The Claremont Pub and Garden in Tunbridge Wells

After meeting family at the remembrance service we came upon this pub for some lunch. Well what a find 2 of us had different roasts which were both great. The Pork Loin was massive and my wife couldn’t finish it so I helped out. Others in the party had burgers and again the chicken bits were huge. We sat inside but saw that the beer garden was huge. We will definitely pop in again when we meet up 👍

I came in for a Sunday roast with my family and could have spent the whole evening there. It was so relaxed and comfortable. The staff were nice and pretty helpful when it came to the kids and food choices etc. The best part was the food though. Omg the pork crackling was divine. Like crack for foodies. I tried both the pork and chicken roasts, which were lovely. Unusual veg combo, but it went down well with everyone at the table and i have to saybi preferred it to the usual cabbage (🤮). My son had the burger which was also amazing. Double burgers make 10yo boys so happy - who knew?

Wonderful Sunday spent surrounded by lovely staff. Would def recommend to anyone.

Ive been coming here for years and they have just recently taken on a new chef his food is amazing and Sunday roast are to die for chef Brett takes extra care in the details and always goes the extra mile to make sure your tummy is satisfied

An extremely pleasant place. You sip juice or a cola and you are surrounded by beautiful flowers from all sides.

The pub has a good range of drinks and a outside bar area. The outside is great, under sails and lots of room. We didn't eat however , service and staff friendly. Wasn't that busy when we went but I see it as great venue for bigger parties. Clean facilities. The frozen margarita's looked good !

We booked a large section of the outside for a 50th Birthday party, a great afternoon and evening was had by all. Elliot and Claire were both very good with helping organise, we was having the deck, but weather wasn’t looking great so they swiftly sorted us the under cover area, pre booked buffet food was lovely we also pre-ordered drinks which were all waiting for us in ice buckets on arrival Massive thanks to the whole Claremont team for helping make it a great day

Great pub, fantastic outdoor space to the rear. You can take your dog in (if it’s not too crowded) love it…

Good food, lovely garden, great location

Half the menu was unavailable and everything was very expensive. Aside from the blonde girl taking our food order, the staff could do with putting a smile on their face. Incredibly disappointing.

Full marks to the Claremont for putting on an amazing buffet spread for a large group of us. Love the outside space. Perfect for a warm evening.

‘One Eight Zero’, aka interactive darts upstairs in the Claremont is one of Tunbridge Wells’ best kept secrets! I booked both boards for a group of school dads on a Friday evening and we had a great time. The beers were flowing and there was a great variety of interactive darts games that totted the scores up for you so nothing too mentally taxing on a night out. I’ll definitely be coming again before word spreads, everyone knows about it and I have to boom 2 months in advance. Really cool move from the Claremont to introduce this to the area - saves a trip in to London for ‘Flight Club’.

Bit of a cold, wet night and with scaffolding to the front, it didn't appear too good. Only went into the front bar, it was quiet but the barman was welcoming and the Guinness was good.

Had a large dinner party here one Friday eve towards the end of August. Was 20 of us so was very pleased how accommodating they was to fit us in on relatively short notice (less than 2 weeks) when they was already very busy with bookings. Nearly everyone ate and said the food was brilliant as was the service. We sat outside under the canopy and had a lovely evening that was enjoyed by all. I will be booking future events at the Claremont that's for sure.

Nice relaxed pub to grab a drink and a quick bite to eat... Varied menu to suit a variety of tastes ranging from light bites (with dishes like sesame chicken Chinese dumplings, chickpea & aubergine with eggs, and mini truffle and parmesan arancini catching my eye) to more substantial main dishes like chicken milanese, steak, and burgers (as well as Sunday roast menu)... Very nice chilled atmosphere and large outdoor space round the back consisting of seating in both the sun and covered area... Lovely attentive staff so would recommend a visit there...

Too much noises. I don't know why people are shouting 😕 while taking 😒 🙄 Shisha is not available after 11 pm !

Booked for a Sunday lunch on basis of reviews and menu on the website. Arrived and told they hadn’t done Sunday lunch for a couple of weeks now and not available. Check before booking!

Great pub, great atmosphere and food

Best staff and best atmosphere. Garden is amazing

It's a nice place but I just cannot get over the behaviour of one of the chefs who I overheard, very inappropriate with a waitress. If I witnessed this I would have fired him on the spot. When you sign up for a job you are signing up to be stressed about work and ONLY work, sexual harassment is not in the contract! Get a grip management!

Very nice beer garden in the back of the house. Friendly staff, clean toilets. Food is at the moment not available.

Absolutely fabulous place. We had Sunday roasts with friends in the covered beer garden on a beautiful sunny day. Food was superb as was the service. Totally recommended.

I must of hit this place on a bad day , The Harvey's was rough and the burger buns hard 🤷‍♂️ may try again but undecided

Excellent outside area to enjoy food and drink

Very friendly staff. Nice welcome. Shown to a choice of tables, lively outside, quiet outside, inside by the bar, or quiet inside. Fast accurate service. Able to alter sauces and remove onions etc as well as have starters and mains at the same time. Several vegan alternatives available. I had the cauliflower and BBQ chicken starters which were really tasty, but not too spicy, and surprisingly filling. We also had the brownies for dessert - amazing! 6 drinks, 2 starters, 3 mains and 1 dessert for £90 - very reasonable. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Great outdoor space with areas under cover or full sunlight. This pub has used its car park to create a sumptuous space in a side road near the main train station. Reasonably priced drinks and heaving in summer evenings.

Brilliant pub - the outdoor area looks amazing and has a great vibe. I’ve eaten here many times and it’s always great food. The kids love it too! Would recommend :)

We were there for mothers day with our children and grandchildren and it wasn’t a nice experience unfortunately! First they couldn’t find our booking then they wanted to sit us in a table that wasn’t suitable eventually they accommodate us in the table I’d originally booked for Then they lost our order and made us wait an hour! finally when the food arrived it was quite disappointing particularly the roast lamb there was not trace of goats cheese ( apparently part of the filling) and the meat wasn’t tender …. Portions were quite little and we felt that the day was ruined and they didn’t offer any discount or free desserts Soo needless to say that we won’t be back and will discourage others too !!! A dissatisfied customer

Perfect venue for our 40/50 gathering. Easy access by train/bus. The buffet spread was wonderful we fully recommend it. Staff plentiful, friendly and efficient. We had a wonderful afternoon/evening. Up class with a friendly and warm welcome. You can tell with the furnishings it's a more fancier pub than its previous predecessor but the welcome from the staff is warm; good selection of beers and ales.

We went to the Claremont for our annual staff meal for the second time post Covid ! 19 of us had a wonderful meal in the private room upstairs and the room was decorated lovely .The food was of a very high standard but not overpriced as some businesses charge very high prices for Christmas meals.The staff were attentive to all our needs but not obtrusive! All of my colleagues commented on our WhatsApp group that they had really enjoyed the night out at the Claremont.Thank you Helen and her team for another fabulous evening from all the staff at Spire Tunbridge Wells theatres

Fabulous night in the private room at the Claremont, nice that we had a separate toilet for 17 of us. Helen was so helpful in the planning and on the night with the table service for drinks and food. We didn’t feel forgotten about and everyone enjoyed! Food was also lovely!

We had a family lunch of 12 on Sunday and it was amazing! The food cooked by the chef (Mike was his name as we had to say thankyou) was really good, most of us had the Roast Beef which was cooked really well and the vegetables tastied very fresh. The value for money was brilliant. We were made to feel very welcome by all the team, Helen who is the manager looked after us all day and made sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely be going back and we will be telling everyone about what a great place this is. Well done The Claremont

Lovely place with a very comfortable indoors and a nice big covered beer garden out the back. Quite chrismassy inside but there you go. Staff were cheerful. The Guinness was excellent as was the Harvey's Sussex Best.

Burgers are good and birra poretti is decent but inside could do with a bit of a freshen up

The short haired older bar woman was very mean to her younger female staff verging on bullying. Really horrible to witness. Felt sorry for them.

I don’t even know where to start! The Food, the atmosphere and the staff - AMAZING. With the new refurb too it’s super cosy! Huge thank you to Mike (chef) for his amazing burgers! After closing up the kitchen, he still cooked me and my partner the best sliders and chips for us! Keep up the good work x

I visited The Claremont on a recommendation from friends. We weren't disappointed. We got a great table on the decking area soaked in the sunshine. We had great burgers and some light bites and they were very tasty. As the evening progressed we moved under the heated tent. By 8pm the place was very busy and the atmosphere very buzzy. So good we have booked my wife's birthday party there.

We had two "small bites" items from the menu. The Chorizo Tater Tots consist of: soggy deep fried processed potato somethings smothered in that processed plastic orange "cheese" slurry that you get on nachos in the worst American style places with the most processed, insipid chorizo style sausage you've ever seen. The Buffalo Chicken Bites are just chicken nuggets in red sauce. Didn't eat it. Left in disgust as we didn't think that the miserable staff would even understand why this is a problem.

We wait for more than 10 minutes to get the menu. Then wait another few minutes for our order. As its too much wait we decide to order food at once. And again food came a bit long. Its not even peah hour for lunch as we came nearly 2pm We already hungry and just wait. Glad that the burger taste good. Nachos taste good too. Hope the pub check the guest more often rather than chit chat behid the bar.

Stupid busy however the garden is stunning and staff are friendly

The 3 people working behind the bar were amazing. For a Monday night it was very busy and they dealt with the cocktails and the food orders and table service so quick. The food was delicious.

Probably my favourite pub in this town, maybe due to the beautiful beer garden, but I cannot stress how welcomed I was by the young blonde chap at the bar, and how accommodating the young man with a beard was. I come to this pub occasionally and I keep coming back for a reason. Would heavily recommend for anyone who enjoys a good beer and a nice atmosphere.

Amazing burgers at a very fair price, large and very tasty portions! Friendly atmosphere and truly nice pub in general, will certainly visit again! 13/03/22 Our second visit to this lovely pub (we are not not local, travelled 80min for this experience) and it once again exceeded our expectations, such a welcoming and friendly place with amazing food obviously! Nice pub that has organised its outside area well. Went with friends for drinks one Friday never having been before. Nice location, but drinks overpriced, and to cap it off was overcharged for a round. Realised the next day, emailed the pub, they did respond....

Great beer garden with heaters and a gazebo to keep you warm and dry. Despite my mate booking a table if 12 only an hour or so before arriving we managed to get in and a table for all of us. It gets very busy later into the evening so best to get there early if you're looking to sit. The food was brilliant, I got the Wallace burger which was crispy chicken, bacon, coleslaw, jalapenos, and sauce. One of the best burgers I've had in a long time, the chips were good but the burger blew it out the water. Drinks are average price for Tunbridge Wells, and they do steins of Hoffmeister for £10

The interior and the staff were pleasant. Ok place to stop for a drink before grabbing a train back. Drinks were rather expensive, and the TV music channels were pointless to air given the background music was from a different source. Then the chefs blasted out music of their own, which was quite irritating.
