Authentic taste, good service and big portions, had one of the best lamb shank there. Highly recommended

Superb place, we went for an afternoon tea and it was absolutely AMAZING, the quality of the food was outstanding, homemade scones and delicious sandwiches, we couldn't finish everything on the trays, by the time we got to the macaroons and cake I was done. Superb service with friendly and warm staff. I would super recommend The Barn.

Enjoyed a pint in the spring sunshine on the terrace at the George. Excellent service and a wide selection of independent beers on tap.

Had a very unexpected visit today. Spent the whole morning running errands and shopping around town and realised I was flagging fast (heavily pregnant) and hadn’t eaten a thing since the night before. Tried eating at the cafe in Victoria Place only to be told they were short staffed and couldn’t serve the area of tables set out. Great. Sent away (along with others waiting) and walked out looking for somewhere else. Walked in to Poppins and immediately greeted and to sit anywhere I pleased. I grabbed the first table and had immediate service approach. Friendly and cheerful. I just had a simple breakfast sandwich and a mug of tea. Delicious. It’s simple fare but just what I needed. I certainly prefer to support a business like this with friendly and tasty food rather than a chain that don’t value their patrons. Will pop in next time I need a quick pit stop for refuelling.

Best pub/restaurant I've been to for ages! A really lovely looking place. Lots of seating in attractive places. The restaurant at the top sold fabulous meals at reasonable prices. I had a three course meal for £20 that was on offer before 7pm. It was excellent. Highly recommend this place......also had live music

It’s happened again. They have done it - again. I returned for the Friday evening tapas and jazz evening (if you’ve not witnessed this - you must, believe me - phenomenal) and not only was the value for money absolutely exquisite, but the service - top tier, the atmosphere - beyond me. Scarlet was not here this evening (for those who read my previous review) however as sad as this was, the night was made equally as glamorous and unique in its own right by our delightful waitress Sarah, who was nothing short of a shining star the entire evening. She was attentive and resilient with our many needs! She made the evening a joy, and for this reason - along with the many many others - we will OF COURSE be returning promptly - as demonstrated by the fact I was back this evening. Once again a 5 star review, I don’t think that will change any time soon! All the best - happy dining (staying!)

My visit to Napule Pizza with friends was unforgettable. The pizza was a culinary masterpiece, blending traditional flavors with a modern twist, all encased in a perfectly cooked crust. Exceptional service and a cozy atmosphere made our experience delightful. Napule Pizza truly stands out as a top choice for pizza lovers.

Laid back vibe, had a good fried breakfast and coffee. Quite large groups can be catered for.

Had the chef's tasting menu and every dish was fantastic. A real breadth of flavours in each course from canapes to desert. My favourite was the fish course (John Dory) but also a shout out to the bread, the focaccia with the paprika infused pork dripping was amazing. A relaxed atmosphere and pleasant staff make this a nice place for a special occasion, I would definitely visit again.

Made an impromptu visit and found that the kitchen was closed for lunch. The chef however made an exception for us a treated us to what we wanted as we had travelled quite a way. Everything was 10/10. The portions nice and huge. Left the place stuffed and will definitely be back. 💯
