, amazing and nachos really nice.

Lovely bijou wine bar in Bude. Serving a variety of wines, beers, cocktails and gins. Lots of local produce and lovely meat or cheese platters to nibble on. Lovely service and also advice on wines if required

We stopped by here for a drink after a walk along the beach. The inside was pretty grubby, the tables all looked dirty and the floor was a mess. Service was to the point, no real greeting or smile as the staff were all busy talking amongst themselves. Drinks were ok, and we took them to sit outside on the benches so our dog could carry on playing with other doggies in the sand. The place is a great location and has so much more potential to have a great ambiance and atmosphere then what is was when we visited.

Wow!. My first time here and what an experience. Peranporth beach at low tide is a massive expanse of clean, flat golden sand and today (a Saturday in December) was a dog heaven. Relatively small pay and display car park in the centre of a bustling coastal town will fill very quickly at busy visitors times so be warned. Book early. The Watering Hole is set at the top of the beach, commanding a fabulous view of the flat surf set beach, raised up a little on a sand bank with numerous picnic bench seats outside was a really welcome place for a short respite. Inside is a cafe bar in every sense of the description. Sand scattered all.across the floor added to the superbly relaxed atmosphere. Many large screen TVs displaying premier League rugby when we visited provide a great distraction. A trendy bar was open as was the cafe, offering cake, coffee and other light bites as well as a variety of lunch options, including a charmingly misspelled 'mackrel' dish. Staff were smiling and willing and polite, all busy clearing, checking and making sure things ran smoothly. Dog friendly as long as on a lead. Coffee and mocha were nicely made and were hot. The brownie was fresh and just delightful for this chocoholic. Toilets are outside but we're easily accessible and clean. All in all a great visit. Well done to whoever owns / manages this place and to all who work there. I fully recommend this as a main reason to visit this beach again.

Incredible views and beautiful cake!

There is a lot of potential and with their plans and once the building work is complete I’d definitely look to return, however the service at our recent visit let it down. There wasn’t service with a smile and it wasn’t very inviting. The toilets aren’t the cleanest. The best part was sitting on the beach with a pint of rattler admiring the views as it’s absolutely stunning.
