Having been lucky enough to attend several of Louise’s supper club evenings it’s obvious that her skills as a chef and host go above and beyond. From the moment you arrive in her beautiful, welcoming house, the perfect tone is set for the evening and you know you’re in for a wonderful event. The table is set immaculately, with fresh flowers and tasteful crockery, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. The food is consistently, absolutely delicious. Each course thoughtfully prepared, using local suppliers, bursting with seasonal flavour, and beautifully presented. Louise’s relaxed manner makes for not only an incredible feast, but being able to watch her at work, in my opinion, is one of the best parts of Mortimer Supper Club. It’s a privilege to have the ‘insider view’ to watch her effortlessly create course after course, with what seems like minimal effort, when in fact she consistently knocks out high end fare. Unforgettable, unique evenings, combined with exquisite food in a stunning home, I can’t wait for my next supper club gathering!

We stayed over in Reading from London and happy to say the food and service was exemplary. Portions were amazing and Manager was profession (even though they were short staffed). By far the best harvester I been to and highly recommend going. A very happy (returning) customer

The pub was brimming and over flowing to the outside with diners when we arrived. I'd heard their roast dinners were good and thought the number of people were a testament to that. Wrong! The roast (?) potatoes weren't all golden and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside but barely cooked and a grey colour which my knife couldn't penetrate. One of the potatoes was actually black. The parsnip was not all soft and squiggy but suffered the same lack of time in the oven, if it ever saw an oven that defied my knife slicing off a piece to taste. The pork dry, and tasteless. I didn't attempt the giant Yorkshire which obviously wasn't homemade instead looked plastic. The cackling burnt. However the side dish of cabbage and carrots and the one piece of cauliflower whilst overcooked was quite tasty hence the 2 stars I think we were perhaps one of the last diners to be served so maybe we drew the short straw. I'm not however game to try again.

Lovely tea rooms by the canal. Sandwiches, panini, cakes, icecream all delicious. It's tiny but has upstairs space too. Outside tables and chairs in the garden area very popular with families and dog walkers. Overall very nice. The toilet seat and the bin in the one communal loo look like a health hazard and need replacing however.

¡Gracias!

Not much to report. Green curry was ok, tempura prawns are not tempura but a sort of fluffy batter that was all you can taste, and the pad thai was as average as you will eat. The place was empty other than 4 people and the resteraunt empty and dated. With so many eateries working hard to produce great food, friendly service and compete in an incredibly hard industry, none of this can be said of the Turners Arms. It is a shame as there is not a Thai resteraunt within 6 miles of this place, and if they got it right, I suspect it would do very well indeed.
