Poppins in Tunbridge Wells

Had a very unexpected visit today. Spent the whole morning running errands and shopping around town and realised I was flagging fast (heavily pregnant) and hadn’t eaten a thing since the night before. Tried eating at the cafe in Victoria Place only to be told they were short staffed and couldn’t serve the area of tables set out. Great. Sent away (along with others waiting) and walked out looking for somewhere else. Walked in to Poppins and immediately greeted and to sit anywhere I pleased. I grabbed the first table and had immediate service approach. Friendly and cheerful. I just had a simple breakfast sandwich and a mug of tea. Delicious. It’s simple fare but just what I needed. I certainly prefer to support a business like this with friendly and tasty food rather than a chain that don’t value their patrons. Will pop in next time I need a quick pit stop for refuelling.

Awful , disappointed , ……service disgusting , food mediocre £11.25 for couple of nuggets and chips and a glass of orange which was brown not orange , treated by staff like what to still something ( did had trousers , tie , shirt lol ) Will never ever go back , avoid !

OK, being honest, couldn't find pubic loos so popped in for a quick drink and to use their loo. And it was the cleanest, nicest ladies I could have hoped for. It also looks to be incredibly inexpensive for its location (double filled sandwich on the menu for £3.50) and a v large apple juice £2 - and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. Thoroughly recommend

Come here often for breakfast, good food and very reasonably priced. The service is always extremely friendly and welcoming, can’t fault the staff!

Finished work late. Went for a fry up. Delicious and with a coffee even better. Very clean, fast service and enjoyable.

I come here often with my daughter. Staff are so friendly, service is amazingly quick but you can tell everything is cooked fresh to order, always comes out piping hot! Would definitely recommend and extremely reasonably priced too

Visited for lunch on Boxing day, which meant it was very quite, as was the town itself. The food is good basic british fare (except the curries and lasagne) which was well cooked and presented. The staff were friendly and the service was good. The proces were quite reasonable too. Worth a try when in town.

Had a wonderful full English breakfast, one of the best I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to try the other meals next time I’m in Royal Tunbridge Wells. Decent prices too, and some nice looking meals on the menu. Well worth a visit :-)

We have breakfast here most Saturday mornings. The food is great, reasonably priced and the staff are very friendly and helpful - we always get greeted warmly. There is a great atmosphere and I find it easy going and relaxed. The food is cooked for you after you've made your orders - nothing is hidden from view. I intend to continue using Poppins for the foreseeable future

Can't go wrong with their breakfast . Not necessarily the cheapest in town , but it's fresh & cooked where you can see the chef

Going there for the first time last week we wanted something healthy as we were bored with Subway, as they have lost customer service and their food had not changed in years! So we tried poppins who were very accommodating. The thing and chicken salad were so good, made with love and the drinks were also good. Lovely people and will always s make it my local for good food.

It’s rare to find such a nice little cafe in Twells that isn’t a coffee shop - I must admit that I came in without knowing what to expect; but for a very reasonable price you get fed brilliantly - really good food and the milkshakes are a must try! Staff are so attentive and friendly; very helpful and have a very warm approach to them! Couldn’t have asked for a better first time try! Thoroughly enjoyed myself and encourage others to do so! Worth every penny

Hubby and I decided to try this place out today and we are so glad we did. Lovely and clean inside,no dirty tables,and wonderful attentive staff. I had the veggie burger with a lovely toasted bun and a big generous helping of chips.Hubby had the chicken burger and as a burger lover said it was one of the best! They have a great menu with something for everybody.I will be going back soon and recommend everyone to give it a try!

I have been to other restaurants in the chain, they never fail to disappoint. The service was perfect, price was very impressive and can not fault the food. Go here if you want a decent breakfast for a great price!

Stopped for lunch on a wet Saturday afternoon on a visit to Tunbridge Wells. The food was good and served quickly. The guys who served us were attentive and not too overbearing. The restaurant is clean and we felt very good value for money. The menu is extensive too. Well worth a stop.

This Poppins was fitted out quickly and well as a cafe then opened a few months ago and I visited a week after it opened and have returned a number of times. All food is good and I have had vegan baked potato by leaving the butter off and having beans. I have had a few other things either close to vegan or not but have had fish.
